Above The Sky-Chapter 1675 - 317: The First ’Ian’ (Part 2)

Chapter 1675

Chapter 1675: Chapter 317: The First ’Ian’ (Part 2)
"Otherwise, he should be able to tell me about the special situation of the Bloodline within me, and perhaps... help me resolve this issue."
Thinking of this, Yisen Gard couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Ian.
Then, he was astonished to find that the white-haired prophet’s expression was extremely unpleasant at this moment, and the usually calm Ian now clenched his fists, forcing himself to remain calm.
"Ian, what’s wrong with you?"
Yisen Gard was aghast, and he hurriedly stepped forward to sense Ian’s current condition. However, Ian, who came to his senses, sighed and pushed away Yisen Gard’s hand: "It’s nothing... I just... felt it."
He said with a bitter smile, "I felt the ’meanness’ of myself. And I relied on this meanness to become who I am now.
Yisen Gard didn’t immediately understand the meaning of this sentence, but Ian turned his head, continuing to gaze at the flowing phantasms of time.
"So that’s it..."
He murmured to himself: "Mother didn’t have to die, my brother wasn’t bound to appear, Weyges was actually my friend, even my teacher... could live until that time..."
"What have I... changed to achieve my goals, how many destinies of those who could have been ’saved’?"
No one answered the prophet and the question of the one reincarnated perpetually.
The light and shadows continued to flow.
With Weyges’ help, Ian and this Inspector Knight piloted a wing-ship at full speed toward the South Sea Great Labyrinth, and along the way, they even received guidance from an Ironclad Shark. This shark was quite intelligent, seemingly sensing the breath of Hiliard on Ian and voluntarily led the way to the closest sea area near the entrance.
This must be Hiliard’s ’means of transportation’ at sea. After thanking Shasha, the two hurried to the depths of the South Sea Great Labyrinth at the fastest speed.
By then, the situation had already deteriorated to an extremely terrible condition.
The swarm lurking in the Labyrinth, already sealed, had fully activated and started to devour all beings entering its nest.
First was the Exploration Team, where most people were eroded by parasitic insects, painfully becoming bodies controlled by the swarm. Only a Swordsman managed to struggle out, but still, because of having a parasitic arm, he had to painfully sever his most invaluable arm.
Then it was the Fiery Flame Land special operations unit which had sneaked in unknowingly—they encountered a battle between local Magical Beasts and parasitic beasts and were engulfed, suffering heavy losses. Most were parasitized and devoured.
Next was the Natives... the crucial point.
They were not wiped out; the Native Great Shaman and the fleet fell into the Labyrinth. He discovered the swarm and chose to integrate himself into it—this was the ability bestowed by the Attached Brain.
Having obtained all the wisdom of the Native Great Shaman and absorbed most of the intelligence from Fiery Flame Land and the Exploration Team, the Worm Nest Mother regained all its wisdom and power at the fastest speed and began nurturing its Heart Light Body, advancing to the Third Energy Level.
The only one who could oppose it was Hiliard.
It was an intense battle in the truest sense. The Aether Crystal Dragon put forth every effort to battle with the Worm Swarm Mother Nest. Hiliard shattered its form multiple times, but the opponent, rejuvenated by the constantly leaking Great Labyrinth core furnace energy, even with the involvement of Bishop White Mist, Weyges, and Patrick, could not be completely defeated.
The Crystal Dragon perished, Patrick perished, even the numerous Magical Beast groups within the Labyrinth mobilized collectively to oppose the all-devouring Evil-Devourer Swarm, and even those in the cold room, the Frost Moths and Fae, ceased their fights to ally against it, only to perish one by one.
But in the end, Ian, guided by the final glimmer of an emerging conscious Fae, found a structural weakness in the decisive battlefield.
He used explosives to collapse the Labyrinth structure, temporarily pinning the Mother Nest beneath the rock layers, while Hiliard delivered a fatal blow to the core will of the Swarm Overlord, and activated the South Sea Great Labyrinth’s cooling system, completely destroying the Swarm.
This should have been a decent ending.
Yet, through this battle, the old knight expended the last of his life.
"Ian, Weyges, and even White Mist... you all came... truly remarkable, considering I assumed my actions were quite concealed..."
As his body gradually stiffened, in the Crystal Lake, the elder shook his head with a bitter smile but looked at the bewildered Yisen Gard with some relief: "At least, I’m certain you’re not an Echo... you just have not had much luck."
"What you obtained is the Key to the world’s most terrifying object, and also the most glorious Bloodline... Who will you become? I do not know, nor do I want to guess."
"But I must give you the other Key... and return another Curse to you."
Yisen Gard stared blankly as the elder took out a silver chip from his怀, and the chip melted into his body like water upon contact.
And at that moment, a dark halo lit up on his forehead, with the Mark of the Sunbird shining intensely within!
"Do you regret it?"
In the end, Weyges, with a complex expression, supported the elder as they walked towards the Labyrinth’s exit: "Giving His Majesty’s legacy to that child... frankly speaking, he is quite indecisive, it would be better to give it to me, or to Ian."
"I’ve considered it too." The elder said softly: "But back then His Majesty was also like this...so gentle, so sensitive, and thus cared for everyone’s happiness, creating the Empire as it stands today."
