Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Charlie Is Her Other Son
Elara Don still held the check in her hand.
Her fingers slowly tightened, feeling utterly ridiculous.
Thomas King is Damon Hawke!
He tricked her completely!
Just because he couldn’t let go of his first love, he approached her this way?
Damon Hawke, how could he even think of this?
Her throat felt as if it was being strangled by a rope, making it hard for her to breathe.
Sharp pains came from her heart.
Elara Don tore the check into pieces, her chest heaving.
Damon Hawke, skilled at scheming!
Did he want her to slowly fall in love with him, unable to leave him?
Betrayal is unforgivable!
And she really was stupid, stupid enough to almost fall for it!
Elara Don closed her eyes, suppressing the bitterness in them.
Suddenly, a little face flashed through her mind.
If Damon Hawke is Thomas King, then he is the man who took her purity four years ago.
Hence, Charlie is her other son!
No wonder he always gave her such a familiar, affectionate feeling!
Because he is her biological son!
She really was too foolish!
Did she not think to take off the little guy’s mask and look?
Elara Don wanted to cry and laugh at the same time.
After searching for so long, it turned out her other biological son was right by her side!
What should she do now?
She must see him!
And acknowledge him!
But she couldn’t let The Hawthorne know the fact that she is Charlie’s biological mother.
Once they know, Bea’s identity will be exposed.
In that case, with the Hawke Family’s power, both sons will undoubtedly be taken away by Damon Hawke.
Vinny Hawke wants her to leave Sea City, and that’s fine.
If she leaves, she’ll take both sons away with her!
...
Hospital.
Psychotherapy room.
Leia Quinn looked at Craig Landers entering, her lips curling into a cold smile.
She thought it over and over; the woman’s voice who hung up on her was very familiar.
Wasn’t it Selena Taylor, Craig Landers’ sister-in-law, and the woman he is so infatuated with?
So last night, Craig Landers was with Selena Taylor!
"Hi, Cindy dear, absence from you feels like ages, hasn’t it been years since we last met?"
Craig Landers looked at Leia Quinn’s cold face, teasing her as usual.
Leia Quinn expressionlessly wrote on the medical records, "Mr. Landers, is your psyche uncomfortable again? I’ve told you, I can’t cure you, please find someone more competent. Or, you don’t need to find anyone else; just have your sister-in-law come over directly."
At these words, Craig Landers’ playful smile slightly faded.
He squinted his eyes slightly, leaning in a bit toward her, "Cindy dear, what’s the matter? Are you angry? Even if you are, you shouldn’t speak so recklessly."
Reckless speech?
Leia Quinn looked up at him, giving a slight sarcastic smile, "Mr. Landers, am I wrong? It seems you’re reluctant to move on from your past love, so stop deceiving yourself."
How is he deceiving himself?
Craig Landers stared at Leia Quinn with some interest, "Cindy dear, what’s really going on with you today? Speak openly, don’t be so mysteriously unpredictable."
"Me, unpredictable? Craig Landers, weren’t you with your sister-in-law yesterday? Do you know, because of her, Elly almost had an accident!"
Leia Quinn couldn’t hold back, angrily saying.
Craig Landers’ smile froze, and he seriously asked, "What on earth happened?"
"Ha! Pretending, keep pretending! You don’t know I called you last night? Or was it your sister-in-law who answered?"
Leia Quinn said angrily.
"You called me?"
Craig Landers looked innocent, "A friend returned to the country yesterday, and we had a late night out, I really didn’t know you called."
"Is that so? Then, you better ask your ’good’ sister-in-law."
Leia Quinn snorted coldly.
Craig Landers scratched his head, temporarily not dwelling on that issue, but asked, "What did you just say? Elly almost got into trouble? What actually happened? How is she now?"
If something happened to Elara Don because he missed that call, Damon Hawke would probably kill him!
Upon hearing this, Leia Quinn glanced at him, somewhat suspicious, "You really don’t know Elly was in trouble? Didn’t Mr. Hawke inform you later?"
"Why would Tom inform me?"
"To tell you to send your bodyguards to save people!"
Leia Quinn looked puzzled, seeing that Craig Landers didn’t seem to be lying, she pondered.
Thomas King saved Elly.
But if Damon Hawke didn’t inform Craig Landers, how did Thomas King know Elly was in trouble?
"Why inform Tom to save people? Cindy dear, can you explain the whole thing clearly once?"
Craig Landers was about to go crazy from confusion.
Leia Quinn gave him a look and briefly explained last night’s events.
After hearing it, Craig Landers felt like his heart had survived a disaster.
Fortunately, Leia Quinn eventually alerted Damon Hawke, or else he would have to prepare to be killed by Damon Hawke.
"If Mr. Hawke didn’t notify you, then how did your bodyguards get the news?"
Leia Quinn asked her question.
Craig Landers’ eyes flickered, "Tom has my bodyguards’ phone numbers, if he couldn’t reach me, of course, he would inform Thomas King directly."
Is that so?
Leia Quinn stared at Craig Landers, only feeling that his expression had some subtle change.
"Craig Landers, are you lying?"
"No, not at all!"
"I’m a psychologist; you can’t hide it from me."
"Cindy dear, seems like you observe me very closely, huh? You must like me to be so attentive."
"Get out!"
"Cindy dear..."
Craig Landers was unceremoniously kicked out of the therapy room.
He rubbed his nose, looking disgruntled.
Thinking of something, he hurriedly took out his phone and dialed Damon Hawke.
"Tom, I’m admitting my fault first, yesterday I drank a little too much with Samantha, so I missed Leia Quinn’s call."
No sound from the other end of the line, after a moment, as Craig Landers’ heart pounded heavily, Damon Hawke finally spoke.
"Craig Landers, as a brother, I’ll just remind you, since she’s already your sister-in-law, you should be mindful, don’t get too close to her."
Damon Hawke said this and then hung up the call.
Listening to the busy tone from the phone, Craig Landers’ expression turned indifferent.
He knew he should do this.
But sometimes, the brain just doesn’t follow orders!
...
Outside the training class.
Elara Don anxiously waited for Bea to come out.
"Mommy, you came to pick me up!"
The bell for class dismissal rang, Bea came out from the classroom, and was delighted to run towards Elara.
Elara Don smiled and rubbed his head, not saying anything, and just held his hand and left.
"Mommy, do you have something on your mind?"
Bea asked, seeing Elara Don seemingly absent-minded.
Such a sharp little one.
"We’ll talk once we’re home."
Elara Don picked up the little one, got into the car, and sped away.
Once home, Elara Don put things down and crouched down to make eye contact with the little guy.
"Bea, answer mommy honestly, have you seen how Dominic Hawke looks?"
She kept thinking about some things and felt something was off.
She needed to ask her son to find out!
