Chapter 1662

Capítulo 1662: Chapter 315: Is This the Power of the Arcane Pathway?!
“You are your own Chosen One…”
Yisen Gard looked somewhat dazedly at Ian, who had just uttered these words, and immediately thought of the reason Ian might say such a thing, causing his pupils to tremble slightly: “Could it be that you have already…”
“Wait for the Silver Sky Gateway, and everything will be known.”
Ian did not confirm; he was also just speculating and needed a concrete ‘evidence’ to prove it.
And the Silver Sky Gateway was his aim.
But now, just the thought of reaching the Silver Sky Gateway was incredibly difficult.
Boom!
It was as if thousands of thunderbolts cracked open, the purplish-red lightning tinged the entire sky with a colorful hue.
From the ground looking up, all the members on the surface of the City of Knowledge initially thought it was another one of those ‘heavenly lords doing something big again?’ kind of accustomed things, seeing that the worst failed experiment in the past thirty years had led to a Floating Island’s downfall, and the situation was similar to today, with a purplish-red sky and countless thunders exploding.
But this time was different.
Because there were two supreme figures seated on the Master Throne, battling above the firmament.
The invisible Spirit Energy Field and natural Origin Quality clashed in and out of the Heavenly Metropolis, the surging airwaves making the entire archipelago of Floating Islands vibrate slightly apart, while the sky was shrouded with dark clouds, almost instantly turning most of the City of Knowledge’s territory into night.
Two Fifth Energy Level powerhouses, the two most formidable beings in Terra, even the mere clash of consciousness would cause climatic changes across the planet, drastically altering celestial phenomena in one region.
In fact, not only the City of Knowledge, but even the surrounding Far Shore Island, Fiery Flame Land, and Seven Cities Alliance, and even Mist Port in the Imperial Capital could be affected by this aftermath, with fierce winds blowing with force from the City of Knowledge, pushing layer upon layer of flowing clouds into wrinkled folds.
Vaguely visible, a silver meteor streaking across the sky, while a pitch-black phantasm weaved and collided within the atmosphere.
Each collision was an earth-shattering ringing; if it happened on the surface, even a mountain would easily be blown away.
The Dark Gold Colossus Dragon tried multiple times to approach the direction of the Silver Sky Gateway, but even with the True Dragon’s Body, it was pushed away several times; if Ian weren’t a Prophet, he might have been seriously injured many times over.
“The City of Knowledge seems quite accustomed to such matters.”
Helpless, Ian, who had to choose a detour, quipped: “All the Floating Islands have corresponding shields and safety measures, even the aftermath of a Fifth Energy Level attack can only blow them away rather than destroy them… Do they frequently encounter such incidents?”
“According to historical records.”
And Yisen Gard, who had done his homework, recalled: “Probably every hundred years or so, there would be an internal conflict here in the City of Knowledge.”
The Guardian of the City of Knowledge and the Chief Scholar of the City of Knowledge always end up in conflict, because one represents the ‘continuity and inheritance of protected knowledge,’ while the other represents ‘leading the City of Knowledge towards progress and advancement.’
While seemingly cooperative and unified, in reality, there are too many technologies that, just by being developed, would pose a threat to life.
And by then, it is a time for both sides to battle, where strength decides the direction of the City of Knowledge.
However, over hundreds of years, no one has ever defeated the Guardian of The Grand Library.
While Ian was taking a detour, the battle continued.
The Guardian’s power leaned more towards the physical realm, the silver mech armor slicing through the sky, bringing forth a long stream of thunder. This was no mere plasma, but rather an ionic cloud produced by gravity distortion from the high-intensity reaction of the Ether Furnace Core around the mech armor, under which even light could hardly approach due to the intense distorted field of protection.
In contrast, Kerraith’s power leaned more towards the mental realm. Endless phantasms were continuously summoned by him from the Domain of Void, some of which were his past selves, some were past Guardians, some were former Grand Scholars, and some were even other Fifth Energy Level powerhouses from Terra.
Although the strength of these phantasms was far inferior to the real body, with Kerraith’s own enhancement of the phantasms, he could dissolve the Guardian’s offensive with extremely complicated and variable power.
Even demons dared not approach; even if a large group of demons came slightly closer to the area where both powers clashed, they would be completely pulverized from body to soul.
“Quickly, leave! This place can no longer be stayed!”
“Is the Guardian’s power actually this formidable? But the records from a hundred and fifteen years ago weren’t this terrifying…”
“What exactly does Kerraith want to accomplish…”
A host of national representatives who had escaped from the Subspace Hall lamented in their hearts, complaining about Terra being a place where attending meetings required risking one’s life. Minor local meetings might be excusable, but international meetings between great nations rarely went without a hitch—at best, there’s an assassination attempt; at worst, one might get caught in another country’s civil strife or international disputes.
Kerraith’s Arcane Pathway seemed feasible for now, but the actual execution required vast amounts of resources, and these resources were none other than the Spirit Energy essence of other ‘Chosen Psychic Power’ users.
He needed the immortality of these Spirit Energies to establish communication with Parallel Universes and forge a pathway leading yonder.
It was undeniably beautiful, rather one might say that this lofty aim was a direct pathway to the Star God Power.
But in this world, there weren’t many willing to dedicate their power to pave the way for someone else’s future.
To escape Kerraith’s scheme, the present representatives desired to leave the City of Knowledge immediately, but found themselves unable to— even a Fourth Energy Level powerhouse trying to leave the shield domain of the ‘Heavenly Metropolis’ was firmly blocked by a dense and sturdy field.
