Chapter 134: Chapter 133: Simultaneous Mania of the sentinels 2
They only knew that sentinels could enter their manic state once there were too many pollutants in their mental sea and if the pollutants in their mental sea were extremely agitated, the sentinels couldn’t suppress it at all.
In the battlefield where the sentinels were always exposed to the pollutants, it’s not surprising to have sentinels being on the verge of their mania one after another.
Those on the verge of mania could certainly feel it; that’s why they would immediately drink stabilizers so that they wouldn’t enter their manic state.
That’s also why they were all rotating to rest so that they could properly manage their condition.
If they weren’t in a very desperate situation, those soldiers wouldn’t let their conditions escalate to their manic state.
If they’re in a desperate situation, those that were nearing their manic state might form a death squad to deal great damage to their enemies; however, the battle situation was good.
He already heard that they could finish the battle within three days, so it was obvious that the battle was in their favor, so there’s no need for soldiers to form a suicide squad at all.
With the stabilizers that he made, even though the number of people entering their manic state was supposed to be more because of the battle, the number of people entering their manic state was already very few.
But now it was suddenly announced that a thousand sentinels were suddenly in a mania, which was clearly abnormal.
Knowing that things were clearly very abnormal, he immediately started calling Mervin and Layton to know more about the situation.
Ryzel called them, but they didn’t reply immediately. Layton only responded after a minute.
But even though he received his call, Ryzel didn’t speak immediately because he could still hear Layton giving orders.
"No one is permitted to enter this area anymore.
Those that are in charge of the rescue operation should wait for the robots to retrieve all the mechas in point B," Layton said to the others.
"The number of the sentinels who are suddenly in their mania state is a lot.
We still have enough stabilizers for those sentinels who were still level A and below.
Fortunately, we already have enough stabilizers that could still work while they were still at the early stage of their mania.
However, we can’t do anything to those 79 high-level sentinels.
I am already preparing ZERO injections for them to sleep peacefully," Mervin said grimly.
Layton obviously paused for a bit but still said, "Permitted. As soon as their mechas arrive, inject them with ZERO."
"Wait-" Ryzel immediately said and intruded in their conversation before Mervin could say any reply.
The two paused as soon as they heard him.
"I have enough bottles of stabilizers for the S and SS level sentinels that are in their manic state.
I already finished making the stabilizers that should be used for the trial.
If you agree, I can give those stabilizers, but as I said, they are supposed to be used for the trial, so the stabilizers haven’t been tried yet," Ryzel immediately said what he wanted to say.
The stabilizers that he made were indeed not yet tested and weren’t supposed to be used yet.
The stabilizers haven’t been tried by people yet, but of course they were already successfully tried thousands of times via data.
So, at least it’s still better than directly being injected with ZERO.
As long as those sentinels were injected with ZERO, then they would be sleeping forever without even knowing if they could really be awakened one day.
Sentinels in mania would be in pain and cause damage to their surroundings for a short period of time, and then they would die afterwards.
Of course, the higher their level is, the higher the damage they could do.
ZERO is a potion that was made to immediately put those in mania to sleep.
ZERO has already been around for a hundred years, but the researchers still haven’t found a way to cure them and allow them to wake up.
ZERO could only let them sleep, and the healing cabin could only protect their body for 100 years.
That’s why being injected with ZERO basically means dying because there’s still no way to wake them up.
At least if they tried the stabilizers that he made, they might still be able to wake up from their mania, as their mania was still beginning.
Ryzel also knew the fate of those high-level sentinels; that’s why he immediately called Layton and Mervin to say that he already had enough stabilizers for S- and SS-level sentinels.
Even if the stabilizers haven’t been tried yet, it’s still better for those sentinels to try his stabilizers first before they could be injected with ZERO.
"How many bottles of stabilizers do you have?" Layton asked.
"I have 100 bottles with me. The herbs are only enough to make 100 bottles of stabilizers, and I made all of them."
"I see. I will permit the use of those stabilizers," Layton said.
"Good, I will immediately deliver the stabilizers," Ryzel said and then immediately went outside.
He also saw Lana outside aside from Sir Fan, so he said, "Deliver this space bracelet in front. It contains 100 stabilizers for S and 2S Level sentinels."
Lana also knew the importance of the stabilizers, so he saluted and hurriedly left.
After giving the stabilizers, he entered the room again and continued listening to Layton and the others.
"Withdraw all the S-level sentinels in the battlefield. Call back all the level A and level B sentinels that could still fight to the battlefield. Be sure that they are all carrying 2.1 stabilizers.
Withdraw half of the 2S and S-level sentinels. Let the robots deliver some of the stabilizers that Ryzel just made to all the 2S-level sentinels that would remain in the battlefield.
The sentinels that withdraw from the front will remain in command of their units, positioned nearby the battleship.
"Understood. General Lewis, you need to withdraw from that area immediately. This situation has never happened before, so something must be seriously wrong in that area," Mervin said seriously.
"There’s a lot of high-level zergs in this area. I need to kill them all first before I can move out.
I will deal with it with Maximus, so we should be able to clean this area as soon as possible.
I need to move already. Mervin, continue watching the battlefield and immediately if there are more anomalies.
Ryzel, be sure to move with your guards and just stay in our room in your laboratory," Layton said and ended the call as he was obviously already fighting some Zergs.
Ryzel knew that Layton was in the affected area where a lot of high-level sentinels suddenly had manias, so Ryzel was worried.
He wanted to tell Layton to withdraw from the area as Mervin suggested, but it seemed that Layton no longer had time to chat.
Layton had 3S-level mental power, so Ryzel was also worried that the thing that affected the other high-level sentinels would also affect him.
At least for the S and 2S level sentinels, he had already made stabilizers that could work for them.
Even though it wasn’t tested yet, Ryzel was confident that the stabilizers he made would surely work.
As for a stabilizer that could work for 3S-level sentinels, he hadn’t researched it yet.
Layton’s mental sea also still had a lot of pollutants. So, if those pollutants were triggered like what happened to the other sentinels, it’s highly likely that Layton would also have a mania.
He knew that many of the sentinels who suddenly developed mania had strong mental fortitude, especially those at higher levels, as they were already accustomed to suppressing the pollutants in their mental sea. However, they were still triggered by something unknown.
"Ry, Ryzel!" Lyre said while patting his shoulders.
"What?" Ryzel asked.
"Good, you finally snapped out of your thoughts. They just sent a general message for all the guides in the battleship."
"What did they say?"
"Because of the sudden mania of a lot of sentinels with unknown cause, they were all requiring guides to wear protective suits even though we are still in the battleship.
They want us to wear additional protective layers as they aren’t certain what might occur.
We should wear our protective suits too," Lyre said.
"I see. Did you bring your protective suit?"
"Yeah, I haven’t removed it from my space bracelet since it was distributed, so I have it with me, but I don’t know how to use it."
"Then, just follow me first," Ryzel said and took out his protective suit.
The protective suit they had for emergencies in the spaceships was a bit different from the protective suit that he had worn when they went to Planet 125.
The protective suit they have to wear now is more geared to surviving in space. It had more layers of protection against radiation and other things that are harmful in space.
