Edith was shocked to suddenly find herself enjoying this kiss, despite having had a fight with Callum. She wanted to end the kiss immediately, but somehow, the longer she did, the more she enjoyed it. Was this a sign that her heart belonged to Callum completely? Even though her heart was already with Callum, was Callum worthy of being the father of her twins after seeing the DNA test results that exceeded her expectations?
The prolonged kiss had become increasingly heated, forcing them to end it quickly. Edith immediately looked away while continuing to compress her bruised cheek.
"Don’t misunderstand. I actually did it because it was my duty."
Callum smiled mischievously, wiping his lover’s slightly damp lips from his deliciously caressing them. "Since when is kissing a duty?"
"There are situations where kissing is a chore. For example, actors and actresses kissing in dramas. Are they kissing because they truly love each other? Of course, they do it out of necessity."
"So, what did you feel when you kissed me earlier?"
"I definitely did it out of necessity."
Callum laughed so hard his stomach ached. "Edith, if you really had to do it, why did you let me eat you earlier?"
Edith blinked nervously as she put the ice cubes on the tray. She lay back down on the bed and turned away from her lover’s face.
"Because I really can’t do anything else. You overdid it earlier, making me breathless!"
Callum also lay down, hugging his lover tightly. "I don’t care if the DNA test shows I’m not the father of your twins. But I’m keeping you here. You have to stay at my house every day."
Edith rolled her eyes as she turned back to face her lover. "Are you crazy? You’re so possessive!"
"Do you know why my cheek is suddenly bruised?"
"Could it be that you really are fighting over the DNA test results? Did you fight with the hospital staff?" Her right hand caressed her lover’s still red cheek. "I don’t like seeing you hurt. Don’t misunderstand. I’m worried about you because I still consider you a friend."
Hearing his lover’s nonsensical jokes made him laugh so hard his stomach ached. "Edith, after we kissed, do you still think of me as a friend?"
"I mean, I consider the kiss just an obligation as a sign of our friendship. You always misunderstand!"
Callum nodded, still laughing contentedly. "Then, let me ask you a question. If your friend Cliff suddenly wanted to kiss you, would you say yes?"
Although the question sounded simple, it was difficult for Edith because her words had backfired. She found it hard to imagine kissing another man. When she kissed Callum, she felt so comfortable that she wanted to do it again. If she dared to say it openly to Callum, then Callum would definitely misunderstand even more.
"Actually, I was just–"
"I knew you just wanted to kiss me." Callum stood up for a moment, grabbing a plate filled with various side dishes and rice. "By the way, I made dinner for you. I cooked your favorite food."
Her cheeks grew even redder as she stared at all the food menus provided on the tray. "You don’t need to bother cooking for me."
"I actually really enjoy cooking for you. Moreover, our favorite food is the same." Callum winked casually as he took a spoonful of rice and side dishes. "I want to feed you."
"I don’t need to be fed! I can eat by myself. Besides, you’re not my husband."
"You better not be stubborn. You’ll regret it later."
When Callum fed her, she admitted she really enjoyed it and felt familiar with the situation. She felt like Callum fed her often, even though this was the first time he had fed her. If only she had her memories back, she could solve this mystery more easily.
After finishing dinner, Edith had fun with her twins and also shared the DNA test results which showed that Erdin was Eliana’s twin brother.
Eliana was overjoyed to finally find his older brother, who had been ed dead. Now she no longer felt lonely.
"Great, if Erdin is my brother, does that mean Uncle Callum is my dad?"
Edith currently doesn’t dare answer because she still doubts the DNA test results. Of course, she wants to investigate further. For some reason, she still doesn’t believe the DNA test results, even though she’s been arguing with Callum.
"Of course I am your father, Eliana," Callum said, suddenly appearing in his pajamas and refreshing hair that made Edith’s eyes sparkle.
Edith shook her head again, clearing her throat. "Eliana, actually—"
Eliana let his father carry him as he spun around happily. Watching her daughter happily play with Callum made Edith even more reluctant to separate Callum and Eliana. Although Eliana had only just met Callum, they already seemed as close as father and daughter.
"Eliana, it’s getting late. How about we go home?"
Eliana pouted her lips as she wrapped her tiny arms around her father’s neck. "But I still want to play with daddy. Shouldn’t we be staying with daddy?"
Erdin also didn’t want to be outdone by his younger sibling’s spoiled behavior. He kept gesticulating at his mother’s right hand. "Mom, why don’t you want to stay at our house?"
Edith looked at her son with pity as she crouched down slowly. "My son, I didn’t mean to say I didn’t want to stay here."
"I want to live with daddy! I like living here!" Eliana cried loudly.
Callum patted his daughter’s back rhythmically. "My daughter, don’t worry, I won’t kick you out. If anyone else doesn’t like us living together, I’ll still defend you and your mother."
"I want to live with mom too! I don’t like living in a lonely house."
"Callum, aren’t you being too harsh saying things like that to the kids?"
"No. Actually, I’m looking for support. If the kids really want us to live together, then you should follow my wishes."
Edith rolled her eyes and slapped her forehead. "Actually, it’s because they still don’t understand adult issues."
"Isn’t it more likely that you still don’t understand our problem?"
