While Lyre was starting his story the aircraft automatically controlled by Layton Lewis arrived in front of them.
Layton Lewis opened the aircraft and siad, "Get in first."
After walking inside the aircraft Ryzel saw that the aircraft was set to be as comfortable as possible. There are sofas and a lot of cushions around a coffee table inside.
Ryzel and Lyre immediately sat together on the most comfortable looking sofa in the aircraft.
Lyre began to continue saying what he was saying earlier before entering the aircraft. Lyre was even more eager what he was saying now that they are comfortably sitting on a sofa while the aircraft is in an automatic driving mode.
"How is your potion homework even related to how you discovered how to transmit your mental power through instruments?" Mervin asked.
"At that time Ryzel still had free time because he had already finished his homework so he started teaching me.
However, everytime he showed me a demonstration and even slower than the steps, and simplified the explanation and process for me to understand, I still didn’t understand how to do it.
I just couldn’t seem to understand the concept at that time so he tried looking for things that I can understand and relate it to what he was doing.
At that time, he saw the flute in my bag and remembered that I could play instruments.
Ryzel took it as an example and said that transmitting your mental power in the potion is just like playing the flute for people to hear the meaning you want to convey. You put your mental power in the potion to make them more effective and just like playing instruments to share your emotions through music.
I tried doing what Ry taught me with the flute and succeeded. I understand how to play the flute and what to convey so I just let my mental power follow it.
I still remembered that Ryzel was really dumbfounded when I succeeded in transmitting my mental power through the flute.
After succeeding in how to transmit my mental power through the flute I finally understood how to do it and succeeded in transmitting my mental power to the potions I made.
So I was able to transmit my mental power through musical instruments because of the help of Ry," Lyre said.
Ryzel could still remember that day. Ryzel can’t understand why Lyre can’t understand the principle of transmitting mental power when making potions because it comes naturally for Ryzel. So he tried to explain it in the simplest term and found an example that Lyre was familiar with.
He was really surprised how Lyre succeeded in transmitting his mental power through the flute. Transmitting mental power to musical instruments rarely happens because of how hard it is and because of its limitations.
To transmit your mental power in an instrument your mental power needs to be able to disperse after going through the instrument. You also need to be familiar and know how to play the instrument proficiently and be able to control how much mental power you are going to transmit. You also need to be a high-level guide to support the output of mental power being dispersed.
Very few guides were able to transmit their mental power in other objects because a lot of prerequisites are required to do it but Lyre was able to do it in one try which is really surprising.
"You succeeded in one try. That’s amazing," Mervin praised Lyre, He then asked, "How were you able to hide that talent until now?"
"After knowing that I can transmit my mental power in musical instruments, my parents asked me to practice with them first so no one knows I am able to do it.
I often practice with my parents on how effective it is and I practiced with Ry on how to control my mental power output.
Speaking of that, Ryzel is really a good teacher when it comes to controlling mental power output. He even learned how to play the flute so that he can help me in controlling my mental power output."
"So, Ryzel, you also know how to play the flute?" Layton Lewis who was just listening asked.
"Yes, and that’s the only instrument I know how to play," Ryzel answered.
"He also learned how to transmit his mental power using the flute. Even though he didn’t learn it as fast as me. Ry learned it in a very short time afterwards he started teaching me how to control my mental power output," Lyre added.
"I just learned it because Lyre wasn’t able to properly control his mental output. I needed to be able to transmit my mental power in an instrument for me to teach him properly," Ryzel explained.
"That’s amazing. Both of you can actually transmit your mental power through musical instruments," Mervin sincerely praised them.
Being able to transmit your mental power through musical instruments are very rare but they are much needed especially in the military.
The numbers of guides in the federation have always not been enough. To stabilize or to clean the pollutants on the mental sea of sentinels having a guide need to have a one on one guiding with the guide.
That’s why potions are very important as the number of guides isn’t enough. Potions are used as a substitute.
However they can’t use potions if it isn’t necessary because there are still some pollutants on the potions which would then be accumulated everytime they took potions.
That’s guides who have the ability to do group guiding have always been fought over by different armies. Having a guide who could do group guiding is very helpful especially in times of war.
The guides who can do group guiding can provide immediate relief for a lot of people before it is too late when they are very critically near going into mania.
Before they could lose their mind, guides who could do group guiding can instantly alleviate their problems even if it is only for a short time for them to have the chance to take potions or have their own guide help them afterwards.
The presence of a guide that can do group guiding is a very big relief for all the sentinels who are fighting for their lives.
Once the army sighted a guide who was capable of doing so they would make ways for them to stay at the army.
Different armies would also fight for it so most of the time the army who knew about the guide first would be given priority to woo that guide to stay in their army as long as that guide is still single.
If the guide is already married he would of course follow the army where his/her sentinel is.
If the guide is still unmarried most of the time they would introduce different sentinels that are considered great to try and match the guide to get him in their army.
Even though it is said that the army who knew it first would be given priority if their sentinels don’t have the ability to woo the guide then it can only be their problem the guide would be in another army.
Guides who can do group guiding are really rare and they can do a lot as long as their mental strength can handle it. Even if they get married there would be no problem in transmitting their mental power to others and they can still effectively guide sentinels on a large scale.
Married guides will have a restriction on how they would guide others because their mental power is already bound with another sentinel.
The sentinels could still feel the power of the sentinels’ mental power through the guide because they are already linked. That’s why they would be more uncomfortable when they receive guidance especially if they are bound to strong sentinels.
The married sentinels could often only help sentinels that are on the same level as their own sentinels because at least they could endure the coercion they could feel from the bond of the other sentinel.
That’s why a lot of armies would often dispatch their people once they heard a rumor of a guide who can do group guiding.
The ninth army also often dispatched their people once they learned some rumors about it because it can affect the survival rate of their soldiers.
Ryzel and Lyre who can do group guiding without arousing a rumor was really surprising.
"How did you guys even practice your skills for no one to know that you two can do group guiding?" Mervin asked.
"Well we often practice in Ry’s laboratory because it is soundproof and he is already known as a workaholic so others wouldn’t doubt anything working even if we stayed there for a long time. Ry was also not too interested in it, so he often only practiced for a short while before going back to his research," Lyre explained.
