Chapter 1373: Part 1: Drawing out
From MC’s Perspective
After watching the news stating that people had gathered outside the gate in large numbers, I stopped watching the news and placed the device back on the table.
Then I began to rest. I had trust in the Purple Mark Guard. He would take care of everything.
Time passed,
That midnight, the crowd finally started to disperse. They had waited for so long, yet they weren’t able to see Zack Lockwood.
Now, they had to go back home as well. So, the people started leaving one after another. The crowd completely dispersed a few minutes later.
On the other hand, the Purple Mark Guard was on the rooftop. He had watched the whole thing. The running of the illegal fighting arena was unexpected.
The following day,
I got out of bed. I was about to follow my daily schedule when I heard some noise from outside. I turned around and found that the window was slightly open.
Then I walked up to the half-open window. I saw the noise was coming from outside the main gate. There were warriors standing outside the main gate.
Among them, there were ers as well. Seeing that, my eyes flashed with a glint. Don’t tell me they have been waiting here since last night.
It appeared it would be difficult to go outside today. But I would have to do it. Only then could I lure out many big fish. Then, the mission to this city would be completed.
Then I shifted my attention and started doing my morning routine.
Meanwhile,
Manager Maren and the staff were completely exhausted. They were doing the night shift and morning shift continuously.
It was because the people gathered outside were threatening to barge inside the hotel at any moment.
Though no one dared to think about it because the hotel was jointly run by the 10 families.
Still, they were being cautious. If one of them caused a problem, then it would be troublesome.
“Damn it. They keep coming,” Maren said in a grave tone.
Hearing that, the staff were getting annoyed as well. They wanted to go back to their homes.
Not only were the people outside causing problems, but the guests here also wanted to meet Zack Lockwood.
They had denied their requests so far, but it couldn’t be guaranteed that they would remain silent.
One of the staff asked, “Manager, what would happen if Zack Lockwood wanted to go outside?”
Hearing that, Maren frowned. She didn’t want that to happen.
“Let’s just hope he won’t do that. We can’t stop him,” Maren said.
Then they parted ways and started doing their own work.
A few hours later,
I left the hotel room and came to the hotel lobby wearing a face mask. The admin desk was busy. There were quite a few people in front of it.
I ignored them and walked out of the hotel. Then I walked towards the main gate. There were people outside waiting for Zack Lockwood to appear.
They saw a masked man walking out casually. He approached the gate to come out. Seeing that, they didn’t suspect the person could be Zack Lockwood.
This was because the aura of the person was dense silver. So, they gave him a way to go outside.
On the other hand, the people’s actions surprised me. I had thought at least one of them would be suspicious of me. But they wouldn’t have imagined I would come here like this.
Then I walked through the gap and reached the other side. I started walking on foot. I was going to roam around the city, and I was not going to use the cab service today.
I had made up my mind to complete the mission as soon as possible. In order to do that, I had to lure out the big fish.
Meanwhile,
The Purple Mark Guard was waiting for Zack Lockwood to come out. But he didn’t expect him to come out this early. Not only that, he saw that kid walk through the crowd without exposing his identity.
His mouth twitched. He realized that the kid was doing this to lure out people. The crowd at the front gate was fooled by the kid, but he didn’t think those who were hidden in the dark thought the same.
Swoosh!
He shifted his body and disappeared from the rooftop. He was following Zack Lockwood.
About 20 minutes later,
I came to the area where I killed the Gold Mark Warrior from the Klein Family. Like always, this place was empty.
There were no people roaming here at this moment.
Suddenly, I felt a piercing cold gaze on my back. The gaze was enough to make me shudder.
“Purple Mark Warrior,” I thought.
An old man with an unsightly face appeared before Zack Lockwood. There was a dark purple aura radiating behind him. It was enough proof that the old man was a Purple Mark Warrior.
Swoosh!
Without saying anything, the old man appeared in an instant before Zack Lockwood. He then tried to remove the mask.
At the same time, my heart stirred. Even with the help of perception, I couldn’t catch the movements.
Tud!
The next second, the Purple Mark Guard appeared out of nowhere. He grabbed the old man’s hand right away.
“Who?” The old man asked. His face changed drastically.
He saw a middle-aged man in a black uniform. But the uniform had the emblem of Star University. The old man’s expression changed drastically.
His eyes filled with fear. Not only that, he saw the aura of the person in front of him. The middle-aged man had a dark purple aura with a mix of red aura in it.
When the old man saw the red aura, he knew his fate was sealed.
“What is a half-step Red Mark Warrior doing here?” he thought.
Swoosh!
The Purple Mark Guard took him somewhere instead of fighting here. He had already sensed other warriors were on their way here. But there were no Purple Mark Warriors.
He thought Zack Lockwood could handle the rest of them.
At the same time, a huge weight lifted off my shoulder.
