Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 108: Speak the Truth

Chapter 108

Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Speak the Truth
Hearing Elara Don’s words, Melody Lane was shocked and sat up immediately.
"What, do I really have to remove my makeup on the spot? Charlotte Soo, can you even do it?"
"Don’t worry, Miss Collins, even though I’m a perfumer, many of my jobs related to fragrance also involve this."
Elara Don gave a slight smile as she said this, and then gestured for Melody Lane to lay back down.
Melody Lane frowned, clearly unwilling.
Leia Quinn chuckled lightly on the side, "Miss Collins, are you afraid to let Elly remove your makeup? It’s true, the difference between a woman before and after makeup is huge. Are you afraid people won’t recognize you once the makeup is off?"
"You!"
Having hit a sore spot, Melody Lane’s expression changed abruptly.
"Please, Miss Collins, don’t worry. I will only showcase the effects of aromatherapy, not zoom in on your face."
Elara Don smoothly interjected, "Moreover, we have professional makeup artists waiting backstage. As soon as the demonstration ends, they’ll apply a fine makeup on you."
Hearing this, Melody Lane cast a cold look toward the audience at the stage’s edge.
At this moment, everyone was eyeing her closely, waiting for the demonstration to begin.
She could no longer back down.
Reluctantly, she lay back down.
Soft music played around her, as pleasant as flowing water.
A woman’s gentle voice sounded.
"Relax, imagine you’re on an endless ocean, with a vast sky..."
Leia Quinn sat beside Melody Lane and began her gentle coaxing.
Elara Don curved her lips into a smile and started removing Melody Lane’s makeup.
The restlessness in Melody Lane’s eyes gradually calmed, and the tension on her face slowly eased.
Leia Quinn’s voice was tranquil and peaceful, seemingly able to soothe one’s heart.
The space was filled with soothing music, complemented by her serene voice.
Below the stage, Craig Landers watched Leia Quinn’s silhouette intently, with something flickering in his narrow eyes.
Images of the first time he saw her flashed through his mind.
Effortless short hair, a cool visage, clear eyes...
Unlike others who were fervent upon seeing him.
Like a quiet bay.
"Tell me, what do you see? What’s your greatest desire right now?"
On the stage, Leia Quinn looked at the sleeping Melody Lane, her red lips parted slightly, and asked softly.
Melody Lane’s eyelids fluttered as she whispered, "I saw him. My greatest desire is to be with him. But he has someone in his heart. Elara Don, that bitch, I must ruin her!"
The woman’s soft words echoed through the venue.
The audience below the stage erupted in murmurs.
"Oh my god, did the aromatherapy reveal her true feelings?"
"That’s terrifying!"
"Even if this aromatherapy is useful, having others see into your secrets is definitely not a good thing."
"..."
Everyone whispered among themselves.
Victoria Don watched the scene unfold, clenching her fingers tightly.
These two women have set up Melody Lane!
Truly, cleverness can backfire!
She pulled aside a staff member and whispered something to her.
On the stage, the host received an audio message in his earpiece, and his gaze flickered.
"Miss Soo, time is limited. Can we wrap it up?"
Elara Don glanced at Leia Quinn and nodded, signaling Leia Quinn to conclude.
Leia Quinn turned off the music and sat upright.
Elara Don paused her actions and said with a smile, "It seems Miss Collins dislikes me, but that’s okay. Talented people attract jealousy."
The audience below ceased their chatter and focused on her.
At this moment, Melody Lane’s eyes fluttered open as she slowly regained consciousness.
"Alright, Miss Collins, thank you for your cooperation. Please head backstage to get your makeup done."
Elara Don had a staff member escort the still dazed Melody Lane off the stage.
Afterward, she pulled Leia Quinn beside her and addressed everyone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, after observing the demonstration, you must have questions, confusion, and perhaps some apprehension. Now, I’ll clarify everything for you."
Elara Don smiled gently, "This is my dear friend Leia Quinn, a psychologist. She applied a psychological method on Miss Collins just now for demonstration purposes."
Leia Quinn smirked and nodded courteously.
Elara Don continued, "I want to convey that aromatherapy can be well integrated with medicine for psychological treatment. You need not worry, the typical aromatherapy sessions at Hawthorne Beauty only aim to relax the mind and body. It won’t force out any dark secrets like with Miss Collins."
Her explanation drew laughter from the guests below.
Meanwhile, backstage, as Melody Lane got her makeup done, she overheard the conversation and her eyes widened in shock.
"Tell me, what did they just do to me?"
"Well..."
The makeup artist hesitated and then relayed the conversation from the stage.
"What!"
Melody Lane sprang up, half her face undone, twisting in anger.
"Elara Don, this isn’t over between us!"
On stage, as Elara Don and Leia Quinn prepared to leave after bowing, the host stopped Elara Don.
"Miss Soo, the demonstration was truly exciting, showcasing the seamless teamwork between you and your friend. However, your act wasn’t the main talent performance. As a perfumer specially invited by Hawke Corporation, could you entertain us with a solo act? Perhaps sing or dance like Miss Victoria Don?"
Orders from above required Elara Don to perform solo.
He, as the host, had to comply.
Upon hearing the host’s request, Elara Don’s smile slightly diminished.
Her gaze swept toward Victoria Don below the stage, catching her provocation, and she sneered inwardly.
This was definitely Victoria Don’s idea.
Victoria Don just wanted to see her make a fool of herself!
After all, she knew Elara Don had been tone-deaf from childhood!
However...
Elara Don smiled, "Well then, since everyone doesn’t mind, how about I humble myself and play a song for you?"
She couldn’t sing or dance, but her mother taught her piano when she was alive.
Though not professional, she seldom touched a piano after her mother’s death, yet while abroad, she worked part-time as a pianist at various music shops and hotels to survive.
She could at least manage a modest attempt.
Elara Don approached the piano and lifted the lid.
"A woman with a high school education can actually play the piano?"
"Playing piano is so classy. I bet she’s putting on a show!"
"Watch her embarrass herself!"
"..."
The audience below was cynical, setting the stage for Elara Don to fail.
"Just watch, see how Elly proves them wrong."
Leia Quinn raised her chin slightly, pridefully.
Craig Landers looked at her, smiled mischievously, and whispered in her ear, "Are you two that close? If I didn’t have sharp eyes, I might genuinely believe you’re more than just friends!"
Leia Quinn: "..."
Certainly, one could assume these two ladies were more than friends, just so he’d stop trying to show off to her!
