Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 268: Leia Quinn in Danger

Chapter 268

Chapter 268: Chapter 268: Leia Quinn in Danger
"Alright, I’ll listen to my wife."
Craig Landers wore a smile as Leia Quinn took his arm and walked inside.
Watching the two holding hands, looking very much in love, Nick Hook’s hand unconsciously clenched into a fist, a flicker of discomfort and envy in his eyes.
What makes Craig Landers so special?
Even though the Landers family is prestigious, he’s not the head of The Lockwood Group.
Isn’t he just an ordinary rich second generation like me?
At most, his family is just a notch above mine.
Aren’t we essentially of the same status?
What gives him the right to act so superior!
Nick Hook mocked inwardly, took a deep breath, and quickly followed.
Not far away, Selena Taylor stood with her mother, her apricot-shaped eyes filled with hidden light as she watched the scene unfold.
The Hook Family and the Clarke Family have business dealings, and today she accompanied her parents here.
She was just waiting to see how Leia Quinn would embarrass herself!
"Selena, how could you lose the baby just like that? Is it because of this that Wright Landers is upset and withdrew all the funds?"
Mrs. Clarke asked Selena Taylor discontentedly.
Selena Taylor felt bitter, unable to voice it, "That’s not it, he has his own business troubles, didn’t he replace the funds later?"
She had suffered immense humiliation to finally get Craig Landers to agree to replenish the withdrawn funds.
She clearly remembered the man tossing her aside like a rag, looking at her as if she were an ant.
"Selena Taylor, remember this, from now on, you will be without dignity like a chicken, atoning for the rest of your life for the child."
He regarded her as nothing more than a chicken!
Demanding she live a life without dignity, paying for her sins!
Thinking about the events of the past few days, fear made Selena Taylor flinch.
Her hatred for Leia Quinn grew even stronger.
This wretched woman is to blame!
She would make her life a living hell!
"Selena, you’re still in your recovery period, don’t get too intense with Wright."
Mrs. Clarke advised upon noticing the hickey peeking from Selena’s neck.
Selena Taylor snapped back to reality, quickly adjusting her collar, a hint of embarrassment in her eyes.
"Alright, Mom, Mrs. Ward is looking for you, you should go, I’ll take a walk."
She knew she was still in recovery, but Wright Landers didn’t care about her one bit!
If he wanted something, he took it, completely disregarding her well-being!
A trace of resentment flashed in Selena Taylor’s eyes as she turned and walked toward a less crowded area.
Yuna Wynne walked towards her, and Selena’s eyes gleamed as she whispered while passing by, "Is everything prepared?"
Exactly.
She had incited Yuna Wynne, and today, she would deal Leia Quinn a fatal blow.
"Yes, rest assured."
A glimmer of excitement and apprehension flickered in Yuna Wynne’s eyes.
She wanted to ruin Leia Quinn so she would no longer have the face to flirt with Nick Hook!
In the lounge, Leia Quinn introduced Craig Landers to the patriarch of the Hook Family.
The elder was very happy, chatting with Leia Quinn for a long time.
"I always said Chloe is a fortunate child. Little Craig, you must treat our Kiki well in the future,"
Nick’s grandfather advised Craig Landers.
Craig Landers wrapped his arm around Leia Quinn’s shoulders, smiling, "Rest assured, Grandpa Hook, I’ll treat Cindy like a queen."
"Haha, when will you have the wedding? Grandpa Hook must come with a big gift,"
"Once we decide, Grandpa Hook will definitely be invited."
"..."
After chatting a while, relatives started to come in, each greeting Leia Quinn.
They claimed to visit her, but they were actually trying to get closer to Craig Landers.
Leia Quinn watched as Craig Landers was surrounded, his smile almost stiffening, and said, "Let me entertain the guests; Wayne, will you come with me?"
She worried Craig Landers might get impatient.
"Alright."
Craig Landers smiled and greeted everyone around him, breathing a sigh of relief after exiting the lounge.
"Wife, you’re clever for knowing how to rescue me."
Leia Quinn chuckled lightly, "Just a little longer, after the ceremony, we’ll find an excuse to leave."
She didn’t care much for such occasions.
Rather spend the time on seeing more patients.
"Alright, I’ll listen to my wife."
Craig Landers gave a fond smile, "You play here, I’ll take a trip to the restroom."
"Alright."
Leia Quinn nodded, watching Craig Landers walk off, her lips curling upward.
A server passed by, courteously handing her a glass of water.
Leia Quinn thanked the server, feeling a bit thirsty, and took a sip.
Just then, a small boy around five or six years old ran over and grabbed her hand.
"Sister, come play with me."
Leia Quinn was taken aback, smiling as she squatted down to look at him, "Who are you, little one? Where are your parents?"
"I’m Gia, my parents aren’t here, I came with my grandma, she’s over there!"
The little boy pointed to two old ladies nearby, speaking in a sing-song voice.
Following his gaze, Leia Quinn looked over and understood.
This child must be Nick Hook’s aunt’s grandson.
"Sister, let’s go, play with me."
The little boy, seeing Leia Quinn not responding, tugged her towards the stairs.
"Gia, slow down."
Leia Quinn chuckled, letting the child drag her to the third floor.
She didn’t overthink, assuming the kid felt a connection with her.
Besides, she was free, so why not spend some time playing with the child.
Who would’ve thought...
"Sister, let’s play hide and seek. Stay here, count to ten before coming to find me."
The little boy pushed Leia Quinn into a lounge and shut the door.
Leia Quinn chuckled lightly, not minding, and surveyed the lounge.
It was a rest area with chairs and a couch.
Leia Quinn sat down to rest for a moment.
She started counting silently, planning to leave after a while.
But then, she caught a whiff of a scent, making her gradually lose her senses.
At first, Leia Quinn didn’t notice; once she did, she tried to stand but suddenly felt weak all over.
What’s going on?
She hadn’t drunk alcohol; why was she feeling dizzy?
Leia Quinn was alarmed, her remaining rationality leading her to suspect something sinister.
Is someone trying to sabotage her?
What do they want to do?
...
Nick Hook finished greeting guests and glanced at the time; it was nearly the auspicious hour.
He scanned the room but didn’t see Leia Quinn.
Thinking, he decided to head to the lounge for some water.
His phone beeped with a new message.
Nick Hook checked his phone, his pupils suddenly contracting.
"Leia Quinn is in danger, quickly go to lounge number three to find her!"
Leia Quinn is in danger!
What’s going on?
Who sent him this message?
No matter who it was, he had to check it out.
Nick Hook hurriedly ran upstairs.
Not far away, Selena Taylor watched Nick Hook ascend, a cold smile curling her lips.
Leia Quinn, this is just the beginning.
She intended to plant a thorn in Craig Landers’s heart!
Lounge number three.
Nick Hook pushed the door open.
"Kiki!"
In the room, Leia Quinn sat on the chair, her eyes glistening with moisture.
Nick Hook looked around and, seeing no one else, quickly walked over to her.
"Kiki, what’s wrong?"
Leia Quinn gazed at the man before her, lifting her hand to hook around his neck, suddenly smiling, "You came..."
