Chapter 147: Chapter 146: In an unknown planet 12
"Unfortunately, we can’t go back to the past and ’if’ would just remain as an ’if’."
"Yes, that’s why I will do my best so you will like me more and more each day," Layton said with determination.
"Okay, I’m looking forward to it. After a year, you can ask me again if I like you more than I like you now," Ryzel said happily.
Ryzel is really happy knowing that Layton wanted him to like him even more.
"Why wait for a year? Can’t I ask you every day from now on?"
"No. It’s better to ask me after a year because the result would be more obvious, which is better than when you are going to ask about it every day."
Just like in most research, it’s better to gather more data so that the result would be more observable than just the daily observation.
If Layton had to ask about it every day, Ryzel wouldn’t be sure if he could really give a precise answer, so it’s better to just wait for a year.
"Okay. After a year I will ask you again," Layton said and began kissing him.
In the end, the two of them couldn’t manage to stop themselves because of knowing more about each other.
Their kiss, which started slow and sweet, turned more passionate.
Their hands also started touching each other’s bodies and they enjoyed themselves until noon.
After cleaning up and eating nutrient solution for their lunch, Layton went to check the progress of Storm’s self‑repair.
Of course, Ryzel, who still didn’t want to be separated from Layton, was also carried by Layton.
When they were out of the tent, Ryzel saw that the area going to where Storm was was already covered with a transparent material, and Storm was also covered already.
No wonder Layton didn’t bother dressing him in his protective cover and he was still wearing the sexy clothes that Layton prepared.
Layton probably already arranged the transparent walkway and moved Storm a bit into a big empty tent so that they could access Storm easily.
Well, of course, it was obviously prepared for him. Layton doesn’t want him to be exposed outside without his protective cover so, knowing that they will probably visit Storm a lot of times, Layton had set up the transparent walkway and the tent.
Layton carried him with one of his hands and then jumped up to Storm’s cockpit.
When Layton turned on the monitor, they saw that the progress of Storm’s self‑repair was only 4%.
"Is it really very damaged? Its self‑repair is very slow. At this rate it would probably take very long before it could finish its self‑repair."
"It seems so. With the rate it’s showing, it would take more time than I anticipated before.
Its self‑repair would also become faster later after it repairs most of its fundamental components, but it would take more than a month before it could finish its self‑repair.
"I see. So, when are you going to start repairing its outer parts? If you start repairing them, it might repair itself faster."
Ryzel didn’t want to be separated from Layton even for a little bit but he knew that repairing Storm was very important.
So, even though he knew that he would certainly be separated from Layton when he starts working, Ryzel still asked about it.
"Yes, it would certainly help but it could only help later. I have to wait until its self‑repair reaches 50%.
Since it has a lot of dangers, it’s bad if something is pulled or further disconnected or damaged by removing its outer shell and changing some parts of it.
Storm has a more complicated structure than other mechs because of the person who made it, that’s why I can’t just touch it up.
After it finishes repairing itself by 50%, it could probably already perform a better self‑analysis so it could analyze what it really needed to be repaired or replaced.
If its self‑repair remains this slow, I will probably start repairing it after a month. If its self‑repair becomes faster, then I will probably start repairing it after 3 weeks."
"So, you can just stay with me for three weeks, right?" Ryzel asked while holding Layton’s arm tighter.
"Of course, I will. But I still have to go around and check our surroundings if there are problems captured by the small cameras that I’ve set up to monitor the areas that I had checked after going out."
"You actually set up a lot of smart cameras around. That means the areas that you have visited before were all visible, right? Can you let me see the surrounding places?"
"Of course," Layton said and then turned on his light brain which was also connected to all the cameras that he set.
Ryzel saw various squares showing different places being monitored by the smart cameras, but most of them were showing the same scenery as it is full of trees and other plants.
Only a few cameras, probably those at the edges, were showing a flat ground with a lot of shorter plants than the plants inside the forest.
"What kind of smart cameras have you set up as they were moving from time to time," Ryzel said while looking at the scenes that were shifting a bit.
"They’re designed as camouflage insects so they’re moving a bit, but they won’t be able to move away from the designated areas that they have to monitor."
"I see. So, how are you monitoring if something is wrong in our surroundings?" Ryzel asked because Layton just set the cameras and wasn’t paying attention to it at all.
He only saw Layton taking it out now, when he asked about it.
"See the symbols at the right side with colors and numbers," Layton said while pointing at the right corner of the cameras where a lot of small symbols were visible.
"For example, the red ones were all carnivores, the orange indicates omnivores, and the blue colors were all herbivores. Then the numbers were there to indicate how dangerous they might be.
These could all be shown and detected by the smart cameras that were monitoring those areas.
Then I will be alerted if they crossed the distance that I had set to maintain the safety of the place where we are at.
If they’re only small herbivores, then I won’t get any alarm, but for others my light brain would remind me.
The alarm was also set with different danger levels so I would also know if it’s really threatening.
But in the past few days, no animals have passed this area because of the sick animal that I have mentioned.
I also especially marked that animal so as long as it moves towards us, I’ll know about it immediately."
"It would be better if that animal doesn’t come to disturb us," Ryzel said.
"It’s an intelligent one, so as long as it isn’t fully healed it probably won’t come to disturb us.
If it realized that we are also more dangerous than it is, it probably won’t attack us even after it has fully recovered."
"That’s great! You can just stay by my side without going out!" Ryzel said happily.
For the time being, Ryzel really didn’t want anyone to disturb their 2 person world as he didn’t want to be apart from Layton.
"As I said, I can certainly stay with you but be ready, because by being glued to you all day, I won’t be able to control my desire for you," Layton said while kissing him on his neck.
"I’m ready any time, that’s just what I wanted," Ryzel replied with a teasing smile to further provoke Layton.
So, they ended up kissing passionately for a long time inside Storm’s cockpit before they planned to go back to their tent.
Both of them wanted to do something more but they knew that they couldn’t move around too much inside the cockpit so they had to go back to their tent.
But before they went out of the cockpit Layton further inspected Storm and found that he really couldn’t improve anything for the time being so they went back to their tent.
Back to their tent, they had another enjoyable time, giving each other pleasure that they wanted.
And just like that, another day had passed by.
The next day, even though Ryzel still felt very bad being separated from Layton, he also wanted to start his research on plants already.
So, Ryzel started working beside Layton who put one of his hands on his waist.
Ryzel started his research by bringing out the analyzers that he was using before. Then he chose to bring out one of the plants that Layton had given to him with a lot of copies and started separating a small portion of it to the different containers on the analyzer.
He divided the plant parts like their roots, stems, leaves and other parts. Then he waited for the data analysis in his light brain.
