Chapter 144: Found
Yu Shi Lan chuckled when she saw that Xiao Mao was about to lose her temper.
Even though teasing Xiao Mao is fun, she knew that it had to be done in moderation. Otherwise, the cat will be angry.
After rubbing the cat’s head a few more times, Yu Shi Lan sighed. "I missed the time when I can lay down on your back, Xiao Mao."
Xiao Mao’s body size used to be very big and she’s basically a big demonic beast’s pillow...
*ahem*
Yu Shi Lan would not admit that she usually used Xiao Mao as a pillow when going out for a trip or something like that. After all, it would be a waste not to use Xiao Mao as a pillow when possible.
Xiao Mao usually didn’t mind either.
Anyway, having Yu Shi Lan learned against her or not didn’t make much difference.
"This place will be good." Yu Shi Lan checked one of the place in Mu Ting Ye’s map that was usually empty. She glanced at the rocks and could see some markings there, which made her eyes narrow slightly.
It was obvious that Mu Ting Ye had come here for practice in the past.
He didn’t specifically write this down on the map, but from the trajectory of the activities of people around here, this was indeed on of the relatively quiet place for them to stay and practice without anyone bothering him.
But as a martial artist, Mu Ting Ye should have a quiet place to train before this.
Now, he simply picked a relatively empty areas to practice.
Yu Shi Lan couldn’t help but smile when she thought about it.
"Meow?" <Do you want to practice here, Miss?>
Xiao Mao also jumped out of Yu Shi Lan’s pocket. It was a bit stuffy inside and even though her small size was convenient, she still didn’t like staying in a closed space for a long period of time.
"Yes." Yu Shi Lan stretched her hand.
Since Mu Ting Ye had told her such a good place to practice, she will make a good use of this time before going back to the base.
...
On the other side, Mu Ting Ye went back to the base after meeting with Yu Shi Lan. He could guess that she should be picking one of the available place, so he simply picked a different location to practice.
It would not make much difference.
After all, the equipment that he used to use were not here. So Mu Ting Ye only carried his spear around with him.
"Brother, why did you come here?" Mu Ting Ye asked without turning around as he played around with the spear in his hand. In front of him was several rope with ancient coins hung there. He stabbed the tip of the spear to each of the holes in the coin, hitting it perfectly and didn’t disturb the coins and rope’s movements in the slightest bit.
This was his main practice.
A spear had to be fast and accurate, so Mu Ting Ye trained his accuracy and speed to the fullest with this practice.
But even with his full concentration, he could still sense someone coming.
There were not many people who knew Mu Ting Ye often came here and Mu Ting Yu was one of them.
After all, Mu Ting Ye didn’t really think that it would be possible for him to hide his presence from his older brother when the latter has such huge influence in the military and power in the base.
There was no point for him to hide it either.
"Mu Ting Ye, are your seniors here?" Mu Ting Yu asked straight to the point.
Mu Ting Ye frowned at his brother’s question.
It was rare for Mu Ting Yu to be so concerned about the whereabouts of his seniors. After all, the military and the officials were usually unconcerned about these freelance martial artists who were scattered all over the world.
"Aside from Lin Yuan, the others are not in this base," Mu Ting Ye replied calmly, his eyes were still focused on the coins in front of him and the spear in his hand kept on hitting the center of the coins accurately.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Mu Ting Yu didn’t plan to disturb his brother’s practice.
He didn’t understand why Mu Ting Ye was so obsessed with spears when most other people would be more interested in guns. After all, a gun is faster than any cold weapons that they could possibly use.
No matter how much they trained their bodies, can they be faster than bullets?
But while Mu Ting Yu didn’t understand, he didn’t stop Mu Ting Ye from doing whatever he wanted.
Anyway, the Mu Family would rely on him to continue its lineage and power.
The others could just stay on the back and do nothing.
None of them have any expectation for Mu Ting Ye.
"There are a few people who died not far away from the base, all killed with clean knife injury straight to the neck," Mu Ting Yu said slowly.
Knife?
Mu Ting Ye thought about his senior sister who was also very good at using knife, but she usually used it as a flying knife and was such a waste that their master often scolded her. Her accuracy and speed was not that good.
The other one would his senior brother, but from what Mu Ting Ye remembered, he was not here.
Considering the distance between cities and the ruins that destroyed most roads, it would not be easy for them to travel from one city to another. He usually met with his master in different city too as his master didn’t want to come to this city.
As for Lin Yuan?
That man used sword and speed and stealth was not his specialities. If he could be quiet for even a second, Mu Ting Ye would be thankful.
If he was not wrong, Lin Yuan was thinking about finding a heavier weapon for use.
So... the only possibility is Yu Shi Lan.
