Bloodbound to the Beastly King-Chapter 179 - 179

Chapter 179

The king was here.
Carter's heart thundered against his chest. This wasn't how it was supposed to play out. He had it all planned. He would face the king when the realm crumbles. To have Thorne look at him and realize what a fool
he'd been. But now…now, his dream would not materialize.
His gaze snapped to Radek, Alma, and the beasts. "We must leave! Before the king—"
His words were cut off sharply by the ground trembling. They couldn't see anything…there was a thick cloud of dust, hindering their gaze.
The moment dragged slow….The dust slowly disappeared and when they could see, They all stood, frozen to their core.
There were hundreds of wolves…all of their gaze on them, waiting as though they were waiting for a command.
"Carter!" Thorne's voice echoed through the air. Carter's mouth dried up of saliva instantly, he took a step back, fear engulfing his entire being.
The wolves parted to the sides and right in the middle was Thorne.
Thorne's gaze fell on the one person that mattered in all of this. There she was, standing, heaving, bloody and battered, but alive. Thorne's face hardened with rage, his jaw clenched so tight a vein pulsed at his temple.
"Carter," Thorne spat the name like venom, "How dare you?"
Carter stepped forward, standing his ground. No matter how much he feared the king at this moment. He would never back down. He wasn't a coward.
"Thorne Rhukor!" He called and Thorne's nose flared.
"You weren't supposed to be here. Not yet. You should've stayed in that palace of yours and continue to brood over those you've lost. You shouldn't have come…but it's good you did. Now, you get to say goodbye to your beloved Adina."
Thorne's eyes flashed red, "Today, I will live by the realm's words. No mercy for traitors and you, Carter, are a traitor." The moment the words left his lips, his wolves descended on them.
Carter's beasts were quick to jump in, fighting the wolves. The place erupted into blood and growls. The clash shook the ground as they fought.
Thorne didn't move at first. He only kept his gaze locked on Carter with killing intent. "You'll die by my hands. Carter." He growled, bones cracking as he shifted into his wolf.
Carter gritted his teeth, running before the king could catch up to him, but the wound in his shoulder throbbed. His beasts weren't enough. They weren't trained for war, not like this. He glanced at Alma who was still clutching her cloak tight, looking around in fear.
He couldn't see the king and he had to make it out of here alive. "Protect the core!" He yelled, reaching for it in his cloak just as Thorne lunged at him.
But as the gods would have it, Carter's hands slipped and the core fell out, rolling across the grounds where the wolves and beasts were fighting. Its light glowing even in the battlefield.
Alma's eyes widened greedily the second she saw it. She dove for it like a vulture.
"No!" Kora screamed seeing the woman about to grab it. She instead lunged towards Alma, intercepting the witch mid-leap.
The two collided hard, crashing into the ground harshly, the core tumbled away further from them.
"Gods above!" Alma hissed but is tackled by Kora who jumps over her, straddling her in place.
Kora dug her nails deeper into Alma's cheek, scratching her face. The witch shrieked, thrashing under her grip as she tried to fling Kora off.
"You filthy little mutt!" Alma spat, "I'll peel the flesh from your bones!"
Kora slammed the witch's head against the ground, once, twice, until Alma's eyes rolled. "Try me, bitch!"
But in the scuffle, the core fell further across the field. Adina's gaze fell on it and she immediately leapt for it—just as Radek's shadow loomed over it, his hand stretched out, about to grab it.
Adina lunged for him instead, pushing him out of the way even as she fell harder. She immediately got back on her feet, Radek was opposite her and the core….in the middle.
"This is not your place, Adina. You should've continued being the king's bitch but instead you just had to be the sage." His gaze burned into hers. "I'm giving you an out. Turn and leave. Never return. That way, you won't be sacrificed for the dark lord's awakening."
Adina huffed, "Take that 'out', Radek. Turn and leave and maybe, just maybe I won't have to tear that filthy head off yours off your miserable body."
Radek scoffed, shaking his head and in a second, he lunged forward. Adina had been anticipating his move and he when he lunged for the core. She did too.
Her fingers grabbed the core at the same moment his claws did.
The core, even with how hard it looked on the outside was fragile.
The core broke in half, sending a shockwave through the crypt.
Adina lunged at Radek again and the other half of the core fell right out his hands. The two of them tumbled away.
Alma's eyes went wide at the sight. She shoved Kora off and leaped for the broken half of the core. She snatched it before Adina or Radek could reach for it. and before any of them could reach for her. She was gone, vanished into the air.
Adina's head whipped toward the last half of the core still glowing faintly on the ground.
Radek staggered to his feet, snarling. "Mine." He lunged.
But before he could get to her, She grabbed the broken core, and without hesitation, without thought—she shoved it into her mouth, grinding hard on it with her teeth and swallowed.
The second the core slid down her throat, everything froze.
A violent surge of power ripped through her body. She screamed loudly, her eyes shut tight, black veins strained against her skin. She fell to her knees, head snapped up to the sky even as she screamed.
Thorne who had been fighting Carter paused, eyes snapping towards Adina. His heart sank and in that brief moment. A battered, broken Carter managed to slip out of his grasp.
The collar around Adina's neck snapped apart, falling to the ground with a clank.
Adina opened her eyes as she rose, Her aura was dark, her energy filled her body in waves. It was angry, loose, and absolutely terrifying.
Radek froze. His claws, once aimed to rip her apart, trembled. His eyes widened with horror when her gaze settled on him. He took a staggering step backward, "No… no, no—"
Adina stepped forward, eyes as dark as the soul of a demon. Radek's pants soaked wet, his bladder was a mess.
She smirked and he fell down, body trembling even as he tried backing away.
"Adina— C-Come out of it. This isn't you. Y-you're good. A sage. Y-you can't—"
His words were stuck in his throat as Adina stood over him, staring at him. "I told you, Radek. I told you to take your 'out' or I'll rip you to shreds. You didn't take your chance."
Radek trembled, looking around for Carter, the beasts, the witch… someone to help but…no one was there to save him.
"A-A-Adinaaaa" he shrieked loudly as she stomped right down on his groin with, crushing his groin hard.
Every head in the crypt turned to the sound, the wolves, beasts, warriors and even in the chaos Thorne's gaze snapped to Adina.
Radek's screamed so loud, his voice cracked. Tears leaked out of his eyes like a dam.
Mustering every hateful thing in his body. Radek weakly tried lunging for Adina even with a crushed cock. Adina swerved back and then hit him again, this time she straddled him in place, her claws placed right against his throat.
"I told you, Radek. you'd die by my hands."
She sliced his neck open with her claws placed, his blood sputtered over her face. She watched as he chocked, making a gargling sound. His body shook violently as life slowly slipped out his body.
