Layton Lewis bent downward and held Ryzel’s chin upward for them to meet eye to eye and asked again, "No take backs. Ryzel, are you sure you are ready?"
Ryzel looked at Layton Lewis’ eyes and felt as if he was captured by a very dangerous creature. He could see in Layton Lewis’ eyes that as soon as he agreed he could no longer escape whatever was coming.
Ryzel wasn’t sure of what would happen to him, but he still agreed resolutely, "Yes, I am sure, I am sure."
He isn’t an indecisive person so as long as he thought of it rationally and already thought of all that may happen, he wouldn’t change a decision he already decided on.
As soon as Layton Lewis heard his answer, he was immediately kissed on his lips gently but with full of aggression.
Ryzel was surprised with the sudden kiss but still clumsily responded as he already made his decision. As soon as he responded, Layton Lewis kissed him even harder.

"W-wait a minute, can I take a shower first?" Ryzel said while holding Layton Lewis’ shoulder. They went outside a while ago and even though he didn’t do anything mostly stayed in the aircraft he still wanted to shower before doing anything else.
Layton Lewis looked at him and said, "Ok, then let’s go and take a shower first."
"I can take a shower by myself," Ryzel said firmly.
Even though he already agreed and was ready can’t Layton Lewis give him a few minutes to prepare thoroughly.
Hearing his refusal, Layton Lewis chuckled.
"Ryzel I said no take backs, and you agreed," Layton Lewis said while going directly to the bathroom, thoroughly ignoring what Ryzel said.

Ryzel awoke the next day with severe soreness throughout his entire body.
He knew that it would take a long time to establish a mental lock with their high matching rate but he didn’t expect that it would take a very long time for it to be established.
To establish a mental lock, a guide and a sentinel needed to leave an imprint in each other’s mental sea. The mental lock can only be said to be successfully established once the symbol of each of their quantum beasts appears on each other’s bodies.
To leave an imprint, both of them should be capable of entering each other’s mental sea which is easier when they have a higher matching rate.
The guide and the sentinel needed to enter each other’s mental sea which is easier when both of them are in intimate contact because their resonance to each other would be higher.
Kissing each other won’t be enough to stimulate each other’s resonance.
When establishing a mental lock a guide and a sentinel needed to have a deeper physical connection with each other which basically means having sex with each other.
A mental lock can only be done when a sentinel and a guide reach at least 30% matching rate which is why it is used as a threshold for marriage.
Establishing a mental lock can also only be done once for a pair. A guide or a sentinel can’t establish a mental lock with other guides or sentinels as long as they already have a mental lock.
Establishing a mental lock needed a high matching rate, a deep physical connection, and it can only be done for a pair. That’s why establishing a mental lock can only be done by couples.
For guides, having a mental lock means having an extra layer of protection. A guide’s mental strength and quantum beasts aren’t suitable for combat unlike sentinels.
Having a mental lock means that they can summon their partners’ quantum beast for at least three times before needing to enhance the lock again.
For sentinels, having a mental lock means having peace. Due to their heightened senses they are always plagued with the constant noise around them.
Having a mental lock means that they could control their senses as they liked and won’t hear anymore noises they don’t want to hear.
Due to the mental lock they would also have a layer of protection against the radiation and other pollutants when fighting Zergs.
Their vulnerable mental sea would have an extra layer of protection depending on the strength of their guide’s mental power and won’t easily be polluted.
Establishing a mental lock has more benefits for sentinels than to guides which is very obvious to all.
The federation is still resisting the invasion of the Zergs which is why having a mental lock means having a higher chance of survival for the sentinels on the battlefield. That is also why in the marriage law it is required for a sentinel and guide to establish a mental lock after marriage.
They even gave 48 hours as a time limit and an observation if some people don’t comply for all the sentinel-guide pairs to establish a mental lock for the benefit of the federation.
Even though guides have dissatisfaction with the rule as they needed to establish one as soon as they got married they can’t really say anything about it as they still wanted to live in peace.
That’s also why being in a relationship with each other before marriage is highly encouraged because they needed to establish a mental lock just after marriage.
Those that marry others while not knowing their partners would of course have more scruples but they can’t do anything and just follow the rules set by the federation.
So for Ryzel it is really a very good thing to marry someone he still knew even though they married at the last minute.

Before the appearance of the symbols the guide and the sentinels needed to continuously engage with each other for a higher resonance and a faster establishment of the mental lock.
Establishing an imprint on each other’s mental sea is very easy for sentinels and guides who have a high matching rate but it would take a long time for their symbols to materialize which Ryzel finally understood.
Materializing the symbols of each other’s quantum beast needs their mental power to be fused together with each other’s bodies.
That’s why it would take longer for those who have a higher matching rate because the ones they would need to fill would be larger.
Ryzel knew that it would take longer to establish a mental lock for those that have a high matching rate but he didn’t expect it to be too long.
The mental lock between him and Layton Lewis was only established when it was already dawn.
He opened his eyes and tried moving his body but he could feel the soreness of his body as soon as he moved.
A sentinel’s prowess in bed can’t really be underestimated, especially for a sentinel with a very high level.
As their level indicated the higher the level the higher their physical strength is. Layton Lewis as the god of war has a very high mental power and physique level.
He wasn’t sure how high it was as it was only shown as S level in public but he was sure that it was higher than S level.
His physique level can be said to be very low so he was sure that Layton Lewis was holding back but even though he was holding back the time to establish the mental lock still took very long which is why he can’t even bear to move his body.
Ryzel remembered that his father once warned him that all sentinels are hiding their own beast so he needed to be careful once he differentiated as a guide. He didn’t understand it at that point in time but now he finally understood it.
Sentinels do turn into beasts as long as they face their own guide especially at night.
Layton Lewis always has a cold face in front of other people. In front of him he isn’t as cold as when he faced others and even treated him gently.
When they are establishing a mental lock he Layton Lewis showed another side of himself that is neither cold nor gentle but full of possession.
At least Ryzel now knew that Layton Lewis can also have that kind of expression when looking at himself.
As he was thinking of what happened last night he heard the door being opened, and Layton Lewis entering.
As soon as Layton Lewis saw him looking at himself he said, "finally awake? How are you feeling?"
