Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 42: Hit Her Back for Me

Chapter 42

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Hit Her Back for Me
Dominic Hawke explained the situation clearly and concisely.
Damon Hawke’s cold and sharp gaze swept over the room, exuding a chilling intensity.
Melody Lane swallowed nervously and quickly said, "Mr. Hawke, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this was your son. I thought..."
She was so focused on making Elara Don look bad that she forgot she had crossed paths with Damon Hawke?
"You thought what? That just because it’s someone else’s child, you can hit and scold them at will? Is that how the Collins Family educates their children?"
Damon Hawke’s deep voice dripped with heavy sarcasm, causing Melody Lane’s face to turn pale.
This was the second time Damon had belittled her!
She had been a pampered heiress all her life, never once looked down upon by a man like this.
Damon momentarily ignored her, his gaze sweeping over several children as he said sternly, "Did you bully Dominic Hawke? If you’re men, you should have the courage to admit it."
The children’s resolve crumbled under his sharp gaze, and they swiftly hid behind their parents.
"Mr. Hawke, there must be a misunderstanding here."
"Yes, my son is usually very well-behaved."
The parents rushed to protect their children, eager to explain.
"Not admitting it? Fine, then let’s check the surveillance footage!"
Damon’s expression was indifferent, "If my son has falsely accused you, I’ll have him apologize to you. But if your children did bully my son, Principal, what do you suggest we do?"
What to do?
If the child of such an influential person was being bullied, he certainly had to ensure justice was served!
Principal Payne hurriedly said, "Rest assured, Mr. Hawke, I will ensure justice is served for you."
"Yes, it was Chubby who hit Dominic Hawke. We were merely bystanders cheering him on."
One child timidly poked their head out and confessed.
"Yes, we didn’t hit anyone; we just laughed at Dominic Hawke."
Another child summoned the courage to confess.
"Me too."
"..."
Without requiring Principal Payne to check the surveillance, all the children confessed.
Damon’s handsome face remained cold as his gaze circled the room before landing on his son, "I don’t abuse power. Dominic, this matter is yours to handle."
Handle it himself!
Dominic’s little heart raced, and when he looked up at his father, he received an encouraging look.
He turned to look at Elara Don on the other side and received the same warm gaze from her.
In that instant, he no longer felt afraid or alone!
He straightened his small shoulders and said, "I am not mute; I’m just too lazy to speak. I want you all to apologize to me."
Being protected by his dad and mom felt wonderful!
"I’m sorry."
"I’m sorry."
"..."
The children gradually apologized. Chubby glanced at Melody Lane, and seeing her silent, bowed his head to Dominic Hawke under Damon’s imposing presence.
Dominic’s little face eased slightly, and he looked at the adults, "And you, you should apologize to Aunt Charlotte Soo."
Hearing this, the wealthy ladies exchanged glances, clearly unwilling.
In their view, Elara Don’s status was too low for them to bow their heads to her.
"No need, Charlie, I don’t care for such apologies at all."
Elara Don didn’t want to redirect the issue towards herself.
After all, the adult world isn’t as pure as a child’s.
Having them apologize was pointless.
She had heard enough gossip.
If she took it seriously, she would lose.
Dominic was young and didn’t understand her mentality, just gazed confusedly at Elara Don.
On the other side, Damon Hawke’s eyes flickered slightly as he watched Elara Don with a touch of appreciation.
She was indeed a generous girl.
"Mr. Hawke, since the children have apologized, can we leave now?"
The wealthy ladies, with their children in tow, just wanted to leave quickly.
Damon Hawke said nothing, only speaking when Melody Lane was about to leave with her child, "Miss Collins, please stay."
Melody Lane’s spine stiffened as she turned to face Damon, "Mr. Hawke, is there anything else?"
"Where did she hit you?"
Damon asked casually.
Melody froze, realizing Damon was asking where she had hit Elara Don.
Immediately, her face looked very unpleasant.
Was Damon standing up for Elara Don?
She had slapped Elara Don, but didn’t Elara also slap her back?
Damon glanced at Elara Don, "Where she hit you, you should hit back."
"Huh?"
Elara Don hadn’t expected Damon’s suggestion and quickly said, "No, no need, I slapped her too."
Not at a loss?
But she was still too kind to someone who kept provoking her!
Damon’s lips curved into a cold and thin smile, "That slap was for yourself; she intended to hit my son."
They definitely needed to give Melody a lesson.
Damon’s cold gaze turned to Melody, "Miss Collins, what do you propose? Are you going to kneel and apologize, or would you rather see Lane Corporation’s shares drop to zero because of you tomorrow?"
The man’s expression remained indifferent, yet it exuded an intimidating power that made one’s heart tremble.
Melody Lane’s complexion changed drastically, appearing extremely unpleasant.
Her gaze landed on Elara Don’s face, her fingernails digging into her flesh, full of shame and anger.
"Mr. Hawke, is it worth standing up for a woman like her? She’s nothing but a loose woman! On one hand, she flirts with you, and on the other, she’s stringing along Evan Miles. Don’t be deceived by her appearance!"
"Three, two..."
Damon’s expression turned cold, his thin lips spitting out emotionless numbers.
Melody’s eyes reddened, and with a thud, she kneeled down.
She couldn’t let Damon ruin Lane Corporation.
But she would also forever remember the humiliation she endured today, all thanks to Elara Don!
"I’m sorry."
Melody Lane bit her lip and said an apology, then grabbed her nephew’s hand and stumbled out.
The office quieted down. Elara Don glanced at Damon, her lips softly pressed together.
This kind of vindictiveness was indeed his style.
Dominant as always.
"Mr. Hawke, I’m sorry, it’s my failure to manage the class properly that caused Charlie to be wronged."
The class teacher stammered an apology, cold sweat already soaking her back.
Elara Don looked at her and couldn’t help but say, "Ms. Zhou, teaching and nurturing should come from a sincere heart. I hope you’ll remember that."
If this teacher had questioned the situation promptly after hearing her complaint and educated the children, she wouldn’t have been so angry.
"Principal Payne, deal with the teacher’s quality education as you see fit."
Damon gave the principal a pointed look, picked up Dominic, and left without lingering.
Watching the trio leave together, Principal Payne wiped the cold sweat off his forehead.
His gaze fell on Elara Don, and he murmured internally.
Seems like she’s Damon’s new favorite. Intriguing!
Outside.
Elara watched Damon put Dominic into the car and couldn’t help but say, "Mr. Hawke, I have a few words to say to you."
Damon closed the car door and turned to face her.
Elara said, "Charlie has a reserved personality, which you should know as his father. So, don’t just focus on work, spend more time with him. Isn’t companionship the most enduring confession of love?"
