Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 132: The Credit Went to Cole Hawke

Chapter 132

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: The Credit Went to Cole Hawke
Upon hearing Elara Don’s inquiry, Damon Hawke’s heart skipped a beat.
"Elly, you..."
What does she know?
Why is she suddenly asking such a question?
"Tom, are you secretly still involved in the underworld? Were those people who just rescued me your subordinates?"
Elara looked at Damon and continued to ask.
Damon’s eyes flickered slightly, and he said, "Elly, I am Mr. Landers’ subordinate, and those people just now are also technically part of the underworld. I am indeed their leader. But you know, wealthy people often keep some staff. We all follow Mr. Landers’ orders, protected under his wing."
Which means those people just now are Craig Landers’ people.
They are not true gang members.
They only follow Craig Landers’ orders.
Damon roughly understood Elara’s thoughts.
Is it possibly because of Cole Hawke’s words, concerned about safety issues?
Chase Quinn, who was driving in the front, had a slight slip of his hand but managed to steady the vehicle.
The master is getting better and better at lying.
Actually calling himself Mr. Landers’ subordinate.
"Elly, what’s wrong? Why are you suddenly asking this?"
Damon held Elara’s hand, asking quietly.
"It’s nothing, just casually asking."
Elara pondered with bit of indifference.
Damon’s identity always gave her a sense of unease.
At this point, she had given up the idea of revealing the truth to him.
Let’s wait and see.
The car drove forward all the way, reaching the hospital.
After Chase arranged things, Damon carried her into the emergency room.
"Chase, investigate what happened just now carefully, see who’s behind this mess."
While the doctor conducted a comprehensive examination on Elara, Damon commanded Chase with a stern face.
"Yes."
Chase responded.
At this moment, Damon’s phone in his pocket rang.
He took it out and rubbed his temple.
It was Bea’s call.
Probably anxiously waiting.
"Bea."
"Uncle Hawke, have you found my mommy?"
An anxious voice came through the call.
Damon replied softly, "Bea, I was caught up in something just now, but my people told me your mommy was saved by someone. She’s now at the hospital having a check-up, so you don’t need to worry."
Now he was Damon, not Thomas King, so he had to explain it this way.
"Oh, that’s good."
Bea felt relieved upon hearing Elara was rescued, "It was probably Hawke brother who saved mommy."
Damon: "..."
Hawke brother?
Cole Hawke?
Why does the little guy want to credit this to Cole?
Damon felt displeased, but couldn’t explain more.
After all, he wasn’t on the scene and couldn’t say who saved Elara.
Feeling somewhat stifled.
Damon swallowed the frustration and changed the subject, "Are you at home alone now?"
In the apartment, Bea was about to say yes when she heard the door open.
Leia Quinn walked in.
"No, godmother is here."
"Alright."
Knowing there was someone at home with the little guy, he wasn’t worried.
He hung up the phone and stood in the hallway, waiting for Elara’s examination to conclude.
Soon, the doctor came out.
Damon hurried forward, "Doctor, how is she?"
"A mild concussion and some minor external injuries, nothing serious otherwise, she just needs to be observed overnight."
The doctor replied formally.
"Thank you."
Damon breathed a sigh of relief and then walked briskly to the ward.
In the ward, Elara was about to get up.
Damon quickly went over to support her, "Don’t move, lie down and rest."
Elara was tucked into the bed, and reluctantly said, "Tom, I’m fine, I want to go home."
Her son was alone at home, she wasn’t at ease.
"No way. The doctor said you have a mild concussion and some external injuries and need to be hospitalized for observation overnight."
Damon firmly refused.
Elara paused, "Alright, but lend me your phone, I’ll give Kiki a call."
"Sure."
Damon habitually reached for the phone in his pocket, then reconsidered, and took out a different phone.
"Here."
This one was the phone Thomas King used.
No mistakes allowed.
Elara sat up and called Leia Quinn.
Leia had already heard about the situation from Bea and was worried about her.
"Elly, how are you? Are you okay? Who is with you at the hospital now?"
"I’m fine, don’t worry, but tonight you need to take care of Bea for me."
"You don’t need to tell me that. I’m just wondering what’s going on, who is it who’s after you? Who is with you at the hospital now?"
Leia quickly inquired.
"The details will wait until I return tomorrow, but the person with me at the hospital now is Tom."
Elara replied.
Leia understood.
The two chatted for a bit and then hung up the call.
Elara curved her lips and returned the phone to Damon.
Damon sat down by the bedside, noticing her tired expression, he gently said, "Sleep, I’ll keep an eye on the IV drip."
Elara gave him a glance and nodded.
"Alright."
His presence beside her oddly made her feel at ease.
...
Cole Hawke returned home.
Just changed his shoes, a man’s voice came from the living room.
"Arthur, you’re back."
Cole looked up to see his father sitting in a wheelchair looking at him.
"Dad, you haven’t slept yet? Where’s mom?"
"Your mom’s just gone to sleep, I’m waiting for you to come back."
Jason Hawke replied.
Cole walked over, knelt down and tucked the blanket around his father’s legs.
He was a devoted and good son.
Jason watched him and asked, "Have you become familiar with the Hawke Group since returning to the country?"
"More or less."
Cole stood up and went to pour himself some water.
"I heard you have been quite close with a woman, today you even went to pick up her child?"
Jason followed him, still in the wheelchair.
Cole paused and looked back at his father.
"Dad, did you send someone to follow me?"
"I’m just concerned about you since you’re new to the country and still young."
Jason’s electric wheelchair moved to face Cole, "Arthur, remember, achieving great things requires overlooking small matters, and you cannot be tied down by romantic affairs. The position Damon is occupying now should rightfully be yours. Your primary mission now is to reclaim that position."
His son was supposed to be the primary heir to the Hawke Corporation.
Why should it be given to Damon?
He was unwilling to see power shift away!
"Dad, since you sent someone to follow me, they should have seen the child I picked up today looks exactly like Charlie."
Cole spoke calmly, not upset.
Jason was shocked, "Arthur, what do you mean?"
"It means that the woman, Elara Don, is Charlie’s biological mother, not Victoria Don. She gave birth to twins back then."
What!
Jason was stunned.
Completely unexpected.
Before he could inquire further, Cole spoke again.
"There’s something else you probably don’t know. You know the Netherworld Organization, right? Their new leader is mysterious, no one knows his true identity. Actually, he’s Damon, using the alias Thomas King within the organization."
