Chapter 20

Chapter 20: Chapter 19: Getting Married
As soon as Ryzel said okay, they went directly inside the matching center, leaving Lyre dumbfounded outside.
Ryzel and Lewis went for a match test and silently walked out of the center while waiting for the results.
Ryzel already knew who Layton was as soon as he saw him.
Layton Lewis Vespertine is the youngest general in the federation.
He fought a lot of battles against the Zergs and led all of them to victory.
He was known as the god of war by the public.
He knew Layton way back when his father was still alive.
He saw him being trained by his father whenever he went to the army with his mother.
"Ryzel! How is it? Is the result already out?" Lyre immediately asked after coming out of his shocked state and seeing Ryzel.
"Not yet; we still need to wait for three more minutes."
"That’s good; I hope the result is good," Lyre said.
"Hello, General Lewis, nice to meet you. I’m Lyre," Lyre greeted the man beside Ryzel.
"Nice to meet you, too. Thank you for always being with Ryzel."
"Huh? "Before Lyre could think of what Lewis was saying.
Ryzel said, "The result is out."
Ryzel opened the link and was dumbfounded by the result he saw.
"Hey, Ry, how’s the results? "
Ryzel didn’t answer and just showed his light brain to Lyre.
"What! Ninety-three percent (93%) match rate?!
Ry, General Lewis, you two need to get married now!
I’ll call my aircraft now. The marriage center is just a ten-minute drive away from this place.
Oh, what time is it again? 11:35 pm, we still have twenty-five minutes left!
Both of you can still get married today!"
As soon as Ryzel saw the aircraft coming, he was pulled by Lyre inside the aircraft.
"What are you both doing? Time is running out; we need to go!"
Lewis was also urged to follow Lyre.
After driving fast, almost breaking the speed limit of flying an aircraft, they arrive at the marriage registration center.
"Get out of the aircraft now; you still have fourteen minutes (14) to register your marriage.
Ry, at least my brother guarantees that General Lewis is a responsible person. I’m assured that he would be the one marrying you.
General Lewis, please take care of Ryzel from now on.
I’ll be leaving now for you guys to enjoy your marriage.
Have a happy marriage!
Advance happy birthday, Ry!
I’ll be giving your gifts later!"
Lyre left immediately after dropping them off at the marriage registration center.
Ryzel was surprised with the ninety-three percent (93%) match rate because of the seven hundred sixteen (716) failures; he wasn’t expecting a high degree of match rate anymore.
That’s why he can’t react immediately; a matching rate higher than ninety percent is considered very rare.
Only a few sentinels and guides have a very high matching rate, higher than ninety percent.
In every generation, you can only find two to five sentinel-guide pairs that have a matching rate higher than ninety percent.
He expected Lyre to be as shocked as him, and he indeed was. But he didn’t expect him to recover from his shock and immediately dragged and dropped him off at the marriage registration center.
"You have a very good friend," Lewis commented.
"Yes, Lyre is very good," Ryzel said with a smile.
"So, General Lewis."
Lewis cut Ryzel off before he could continue speaking.
"You used to call me Big Brother Layton. Just call me Layton, as you always have," Lewis said while looking at Ryzel.
"So, General Layton, I assume you agree to marry me because you just followed when Lyre dragged me to the aircraft after seeing the result of the matching test."
Ryzel still can’t say just his name. Layton didn’t pressure him either.
"Yes indeed, Ryzel, will you marry me? "Layton Lewis proposed while looking at Ryzel seriously.
"Before I answer, I want to clarify some things first.
I’m not gentle and kind; my priority probably won’t be you. Even if we get married, do you still want to marry me? "Ryzel questioned, fixing his gaze on General Layton Lewis.
"It’s okay; I don’t need my wife to be gentle and kind.
You can just be yourself. You can focus on your studies, job, or dreams.
As long as you remember that you are my guide," Layton Lewis said seriously.
"Okay, let’s get married." Ryzel agreed with the proposal with a smile.
"General Layton, let’s go and register; we only have nine minutes left," Ryzel said, then walked inside the marriage registration center.
"Okay," Layton Lewis agreed with a slight smile on his face.
"Welcome to the registration center. If you want to register your marriage, please show me the results of your matching test and your IDs." The employee on the registrar immediately said his lines politely without even looking up.
"This is our matching test results and ID," Layton shared the screen on his light brain.
Ryzel also shared the screen of his light brain, showing his ID.
The employee finally looked up and was shocked to see General Lewis. But before he could speak, Lewis silenced him with a gesture.
Ryzel was amazed at how obedient the employee was; he immediately processed everything as fast as he could.
Ryzel and Layton Lewis immediately received a confirmation of their marriage.
"I don’t know why you married me, but I married out of necessity. But I will surely do my duty as your partner from now on," Ryzel promised while looking at Layton.
"Don’t be pressured; I’ll wait for you. From now on, I will be responsible for you. You can tell me whatever you want. If you want me to help you solve your problems, just tell me," Layton Lewis also promised.
"Happy twentieth birthday, Ryzel," Layton said. Then he kissed Ryzel’s forehead.
Ryzel was surprised by the sudden kiss that he put his hands on his forehead.
Layton chuckled, looking at his silly appearance.
"Don’t laugh," Ryzel said while trying to look serious, even though his ears were actually red.
