Chapter 264: Chapter 264: The Dancer Liam Ward
Is someone going to jump?
Elara Don and Helen exchanged a glance, a flash of shock in both of their eyes.
"Charlotte, let’s go take a look."
Helen pulled Elara Don towards the crowd.
They barely squeezed in and saw a woman crying by the railing on the sixth floor, hysterically yelling at a man trying to approach her.
"Don’t come over, Liam! If you come any closer, I’ll jump!"
"Lana, don’t be like this. Listen to me, I really love you. I can’t live without you. Please, come back."
The man’s eyes were filled with pain and anxiety, wanting to get closer but afraid she would actually jump.
"You’re lying! You were just looking at another woman! You’re disgusted with me, aren’t you? You think I’m unclean, and you’re rejecting me! You never intended to marry me, you were lying to me!"
The woman yelled loudly, her eyes full of madness.
"I didn’t! Lana, you’re really misunderstanding! If I didn’t want to marry you, why would I bring you to shop for new home goods?"
The man desperately tried to explain, but it seemed so weak and powerless.
The woman shook her head frantically, shouting continuously, on the verge of emotional collapse.
Suddenly, she grabbed the railing, trying to climb over.
The crowd around them let out a gasp of surprise.
Elara Don also inhaled sharply and called out, "Wait a minute."
Her voice was so shrill that it almost cracked.
The woman paused her actions, turning to look at her.
Elara Don cleared her throat, trying to make her voice more comfortable.
She had called out in a moment of urgency.
Now everyone’s eyes were on her, and she felt a little nervous.
"Charlotte, what are you going to do?"
Helen tugged at her, whispering.
"Save her, of course!"
Elara Don looked at the woman’s beautiful face, racking her brain for a solution.
She had listened to the conversation between the woman and the man and realized the woman probably had psychological issues.
Having spent time with Leia Quinn, she had learned a thing or two.
For a woman with psychological issues, you have to hit the nail on the head, strike right at her heart.
Elara Don glanced at the anxious and nervous man beside her and said softly, "I’ll distract her in a moment. When you see the opportunity, grab her."
The man glanced at her, moved his lips to say something, but said nothing and nodded.
The woman across from them, seeing the interaction between the man and Elara Don, became agitated again, "What are you talking about? Liam, is she seducing you?"
Hearing this, the man wanted to say something, but Elara Don stopped him.
She wrapped her arm around the man’s, half-smiling, "It seems you still care about him? Since that’s the case, why are you trying to kill yourself? If you die, won’t that be making it easy for another woman? You’ll watch him be good to another woman, all lovey-dovey, wouldn’t you feel bad? But you brought this on yourself by giving up on life and handing him over."
Her words made the woman’s expression change drastically.
She shook her head furiously, tears streaming down, "No, it’s not like that. I didn’t hand Liam over to someone else, I didn’t!"
Seeing her collapsing in tears, Elara Don quickly let go of the man’s arm, "Hurry and grab her."
First, stabilize her.
"Okay."
The man dashed over and held the woman tightly.
"Lana, calm down, okay? I won’t leave you."
"Liam, I didn’t hand you over, did you reject me? Why were you looking at other women? Why were you with other women?"
The woman cried, questioning repeatedly.
The man wiped her tears, "There’s no such thing. How could I not want you? You’re the one I love the most."
"Waaah, Liam, did I have an attack again?"
"It’s fine now, don’t cry."
Seeing the woman’s emotions returning from madness, Elara Don exhaled deeply.
Thankfully, the woman was okay.
"Wow, Charlotte, I didn’t know you had a knack for being a psychologist."
"It’s decent, isn’t it? Those who near vermilion are stained red, those who near ink are stained black, isn’t it?"
Elara Don teased.
Helen retorted, "Really? Well, you’ve been with me every day lately. I’m waiting for you to become a computer expert."
"Ahem, that kind of technical work doesn’t suit me."
"Why wouldn’t it suit you? Charlotte, do you still prefer your friend, Leia Quinn?"
"Helen, are you jealous of my friend?"
"Heh heh."
The two laughed as they prepared to leave.
"Wait a minute."
A man’s voice called from behind them.
Elara Don and Helen stopped, looking at each other.
"Miss, thank you for stepping in, really, thank you so much."
The man bowed deeply to Elara Don.
Elara Don quickly waved her hand, "No need for thank yous, it was a small matter."
She glanced at the woman, seeing her snuggled by the man, looking dazed.
The woman was very beautiful, appearing pitiable, evoking sympathy and heartache.
However, her mental state probably still had issues.
"Sir, my friend is a psychologist. If you need help, you can contact me anytime."
Elara Don thought about it and said.
"I’m not sick; I don’t need a psychologist."
The woman shouted anxiously upon hearing Elara Don’s words.
The man comforted her with a few words.
"Miss, can I get your contact information? I’d like to treat you to coffee sometime."
"Sure."
Elara Don readily gave her phone number.
The man noted it down, and they added each other on WeChat.
"Miss Charlotte, thanks again. We’ll be off now."
"Okay, goodbye."
Watching the two leave, Elara Don lowered her gaze to the man’s WeChat.
The WeChat profile picture was a male dancer doing a mid-air split.
It looked beautiful and powerful.
So, this man was named Liam Ward, a dancer.
Elara Don raised her eyebrows, somewhat surprised.
"Alright, stop looking. Let’s hurry and shop. I’m hungry."
Helen pulled Elara Don along.
Elara Don put her phone away, bought some kitchen supplies, picked up some groceries, and then returned to Helen’s home.
After some bustling around, she prepared three dishes and a soup.
Just then, her phone rang.
Elara Don glanced at it; it was Liam Ward calling.
He’s calling her so soon?
Elara Don answered, "Mr. Ward."
"Miss Charlotte, are you free now? Can we meet?"
"Sure."
Elara Don readily agreed.
She placed the dishes on the dining table, "Helen, dinner’s ready. I’m stepping out for a bit, hahaha."
"Where are you going?"
Helen emerged from the study, scratching her head.
"To do a good deed."
Elara Don teased, then opened the door and left.
Arriving at the café Liam Ward mentioned, she found him at a window seat.
"Mr. Ward, I’m here."
"Miss Charlotte, please sit."
Liam Ward quickly stood up, nodded at Elara Don.
Elara Don sat down, speaking with concern, "Mr. Ward, is your girlfriend okay now?"
"She’s fine, just took her medicine and fell asleep. I’ve got Auntie watching her."
Liam Ward smiled with some difficulty.
