Chapter 202: “Let the Tourist State Quiet Down”
The Land Combat Forces successively boarded the lift platforms, descending to the ground and swiftly advancing toward the city.
The Special Forces lined up one after another to board the Bullfrog Vehicles.
As they opened fire in succession, one team after another of the Special Forces surged toward the city.
Just before landing, they all activated their jetpacks, using counter-thrust to offset the impact and landing steadily.
After deploying all the troops from the deck, the Stellar suddenly accelerated, speeding toward the city.
The Giants wandering within the city seemed to sense something. Their gazes grew intensely alert.
“Everyone be careful, it seems like something is coming.”
“Did you see those fighter jets circling in the sky? They should be sent by humans.”
“Humans again? Damn them!”
Soon, the first wave of clashes broke out.
Ten Giants against three teams of Special Forces.
A Knight Giant was the first to attack. He let out a furious roar and swung his massive sword at an office building that a squad of Special Forces was climbing. The soundwaves of his roar instantly shattered the glass curtain walls within a hundred meters.
When the greatsword struck the office building, an entire floor collapsed like toppled blocks, scattering old files and fragments of office equipment into the smoke and dust.
Thanks to their superior mobility, the squad swiftly evaded the Knight Giant’s attack. They weaved between the floors, the blue tail flames of their jetpacks trailing behind them, while their Climbing Anchor Claws glinted coldly under the setting sun.
The squad captain quickly gave an order.
“Take out his vision first!”
“Roger that!”
One member surged upward with the jetpack’s thrust, his Climbing Anchor Claw latching precisely into the folds of exposed skin between the Knight Giant’s helmet and breastplate.
After landing, he steadied himself and unleashed a mad burst of fire from his Level 3 Assault Rifle at the Giant’s nape.
Feeling the searing pain from his neck, the Knight Giant widened his eyes, roaring in fury as he reached to swat his neck.
“Damn insects! I’ll kill you all!”
But he did not realize that he had already fallen into a trap.
As he swiped in pain, two members emerged from a nearby building, guns drawn, aiming directly at his eyes.
In an instant, both of the Knight Giant’s eyeballs burst like overripe melons.
It all happened in the blink of an eye, leaving the surrounding Giants unable to react.
Clutching his shield, the Knight Giant struggled to cover his head.
“Cover me!” he shouted anxiously.
Though his eyes and nape were injured, his powerful regenerative ability could soon restore him.
Nearby Giants quickly tore apart chunks of buildings, crushing them into rubble to throw.
But the Special Forces had already prepared for this.
From a distant skyscraper, snipers aimed at the Giants’ eyes and opened fire.
Before some Giants could even react, their vision was destroyed.
“Protect yourselves!” a Giant roared. “If we lose our sight, we’re finished!”
Saying this, he shielded his head with both hands.
The other Giants did the same, gritting their teeth.
Naturally, they loathed humanity’s tactics.
Meanwhile, Special Forces members streaked past the Giants’ ears with their jetpacks, clutching something in their hands.
Looking closely—it was RKG-3 Anti-armor Grenades.
To amplify the power, bundles of Level 3 Grenades had been tied together.
After pulling the pins, the soldiers hurled the grenades. The bundles traced precise parabolic arcs through the air, landing directly inside the Giants’ ear canals.
Through the thick black ear hair, the grenades dropped deep into the Giants’ auditory tunnels.
A second later, the Giants’ ears exploded.
Shockwaves ricocheted violently within the enclosed ear cavities. The eardrums shredded instantly, followed by rupturing muscles and vessels along the inner canal.
Like a furious hurricane, high-pressure gases tore through the cochlea, surging into the brainstem and turning their brains into a slurry.
In moments, black blood mixed with bone fragments gushed from their noses, eye sockets, and even between their teeth.
The Giants’ initial screams of agony soon gave way to strange, wet, muffled sounds—like something collapsing inside their skulls.
Before the Special Forces’ eyes, one Giant after another staggered and fell, shaking the streets.
Some tried to clutch their ears, but all that remained was a smoking, bloodied hole.
This was a killing move designed specifically against Giants.
Their immense size came with equally vast ear structures.
The oversized ear canals connected directly to the cranial cavity, creating natural fatal channels.
When bundles of Level 3 Grenades detonated inside, the directed explosions were far deadlier than any external blasts.
Thus, the “ear-grenade tactic” had been brought into play.
The Special Forces glanced at the collapsed, groaning Giants.
Even with their heads ravaged, the Giants still lived.
A squad captain shook his head and raised his firearm.
“Finish them off.”
Meanwhile, the Stellar streaked across the city, slaughtering Giants at will.
Its combat power had ascended to an entirely new level.
The Tomorrow had recently advanced to Level 3, equipping Frost Cannons and Molten Cannons, along with its Level 2 Hunter Cannon, all of which were now mounted on the Stellar’s deck.
Combined with its original arsenal, this Level 1 Assault-type Mobile City now wielded terrifying firepower.
In the distance, three more Giants charged forward.
At the sight, Lin Wu raised his hand and ordered:
“Attack. Kill them all.”
On the Stellar’s deck, four Level 3 Molten Cannons roared.
Four Molten Shells streaked through the air, fiery trails splitting the sky.
One shell struck a Giant’s chest.
The explosion unleashed volcanic heat of thousands of degrees. His upper body was incinerated instantly, ribs charred and twisting outward like red-hot iron claws.
Staggering back in terror, he tried to smother the flames consuming his organs, but fire and explosions coursed through his veins, burning him from within until nothing remained but a blazing skeleton.
Another shell struck a second Giant’s abdomen, blowing his body apart, his charred remains raining down in a fiery deluge.
The surviving Giant’s eyes widened in sheer horror.
“Ahhh! AAAAAHHHH!” he screamed in despair.
On the Stellar’s deck, Ning Wen shrugged at the sound.
“How odd. When these Giants scream, they sound exactly like ordinary humans.”
A calm voice answered from nearby.
“But in the end, they are still monsters.”
Turning, Ning Wen saw Lin Wu approaching swiftly in his Level 3 Wheelchair.
“Finish off the last one too,” Lin Wu said coldly.
The Stellar now carried three types of Level 3 Cannons:
Molten Cannon, Frost Cannon, and Black Iron Cannon.
To sustain firepower, the cannons fired in alternating waves.
The last Giant, terrified, fled desperately.
Predicting his path, two Frost Cannons fired.
The shells whistled through the air, slamming into the Giant’s legs.
His running stride froze midair. Moisture in his muscles crystallized instantly, and frost-webs spread up his body.
His legs shattered like glass, releasing icy dust instead of blood.
Then the frost engulfed his torso, his eyes glazing over with eerie blue light.
Through his open mouth, jagged ice spikes grew in his throat.
Even his breath expelled thick frost.
When he pressed his palm against the ground, he recoiled at the faint cracking of his frozen joints.
Under the Stellar crew’s gaze, the Giant became an ice statue.
“Level 3 Cannons sure are incredible!” Ning Wen exclaimed.
Scratching his head, he muttered:
“Looks like Level 3 Cannons aren’t obsolete after all.”
Nearby, Lin Wu chuckled.
“No matter how powerful they are, their range is limited. A missile can strike from a thousand miles away. The enemy could be destroyed before they even appear.”
Ning Wen nodded—of course, he understood that logic.
Lin Wu pointed casually at the frozen Giant.
“See? He’s not dead yet.”
Ning Wen raised his binoculars.
Through the lenses, the Giant was a grotesque ice sculpture—half his body shattered, the other half veined with frost cracks like marble.
But unbelievably, he was still alive.
The Giant’s ice-crusted eyes still turned occasionally, and at the severed gap of his lower body, flesh and bone squirmed slowly like sticky asphalt, beginning to regenerate.
If Ning Wen had been closer, he might have faintly heard the “thump, thump” sound.
That was the Giant’s heart beating in the extreme cold, each thud echoing only a few times per minute.
“Gotta admit, these Level 3 monsters really are tenacious.” He sighed.
Then he ordered a round of standard shells to be fired in a barrage, completely blasting the Giant’s body apart.
At the same time, three Prometheus engaged several Giants.
These mechanical giants lived up to the title of Super Land Combat Vehicles, unleashing unprecedented ferocity and combat power. With their multi-barrel rotary cannons, massive mechanical claws, and sheer kinetic force, they tore the Giants’ bodies apart by brute strength.
“! Two to three dozen Giants, northeast, six kilometers out!” the Lookout shouted urgently. “They’re all Marathon Giants, and they’re headed straight for us!”
Lin Wu quickly picked up his binoculars and peered northeast.
The earth in the distance trembled like a massive drum.
A horde of Giants came into his view.
They wore sleeveless racing vests, high-slit running shorts, and sneakers. Their frames were far more elongated than ordinary Giants, their muscle fibers knotting beneath the skin like steel bars.
The Marathon Giants charged in formation through the city, toppling buildings in their path.
Under their assault, the streets collapsed like fragile biscuits, underground water pipes bursting apart—but being long broken and unrepaired, no water spilled out.
It was practically a small-scale Earth Tremors.
As the Stellar prepared to open fire, a Giant in the center of the formation shouted a command.
The Marathon Giants immediately shifted formation, charging in zigzagging patterns. Along the way they stretched out their arms, palms sweeping through high-rises like harvesters. They seized the collapsing rubble and crushed it into fist-sized stones to throw.
Seeing this, Ning Wen looked to Lin Wu.
“: the Molten Cannons and Frost Cannons are still reloading. The Black Iron Cannons and the Hunter Cannon are ready to fire at any time.”
Lin Wu shook his head swiftly.
“With a group this size, even all our cannons can’t take them out. Let’s call in the Black Rain Bombers.”
He picked up the walkie-talkie.
“This is the Stellar, requesting airborne fire support.”
The voice of a crew member immediately came through.
“Copy. Fire strike incoming within one minute. Prepare for evasive maneuvers.”
With Tang Fang slamming the throttle, the Stellar accelerated with a roar, surging ahead.
High above, the Black Rain Bomber pierced through the clouds and dove.
As the bomb bay opened, dozens of Cluster Bombs fell like the scythes of Death.
They disassembled midair, releasing thousands of submunitions. A torrential rain of steel engulfed the battlefield in an instant.
The Marathon Giants rampaging through the city were caught completely off guard and overwhelmed.
Their unstoppable charge came to a sudden halt.
Heads, necks, chests, backs, limbs—death blossomed across the Marathon Giants’ bodies.
The battlefield became a living hell. Their skin was shredded into nets, muscles dangling in ribbons.
In the smoke, severed limbs rained down. Charred bone fragments studded the ruins, while thick black-purple blood stained the streets.
The few Marathon Giants who survived wailed and fled, stepping on the severed arms and legs of their comrades with each stride.
After just one round of Cluster Bombing, the Giants had taken devastating losses, their momentum gone.
Before the storm of death dispersed, the Black Rain Bomber began a second run.
The bomb bay opened again, dropping dozens of heavy High-explosive Bombs that whistled through the air.
One after another struck the ground, each explosion blossoming into a fireball that bathed the area in white light. Perfectly spherical shockwaves expanded outward, turning buildings into dust.
When the blasts subsided, the ground was cratered with dozens of impact pits, each tens of meters wide. The craters brimmed with molten metal and pulverized flesh, while the air reeked of scorched stench.
The Black Rain Bomber soared away, leaving a graceful arc in the sky. Behind it remained only a battlefield scorched by heavenly fire.
Two to three dozen Giants—none survived.
Upon hearing the results, Li Ye’s eyes flashed with surprise.
The bomber’s power far exceeded what he had imagined.
Meanwhile, the Land Combat Forces engaged the scattered Giants.
Down narrow streets, a Rapid-fire Mortar Bike weaved at high speed, its tires sparking against the asphalt.
At an intersection, the bike suddenly skidded to a stop.
It had found its target—a Giant wandering nearby.
Under the co-driver’s control, a hydraulic support slammed into the street with a “clank,” swiftly deploying a mortar tube in seconds.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!” Three rapid rounds fired. The Mortar Bike withdrew instantly, leaving fiery explosions tearing into the Giant’s skull.
By the time the Giant roared in fury to retaliate, the Mortar Bike had already sped away, vanishing without a trace.
On a rooftop, a Leapfrog Mech bounded between buildings.
Using its four mechanical legs, it vaulted higher and higher, finally leaping past a Giant’s face.
The gunner squeezed the trigger, and its rotary cannons unleashed a storm of crimson tracers into the Giant’s face while the flamethrower belched fire, searing his features.
Seizing the moment, a Special Forces soldier streaked past with his jetpack, tossing a bundle of grenades into the Giant’s ear.
With time, the number of Giants dwindled visibly across the ruins of the city.
And not only within the ruins and towns—battles raged in the wilderness as well.
With a low hum from Fang Yong, the Iron Whale surged forward and slammed into a Giant.
The Defensive Mobile City’s Giant Jaw Crushing Cutter activated instantly.
The crushing roller clamped onto the Giant’s leg, its five-meter steel teeth slicing through flesh like hot knives through butter.
The Giant’s face twisted in panic as he tried to break free, but the roller’s hundreds of tons of traction dragged him in further, the steel teeth grinding into bone.
With a shriek of metal on bone, his leg shattered into powder, blood spurting from the slag vent into streams on the ground.
He toppled helplessly.
Then the nightmare came.
The Giant Jaw Crushing Cutter pressed down fully, its 36 groups of steel blades shearing in staggered patterns. Like a combine harvester through stalks, it ripped the Giant’s torso apart.
His ribs were severed one by one, the cuts smooth as if by laser. His organs burst violently under hydraulic pressure.
Coughing blood, he struggled in horror as he was torn apart.
Another Giant, just arriving, saw this scene and roared in fury, preparing to strike back.
But in the next instant, a Black Hawk Helicopter swooped in, firing at his eyes.
The Giant raised his hand to shield his face, a cold grin tugging at his lips.
Such petty tricks were useless.
But seconds later, a blazing Light Dot flared in the distance.
A projectile from an Electromagnetic Railgun slammed into his chest.
His flesh first sank inward, then burst apart.
The devastating kinetic impact triggered a catastrophic hydraulic shockwave inside him. His back bulged grotesquely before tearing open like an invisible hand had ripped him from within.
Fragments of spine, half-melted organs, and boiling blood sprayed outward, painting the ruins in black and red.
Staggering back, clutching his burning chest cavity, he swayed.
A gaping hole now punched through his torso, its edges sizzling.
He opened his mouth to speak, but his balance gave way. He collapsed thunderously.
The armed forces of the Tomorrow Alliance pressed on, systematically cleansing the Giants from the Tourist State.
Realizing what had happened, the surviving Giants fled.
