Apocalypse system: I have unparallel comprehension-Chapter 45 - Artisan

Chapter 45

Chapter 45: Chapter 45 - Artisan
Dante sat on the table and waited for the food to arrive. The kitchen was composed of two sessions.
Free session and paid session.
The ground floor was where you could eat the food for free. He was now on the first floor because he wanted to eat more lavishly.
He paid about 20 points and got the set for breakfast.
Soon, the earlier kid arrived and served him.
He saw bacon, eggs, bread and coffee. He didn’t usually have this kind of breakfast but he supposed eating meat bored his taste.
He ate the breakfast quietly and went to the training area as his eyes saw really interesting things.
Julius and the red haired man were facing each other. Each held a wooden sword.
Dante pushed himself into the crowd.
"I am Julius." Julius said in a clear voice. "I wish to see your sword."
The red haired man nodded with a serious expression.
Dante asked at the man beside him. "Is he strong?"
"Who? Julius? Never seen him before. I heard that he is the friend of the chief’s son. So he must be strong." The man answered without looking at him.
"Sorry, I mean the other guy." Dante asked.
The man puzzled and looked at Dante. He didn’t recognize Dante.
"Moist? He is the strongest human in this castle." The man said. "He is strong enough to take on the Union’s leader. Without the Prodigy, we would be free from them with Moist strength."
’His name is Moist?’ Dante said to himself. He didn’t do what he expected but it was definitely not moist.
’But strong enough to face the Union’s leader? This is a bold claim.’
He watched as the two swordsmen took a stance.
Moist was older than Julius. He was about 30 but his hair color lightened the years a lot, making him appear 25. He was a handsome man like every other person in the castle.
He drew the sword in carefree manner and judged Julius.
Julius didn’t take that as an insult and began to attack. Julius’s movements were sharp and well placed.
It was like watching a man doing his job. There was no flaw in it but it lacked substance.
Dante always thought Julius could be more than that. Julius was too focused on his role as the protector and lacked the individual charm.
Dante observed the fight silently.
Julius pushed and Moist dodged everything with grace. He was slower than Julius and yet easily dodged everything.
Slowly, the tempo of the fight intensified. Moist started to attack as well. His sword travelled smoothly and was parried by Julius.
Dante was enchanted by it. It was like a dance, controlled by Moist.
Suddenly, the dance concluded as the sword stopped on Julius’s neck.
Julius let out a breath and dropped the sword.
"It was a good exercise." Moist smiled and left the area.
Julius looked back at Moist’s back, feeling defeated.
Dante nodded inwardly. He was certain, Julius lacked the charm. Right now, he is too rigid. He let out a sigh and walked away from the crowd.
He wanted to give Julius some advice but he knew Julius didn’t need it.
Dante saw Shizuku coming out from the main building. She was walking with two people.
The scout and the familiar strange man named Wallace.
Shizuku saw Dante and came to him.
"Good morning." Dante said.
"Someone is happy. Is the breakfast that good?" Wallace said in monotone.
Dante glanced at the man. "Aren’t you tired?"
"Always." Wallace gave a quick answer.
"You guys know each other?" Shizuku said.
"We are good friends." Dante said with a smile.
"Without my consent." Wallace sighed. "I will be your tour guide."
Shizuku nodded and left with the scout.
Dante looked at the scout.
"Fancy her?" Wallace asked.
Dante turned toward the scrawny man. "Heck no."
"That is rude to the lady."
"I just want to know her name and her Class. She seems mysterious."
Wallace nodded, agreeing with this.
"Her name is Liora. Let’s see about her Class." Wallace muttered and squinted his eyes.
"Her Class is Silent Watcher. I can’t see the profession."
"Do you know why?" Dante asked.
"Her level is high or she has some kind of protective skill." Wallace answered.
Dante decided to leave the scout, no , Liora for now. His goal for today was to meet with the Artisan.
"I want to see Artisan, Wallance," he said.
"Oh. Of course." Wallace said and walked toward the main building.
Dante followed him.
Wallace stopped at the giant door and opened it. There was a stair behind the door, circling downward. Wallace grabbed the torch from the wall and lit up with mana.
"Watch the steps. Notan liked to pull some strings on the visitor." Wallace said, his eyes glared up.
Dante saw mana built up in his eyes. Wallace likely used his skill to see clearly in this darkness. He probably took the torch for Dante.
How considerate.
Wallace seemed to be more than a guard. But the man was too carefree to be considered an important person in this castle.
Dante saw a series of traps laid on the way.
They reached the underground and saw a pile of trash.
"You guys need to clean this trash." Dante said.
"We tried but Notan said, he still has some use."
After walking for a bit, Dante saw a young man working something on the big table. He wore cartoonishly large goggles and crafting something.
Wallace turned back at Dante and put a finger on his lips. "Don’t make too much noise."
"I can hear you, Wallace."
"Hey, Note. Don’t be too shy. Come and give this old man a hug." Wallace immediately smiled. It didn’t suit him.
Dante rolled his eyes and backed away as his eyes showed that Notan was preparing something.
Notan stopped his work and lifted up the goggles. He then fired a needle at Wallace.
It pierced through the flesh and Dante saw the man shiver. He paused and turned to Dante.
"I have to go to the toilet." He said in a hurry.
Dante nodded. "Sure."
Wallace immediately turned back, grabbing his ass, and began to run.
Dante chuckled at the prank.
"What is that?" He asked.
Notan held out a gun and said, "It shoots a needle compacted with the simple spell called instant diarrhea."
Dante lifted up both of his arms and waved. "Don’t shit at me."
A wicked smile formed on Notan’s face and without a pause he fired the gun, aiming at Dante.
Dante channeled mana around his arms and activated the
Swift
Rush
. His hand blurred and caught the needle.
He looked at the needle and studied the spell.
His eyes widened as he saw the genius of the needle. There was no such thing as an instant diarrhea spell. He hoped.
The needle was compacted with a complex rune or pathway. When pierced into the flesh, the rune or pathway would travel through the body and reach the brain, effectively controlling the person.
But in this case, it used to make people shit.
"That is a scary spell." Dante said.
"It is not." Notan said, again working on something.
Dante crushed the needle with his physical strength and threw it to the trash pile. He sincerely wished that someone wouldn’t encounter this needle.
He walked to the table and grabbed the nearby seat.
"I suggest you leave." Notan said, without looking up.
Dante smiled and didn’t say any words. He silently observed Notan’s work. He was about 18 years old, a short kid.
His mana was weak that with a flick of his hand, Dante would probably kill him. But he didn’t dare to underestimate the kid.
Underneath the weak body and mana, there were many runes engraved in it. He thought Thomas was crazy and he was alone in that.
But Notan might rival that craziness.
"Do you like tattoos?" Dante asked.
Notan paused his words and turned to Dante with a surprised look. He dropped his tool and lifted up his goggles.
His eyes went serious.
"Your eyes." Notan said slowly. "You saw it. Your eyes. It is... it is."
"Who are you? What are you?" .
"Slow down. You are making me uncomfortable." Dante said, scratching his head.
Notan’s eyes widened again. This time, he couldn’t seem to contain and grabbed Dante’s left arm.
He stared at the black ring. His mouth trembled in excitement.
He looked at Dante and asked. "Can you take it out? I want to check."
Dante sighed and complied with the request. His goal with the meeting was related to the ring as he couldn’t find a way to use the mental effect of the ring.
He wasn’t worried about Notan taking the ring.
Notan checked the ring and nodded to himself. He took out a book and started drawing. Dante silently waited.
The process lasted for a whole hour.
Notan gave the ring back to Dante.
"What do you see?" Dante asked.
"It is a powerful ring. I haven’t even comprehended one percent of the rune." Notan said sulkily. The feeling didn’t last as he remembered Dante.
"You see my runes right?" Notan asked, this time there was no surprise.
Dante nodded. "It is scary. I don’t know humans can do that."
Notan chuckled drily. "For survival, humanity is the easiest thing one can give up. Anyway, what do you want from me? You must be an important person for Wallace to guide you here."
