A Guide to Farming in a Mobile City-Chapter 187 : Level 3 Survivor Caravan

Chapter 187

Chapter 187: Level 3 Survivor Caravan
This time, both the human and monstrous world-class organizations would restrain each other through the Silence Agreement.
The human side demanded that neither party send high-level Mobile Cities to engage the Giant Civilization.
The monstrous side naturally understood that the humans wanted to take advantage of this chaotic moment to profit as fishermen and seize the unoccupied zones of the Southern Continent.
Therefore, they strictly limited the number of Mobile Cities deployed by the three major human organizations in the Southern Continent, and also imposed restrictions on both the city levels and item levels—limited to Level 3.
The three major human organizations already had few Mobile Cities and forces stationed in the Southern Continent.
As a result, they could only draw as much manpower as possible from other continents, and even recruit human Mobile Cities wandering the Wastelands.
“All calculations. This is all just calculations.” Heath sincerely sighed.
He was well aware that the deployments of the Apocalypse Sect, Titan Throne, and Iron Oath Brotherhood in the Southern Continent currently only included the Great Wall and the Scrap District built by the Apocalypse Sect.
Given the need to defend the Great Wall from the giants, the troops available for deployment were extremely limited.
Therefore, the human Mobile Cities roaming the Southern Continent, along with city alliances and foreign Level 3 human Mobile Cities, instead became the targets of the three major organizations.
They would serve as the vanguard, responsible for exploring on behalf of the three major organizations and seizing as much territory across the continent in advance as possible.
This was merely the initial stage. At present, the human side was still in the preparation phase. It was expected that the full-scale war in the Southern Continent would take more time to erupt.
At the end of the communication, Viktor noticed that Heath appeared particularly excited.
But this Cardinal Bishop himself was not so optimistic.
Over the years, the human side had exploited the Silence Agreement many times to secure advantages.
The high-levels of the three major human organizations had vaguely realized—
The monsters' tolerance for the Silence Agreement was likely reaching its limit.
“So do you understand now? Your Tomorrow Alliance is far more important than imagined.”
Albert said solemnly.
Li Ye nodded repeatedly, his eyes also lighting up.
Previously, he would have been reluctant to send the Tomorrow Alliance to explore the Southern Continent.
Because the vast majority of the Southern Continent was controlled by monsters, and some areas even housed Level 3 monstrous civilizations, exploration was simply too dangerous.
But now, the situation had completely changed.
The monstrous civilizations and giants were at war, and the entire Southern Continent had been torn apart, becoming extremely chaotic.
This instead provided the Tomorrow Alliance an opportunity.
They could explore any area at will, collect wild resources, and conveniently clear out remnants of monstrous civilizations and pick up the loot dropped by giants.
Wreckage of various vehicles and Mobile Cities could then be recycled for metal and processed in the Steel Refinery to be reforged into iron ore.
If luck allowed, they might even find a Level 3 area vacated after a great battle—an instant vertical takeoff.
“This is indeed a rare golden opportunity for development!” he thought to himself.
Albert also informed him of one piece of news.
For human Mobile Cities, the Southern Continent now resembled a new blue ocean.
Whatever Li Ye could think of, others had already thought of too.
At this point, multiple Level 3 human Mobile Cities from other continents had completed retrofitting for water navigation and were heading full-speed toward the Southern Continent.
Everyone wanted a piece of the pie.
Considering that the Tomorrow Alliance was at the early stage of Level 3, Albert made arrangements accordingly.
132 kilometers northwest of checkpoint A9, there was a so-called “Level 1 area” named the Basin Region.
In fact, naming zones by their terrain was quite common. Continents often had similar terrains, so having repeated zones like “Desert Zone,” “Plateau Zone,” and “Plain Zone” was also normal.
However, exceptions existed.
For example, the “Plateau Zone” in the Western Wasteland Continent was a Level 2 area. In some other continents, the “Plateau Zone” might even be Level 3 or Level 4, with a sharp increase in survival difficulty.
The Basin Region originally hosted a Level 1 monstrous civilization, but Albert estimated it had likely been destroyed by the giants.
The giants were expected to continue advancing eastward, so only a few giants should remain in the Basin Region.
The Tomorrow Alliance could explore and develop this Level 1 area and possibly even occupy it.
Most importantly, the Basin Region was remote and would allow the Tomorrow Alliance, which had just received over ten thousand people, to quietly absorb its new population.
Li Ye slightly nodded.
This was indeed a solid suggestion.
Although the Tomorrow still needed time to slowly manage its population, it couldn't just drag on like this. Taking control of a Level 1 area and collecting some wild resources and metals during this period seemed feasible.
They could also observe the situation in the Southern Continent while at it.
This would also be beneficial to the three major human organizations.
If the Tomorrow Alliance occupied the Basin Region, it would effectively mean the human side had gained control over this Level 1 area.
“I suggest you act quickly.” Albert waved.
“Why?” Li Ye asked, puzzled. “According to what you said, there shouldn’t be many giants left in the Basin Region, right?”
Hearing this, Albert paused for a moment.
“That’s true, but monstrous civilizations in other areas of the Southern Continent might try to take control of it,” he replied.
Just like high-level human city alliances, high-level monstrous civilizations would also try to control low-level areas.
After all, the iron ore, coal, and saltpeter produced in low-level areas could be used as supplementary battle resources. They might even survey oil fields, natural gas fields, and mines.
Monstrous civilizations craved resources no less than humans.
The Southern Continent had a total of 27 zones, most of which were Level 2–3.
There were only one or two Level 1 areas.
There was also a Level 4 zone—the “Flame Desert Zone.”
Level 4 human Mobile Cities wandering and developing in the Flame Desert Zone, along with the Level 4 monstrous civilizations controlling it, had already been ordered by both world-class organizations not to participate.
Even the giants didn’t dare approach that zone.
“Just do your best.” Albert reassured, “If it doesn’t work out, then retreat to checkpoint A9.”
Li Ye returned to the Tomorrow and gathered his three companions to inform them of the plan ahead.
“Since we’ve come to the Southern Continent, we’ve got to find a way to develop and explore,” Fang Yong was the first to speak. “I actually think this is quite a good opportunity.”
As he nodded, Li Ye recalled something Albert had deliberately informed him of.
Most of the zones in the Southern Continent had abundant city ruins.
This was mainly because, during the Old Era, the continent had many human nations and a high degree of urbanization.
By contrast, the Western Wasteland Continent was mostly barren, with few human nations and less development, thus far fewer urbanized areas.
Not only were there city ruins left over from the Old Era, the monstrous civilizations occupying zones now also built towns and cities.
So the number of cities in the Southern Continent far exceeded Li Ye’s expectations.
Li Ye quickly formed a plan in his mind.
That was to rely on city ruins and deploy Special Forces equipped with jetpacks and Level 3 Firearms for special operations.
The goal was to eliminate giants and destroy monstrous civilization-deployed Mobile City units.
Out of caution, he specifically went to inquire about the current status of the Basin Region from Albert.
Albert dispatched reconnaissance aircraft to survey the Basin Region and ed the findings to Li Ye.
The Basin Region had clearly been a nation during the Old Era and had countless city ruins.
But due to the giants’ “Earth Tremors,” more than half of the ruins in the Basin Region had been destroyed.
Upon learning this, Li Ye could only sigh.
“Alright then.”
In the following period, he picked up his walkie-talkie and called for Lin Wu.
“This time, we might need to expand the Special Forces to over 200 people.”
“Why?” Lin Wu looked somewhat surprised.
After learning the reason, he slowly nodded.
"Understood. I’ll select the personnel within two days as quickly as possible."
With Li Ye’s command, the Tomorrow Alliance set off toward the Basin Region.
On the deck, Li Ye opened the System Panel.
In the past few days, the system cooldown had already reset, and two or three days had passed.
【Time remaining until next Intelligence Refresh: 2 days 17 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds】
【Number of intelligence entries: 6】
"This time the total refresh duration is five days. The value shouldn’t be bad either," he thought.
Before departure, Li Ye specially sought out Albert again to try and secure that Level 3 Missile Launcher Blueprint.
"You see, we are also doing our best for the human side," he said slowly. "So could you..."
Looking at the young Lord before him, Albert’s body trembled slightly as he struggled to hold back.
"Don’t treat our Apocalypse Sect as some charity organization! Always thinking about leeching off us!"
He waved his hand irritably.
"As long as you diligently explore and control the region, do you really think there will be few benefits for you?"
Nonetheless, he still gifted Li Ye a Level 3 Heavy Machine Gun Upgrade Blueprint.
Several hours later, the Tomorrow Alliance arrived at the Basin Region.
This Level 1 area wasn’t very large, about the same size as the Valley Zone in the Western Wasteland Continent.
The only difference was, there were a lot of city ruins here.
"This suggests that in the Old Era, this place might have been a developed small nation," he thought.
To monitor the situation in the Basin Region in real time and collect wild resources, he specially dispatched a Black Hawk Helicopter.
To his surprise, one of the Black Hawk Helicopters soon made a discovery.
It wasn’t that a mine or rare ore vein was found—but a Level 3 caravan.
"Is it really a Level 3 caravan?" Li Ye was skeptical.
The Black Hawk Helicopter pilot nodded lightly.
"Absolutely, Lord."
According to him, while he was piloting the Black Hawk Helicopter searching for resources in the Basin Region, he suddenly saw a ripple in the air in a certain direction.
Right after, a survivor caravan appeared out of thin air.
At first, the pilot was so shocked he couldn’t speak, but quickly realized the situation.
The vehicles in the caravan clearly possessed camouflage abilities similar to City Camouflage.
Not only that, the vehicles all looked like Base Vehicles.
Hence, he judged that this was a Level 3 Survivor Caravan.
This survivor caravan seemed quite resource-strapped, so upon seeing the Black Hawk Helicopter, the survivors immediately recognized it as a vehicle from a Mobile City and took the initiative to make contact.
On closer inspection, the pilot noticed a Titan Throne insignia on the survivor caravan.
After a brief conversation, he learned that this survivor caravan was supported by the Titan Throne.
The caravan had been wandering across various parts of the Southern Continent in search of survival.
Currently, the survivors in the caravan were lacking iron ore, gunpowder, and fuel.
After hearing the , Li Ye nodded slightly.
"Then let’s go meet them."
The pilot shrugged.
"In fact, this caravan has already followed me back, Lord."
Li Ye looked off into the distance and saw a caravan approaching.
Unlike the Level 1 and Level 2 caravans seen before, this caravan’s vehicles were uniformly Base Vehicles.
The Base Vehicles were about the size of Super Trucks, just slightly shorter.
The vehicle bodies were covered in composite armor and equipped with Cannons and Heavy Machine Guns. They even seemed to have high-voltage arc emitters to prevent monster intrusion.
What surprised Li Ye the most was that the vehicles also possessed optical camouflage capabilities, allowing dynamic concealment.
As for the survivors in the caravan, they were all outfitted to Level 3 standards—rifles, grenades, bulletproof vests, all present.
Not only Li Ye, but Zhou Xing and the others also curiously gathered around.
The caravan’s leader met with Li Ye and his group immediately.
He was a Western elder, probably in his sixties, with white hair yet still looking spirited and standing straight.
According to his self-introduction, his name was Aiken.
Noticing the looks from Li Ye and the others, Aiken clearly understood and straightforwardly waved his hand.
"First time seeing a Level 3 caravan, huh? Before we begin the conversation, why don’t I take you all on a tour of the Base Vehicle?"
Li Ye and the others naturally agreed with pleasure.
In a sense, the world-class organization Titan Throne had acted as a bridge for mutual friendly exchanges.
If it had been under normal circumstances, a survivor caravan would never dare approach an unfamiliar Mobile City alliance.
But a caravan bearing the insignia of a world-class organization was different. It was equivalent to announcing that it was under that organization’s banner.
Aiken also told Li Ye and the others that the caravan was equipped with satellite positioning from the Titan Throne. If the signal disappeared, Titan Throne would immediately dispatch a team to investigate and confirm the situation.
As he spoke, Aiken led the four of them onto a Base Vehicle.
Upon stepping inside, Li Ye found that the space was far more expansive than he had imagined.
The Base Vehicle was divided into three levels.
The first level was the cockpit.
Inside the cockpit were panoramic display screens, radar, night vision, and terrain scanning systems. It also controlled a series of weapon systems deployed on the Base Vehicle. A weapons cabinet nearby stored Firearms, Blades, and grenades.
The second level was the living and production area.
The living area had eight foldable bunk beds that could be stowed within the wall when not in use. It even had a small toilet with a water recycling system.
The production area included vertical aeroponic racks and a workstation for repairing Firearms and Base Vehicle components.
The third level was the energy and storage area.
It mainly consisted of the Base Vehicle’s generator units, smart shelves, atmospheric water generator, and a temperature-controlled medicine refrigerator.
The roof of the Base Vehicle was fitted with solar panels.
As Fang Yong and the others looked around, they kept exclaiming in awe. Even Li Ye was slightly stunned.
Compared to Level 1 and Level 2 caravans, the equipment and facilities of a Level 3 caravan were vastly superior.
He immediately thought of a crucial question.
"Can your caravan achieve self-sufficiency?"
Aiken patiently began explaining.
The caravan’s food came from various grades of crops, which grew quickly and yielded a lot, so no one had to worry about going hungry.
