Despite only being separated from Callum for about an hour, Edith began to miss him because he was being too sweet to her. Having had a nightmare last night about the accident they had five years ago, she began to fear losing him someday. For now, she still maintained her prideful attitude of wanting to be cold to Callum, even though lately her heart had grown increasingly resistant to that prideful attitude.
Besides missing her lover, she also missed her twins. Finally, she could play the role of secret nanny again. It had been a long time since she had set foot in school during the day. Watching her twins run towards her made her remember the memory. Of course, she also welcomed them by squatting down and holding out her arms.
"Mom!!" the twins shouted enthusiastically, hugging their mother.
Edith also smiled happily as she watched her twins enthusiastically approach her. She hadn’t enjoyed this beautiful sight in a long time, having been so focused on work lately. She felt guilty for seeming to ignore her twins.
"I miss you guys so much."
"We miss you so much, Mom," Erdin and Eliana said in unison.
"By the way, are you guys mad because I’ve been too busy working lately?"
Eliana shook her head quickly. "No. In fact, we were really worried about you. We were afraid you’d get sick."
Erdin nodded. "Especially since Mom often works until midnight. Dad’s been really worried about you all this time."
"Is it true?"
"When Dad read us fairy tales, he looked sad and always said Mom worked too hard," Eliana said in a weary tone.
"Even when I play with cars with dad, he always doesn’t focus on playing with me."
Hearing s from the twins about Callum, Edith felt even more guilty for causing so much worry. She had always been selfish, thinking only of herself, even though so many people loved and cared about her. From now on, she wanted to change her mindset, as she now had someone who truly cared about her.
"I’m sorry. Instead, I’ll play with you guys today."
"But, aren’t you still tired because you haven’t slept lately?" Eliana asked, blinking innocently.
Edith rested her chin on her hands. "Actually, I’m not that tired, thanks to your father always scolding me. I still want to play with you guys." A brilliant idea suddenly occurred to her as she flipped her shirt collar. "How about we go for a swim?"
"That’s great! I’ve always wanted to swim with Mom!" Erdin cheered, jumping up and down.
Edith also giggled as she looked at her adorable son, who wanted to swim with her. "Okay, then we should go home now. After lunch, we’ll play in the water."
After lunch with the kids at Callum’s house, she was now wearing a one-piece swimsuit with ruffled shoulders. She hadn’t expected Callum to buy her such a beautiful swimsuit, the models usually wear for summer fashion shows. Her cheeks flushed as she looked in the mirror.
Now she was ready to splash around with the kids in the residence’s indoor pool. She descended the stairs one by one, carrying a towel and bathrobe. As she entered the indoor pool area, her twins were already enthusiastically putting on arm floats while warming up.
Edith took a moment to place her towel and bathrobe on the recliner, then warmed up as well. "It turns out you guys are really enthusiastic about swimming with me."
"Of course, it’s been a long time since I’ve swam with Mom, too. Especially since we’ve been swimming with so many people," Eliana said, stretching her arms out.
"Then, dad also wanted to swim with mom all this time," Erdin continued with a chuckle.
Hearing Callum brought up again by her son, her body grew increasingly hot, making her impatient to dive into the pool. She had only warmed up for a few minutes.
In the end, she was the one who jumped into the pool first, then stretched out her arms to look at her twins who were still standing on the edge of the pool.
"Come on, you guys should jump in the pool too! Don’t worry, you won’t drown because—"
Before she could finish her sentence, her twins jumped into the pool simultaneously. They both burst out laughing, splashing water enthusiastically in their mother’s face.
Edith didn’t complain as her twins continued to splash water on her face. Instead, she responded to her twins’ mischief by enthusiastically splashing water on their faces.
"So the reason you want to swim with me is because you want to play water fights with me, huh!"
Eliana burst out laughing, splashing water in her mother’s face nonstop. "I want to play water fights with Erdin too. I want to be on the same team as him."
"So, I have to face you all alone?" Edith rolled her eyes. "Kids, you’re guaranteed to win because I’m alone, and your father will be home after we’ve had our fill of water play."
Still, her twins paid her no attention. They continued to attack her until the pool water entered her nostrils. Not only did they play water fights, but they also played tag in the pool, swimming instead of running. They played to their heart’s content until the evening.
As night fell, Callum was finally able to return home peacefully after serving VIP guests at his hotel. He wondered what his girlfriend and his twins were doing. Hearing the laughter of his girlfriend and his children from the poolside, he quickly walked towards the pool area. His gaze fell on the mother and children happily playing in the water, making him incredibly envious. How lucky the children were to be able to swim with such a beautiful woman, while he was busy working.
Edith’s gaze fell on her lover, who had just returned from work. A mischievous smile spread across her beautiful face. "Kids, it’s getting late, so we should end our game now."
Callum pursed his lips. "So, what about me? I haven’t played with you yet."
