Chapter 113: Chapter 113: They Actually Know Each Other
"Haha, little Elly, because of you, I sacrificed myself and got caught by a stud. How are you going to thank me?"
Leia Quinn pinched Elara Don’s cheek as she spoke.
Elara Don chuckled lightly, pulled down her mischievous hand, "Don’t make him sound so bad. I don’t think Craig Landers looks like a bad guy. Maybe you should try getting along with him. Perhaps you could save many troubled girls and become his last woman?"
"No way! Such a great mission should be left to those who are willing!"
Leia Quinn shuddered, "A peacock, I find it dirty!"
"Ahem, Kiki, maybe it’s just a rumor. You haven’t seen him with countless women yourself."
Elara Don had a good impression of Craig Landers and spoke up for him.
Leia Quinn gave her a sidelong glance, "Elly, that’s not fair! Who am I to you? Do you push your beloved into the fire pit?"
"Ha! I..."
"Godmother, Mommy’s beloved is me!"
While having breakfast and listening to the two banter, little Bea put down her milk cup and cutely chimed in.
Elara Don and Leia Quinn froze simultaneously, then burst into laughter.
"Yes, my beloved is my little Bea."
Elara Don hugged the little one beside her, giving him a big kiss.
Leia Quinn, half-laughing, pinched his tender little cheeks, "You little clever ghost, little jealous king."
"Hey, but of course."
Little Bea affectionately rubbed against his mommy’s neck, full of pride.
"Yes, Bea is my greatest love."
Elara Don’s heart was soft, "Alright, today is Saturday, go get ready, and Godmother and I will take you to your art class."
An art class!
Why does Mommy want him to go to an art class!
Little Bea’s body stiffened in shock, "Mommy, where are you taking me for the art class? Why can’t I stay home and play with bugs?"
"Because you have a talent for drawing! Mommy can’t waste your talent! Go on."
Ever since her son was kidnapped last time, Elara Don had enrolled the little guy in an art interest class.
Such a talented child might become a great artist in the future.
She couldn’t delay him!
He has a talent for drawing!
No way!
Mommy must have mistaken Dominic Hawke’s advantages for his own!
Waaah!
It’s that young master causing trouble again!
In the days he wasn’t home, the young master again got things lined up for him!
Hateful!
Little Bea cried quietly in his heart.
He slipped off the chair and looked at his dear mommy’s gentle face, recalling what he overheard last night, and tested, "Mommy, I want to ask again, do you really not want to be with Uncle Hawke?"
Hearing this, the smile on Elara Don’s face faded slightly.
After a moment of silence, she nodded, "Bea, you’re still young, you’ll understand when you grow up."
For one thing, the little guy has a biological father, for another, the gap in status and identity between her and that man was too big!
They couldn’t possibly be together.
Little Bea didn’t know if he should feel disappointed.
He pursed his little lips, glanced at Elara Don, and quietly turned to walk to the children’s room.
He originally wanted to ask about his biological father.
But since Mommy wanted to keep it from him, he decided not to ask.
Little shoulders slumped, Elara Don inexplicably felt a bit depressed.
The little guy seems fond of Damon Hawke.
But it’s okay, in time, when he meets his biological father, he won’t feel this way.
After Elara and Leia sent little Bea to his interest class, the two headed to a nearby mall.
Leia Quinn was starting her formal job next week and wanted to pick up some things over the weekend.
"Elly, I’ve already found a place to stay, just downstairs from you. The landlord just redecorated, so I just need to move in."
Leia Quinn said while browsing a women’s clothing store with Elara Don.
Elara Don was taken aback, "Kiki, why do you want to move out? Is living with me not comfortable?"
"No, how could it not be?"
"Then why move out?"
"You see, I’m a psychologist and sometimes take clients from high society. Some are quite odd and might call me at night to visit. I’m worried about disturbing you and Bea’s rest."
Leia Quinn picked a dress and compared it against herself, seeing Elara Don pouting unhappily, and teased, "Plus, if you and Bea’s dad get all lovey-dovey and want to do something, I’m just a big third wheel in the way!"
"Kiki!"
"Hehe, Elly, I’ve got it all planned for you. If you and Bea’s dad really hit it off, you can simply send Bea downstairs, then shut the door and enjoy yourselves. Isn’t it great?"
Leia Quinn’s smile grew.
Elara Don playfully punched her, "If you keep talking nonsense, watch out or I’ll hit you."
"Oh, if you break me, there’s no one to help you take care of Bea."
"You said it! I’ve told you before, he used to be part of a gang. I need to observe him carefully! Right now, I can’t let him know about Bea’s existence, nor can I bring him home."
"True, no one’s stopping you from observing him. But if upon observing him, he feels quite nice, and you feel the spark, then you have to..."
"You naughty girl!"
"..."
The two whispered and laughed, not finding anything particularly appealing after browsing the shops, decided to move on to the next place.
Completely unaware that there were ears behind walls.
Victoria Don came out of the fitting room, looked at the exiting pair, deep in thought.
Were they talking about the child’s biological father?
Did Elara Don think her child’s father was a thug?
And she didn’t want them to meet?
Could she use this to her advantage?
Victoria Don’s eyes glimmered, and the corners of her mouth slightly curled up.
Outside.
After a leisurely shopping trip and buying some clothes, Elara Don and Leia Quinn felt tired and planned to rest at a café.
The two walked into a coffee shop on the first floor of the mall, finding a spot by the window to sit.
Elara Don set down her things, tidied her hair.
Glancing slightly upwards coincidentally, she froze.
Who did she see?
Elena Soo and Melody Lane?
Did the two of them know each other?
At that moment, Melody Lane was pushing a card towards Elena Soo, saying something unknown.
Elena Soo kept her gaze down, finally nodding her head, reaching out to slowly take the card, putting it in her bag.
"Elly, the usual?"
Leia Quinn’s inquiry came from her side.
Elara Don quickly made a shushing gesture, then lowered her head to minimize her presence, quietly waiting for Elena Soo and Melody Lane to leave.
"Remember, I need accurate data before their new product launch."
Melody Lane’s murmur floated dimly by.
New product launch?
Accurate data?
So, was it what she thought?
Was Elena Soo helping Melody Lane?
Planning to steal her perfume formula?
