Chapter 132: Chapter 130: drooling on me princess?
Athena blinked awake slowly, the morning light spilling gently across the sheets. For a moment she didn’t move, she was wrapped in warmth, and comfort of Theodore’s scent.
She shifted softly on the bed, that’s when she realised Theodore wasn’t in the bed.
He had been pressed against her all night. And now he left?
A strange little tug pulled at her chest.
Confusion? Annoyance? Or Disappointment?
She didn’t want to care. But she did.
She got up from the bed,, her sleeping shorts brushing high on her thighs, and padded toward the walk-in closet, expecting to see him searching for something.
But it’s mpty.
Her brows lowered a fraction.
She turned and peeped into the bathroom.
Still nothing.
Why was she even searching for him?
Why did it matter?
She didn’t have the answer, but her feet kept moving on their own.
With a small, frustrated huff, she went downstairs, her shorts teasing her bare legs as she stepped quietly. She’d barely made it halfway down the stairs when a sound drifted through the glass-heavy interior of Theo’s home.
Laughter.
A deep and familiar ones.
Her body paused mid-step, head turning toward the direction of the sound.
That sounded like, Eryx.
Curiosity wrapped around her like a vine, tugging her closer. She followed the laughter down the hall, her feet silent on the marble.
Theo’s house was almost all glass, clean angles and wide transparent walls.
And beyond one of those glass doors, were all the phantom fours.
Her breath stalled as her eye locked into
Four men who could ruin any woman’s sanity by simply standing. They were working out.
And she was the idiot staring at them through the glass like some enchanted stalker.
She swallowed and pressed in closer, peeking through the door to get a better view.
The first person she caught was....
Rhydric.
He was on a stationary cycling machine, earphones in, lost in the rhythm.
A black sleeveless top clung to him like a second skin, outlining every carved muscle, every flex of his arms, every ripple of his chest.
He was huge, broader and bigger than the rest.
And the worst part?
His quietness made it infinitely hotter.
Athena felt heat gather deep in her belly, sinking down between her thighs.
God...the guy is so fuckable.
She forced her gaze away before she embarrassed herself.
Next was...Azrael.
The pretty one.
He wore a fitted blue compression shirt that matched perfectly with the icy color of his hair.
His lips were curved into a quiet, devastating smile at something Theo was saying.
Azrael smiling should’ve been illegal.
Athena’s pulse skipped.
Then her eyes drifted to...Theodore.
He was... shirtless.
Again.
His bare chest gleamed faintly with sweat, muscles flexing as he adjusted a weight machine.
She should have been used to seeing him like that.
She should have been unaffected.
But somehow her heart still did a stupid little tumble like she was seeing him for the first time.
She was about to look away when her gaze landed on the last person in the room.
Eryx.
He wore a pair of shorts that showed off his thick, powerful thighs, thighs she knew damn well could cage someone easily, and a dark body-hugging top that left no imagination to what was underneath.
Her eyes drifted up...slowly...and met his.
Athena froze.
Every muscle in Eryx’s body stilled as recognition hit him.
Then...A slow smirk unfurled across his lips.
He dragged his tongue across his teeth like a man savoring something. "Drooling on me, princess?"
The moment the words "Drooling on me, princess?" left his mouth, he was already moving slow, confident, unhurried in a way that made her stomach twist.
He crossed the gym like a storm disguised as a man.
Athena panicked instinctively stepping back from the glass, but Eryx reached the door before she could fully escape. He grabbed the handle, pushed the glass wide open, and the humid, warm air of the gym spilled over her.
Then his hand slid to her waist. Pulling her flushed against him.
"Morning," he drawled.
She barely had time to squeak before he tugged her forward, no, claimed her forward, until her entire body collided with his chest.
Her breath punched out of her.
Heat shot up her neck. Down her spine.
"E–Eryx," she stuttered, palms pressed lightly against his chest as if she could push him away.
He was warm. So warm. And he smelled like sweat and cedarwood and something dangerously male.
Her face burned. Behind him, she could feel the others looking at her.
Theo had paused mid-rep. Azrael’s eyes had narrowed, lips pursed.
Rhydric didn’t stop pedaling, but his gaze kept flickering to them.
But Eryx didn’t care about any of them.
His attention was chained to her.
"You’re blushing." His voice dipped, teasing. "Cute."
"I...I wasn’t... I wasn’t staring," she blurted, mortified.
He leaned down slightly, letting his breath ghost across her cheek.
"So you just happened to stand outside the glass door... staring at us... in those little shorts... for absolutely no reason?"
Her throat tightened. "I wasn’t...I was just..."
He grinned. "You’re a terrible liar, princess."
Her heart thudded against her ribs.
She tried again weakly, and desperately.
"Let go. They’re all... they’re all looking at us..."
"Good," he murmured.
Her eyes widened. "What?"
"Let them look." He lifted her chin gently with one finger. "Maybe they’ll take the hint."
"H–hint?"
"That you’re mine." he said softly.
And before she could make a single coherent sound. He scooped her up, gathering her into his arms.
"E–RYX!" she squeaked, her arms flying around his shoulders on instinct. "Put me down!"
He smirked, shifting her easily in his arms as he walked back inside the gym. "No."
"Eryx...!"
"No," he repeated simply, as if the word itself was law. "You showed up looking impossibly perfect... I’m keeping you."
Athena could feel her whole body burning. She buried her face against his neck to hide the crimson spreading across her cheeks, but that only made Eryx’s smirk deepen.
He carried her all the way to the center of the room.
He sat down on a padded workout bench and effortlessly settled her onto his lap, one arm wrapped securely around her waist, the other resting boldly on her thigh.
Athena stiffened like a shocked kitten, hands pushing lightly at his chest.
"E–Eryx, stop! This is embarrassing..."
"Not to me," he murmured, voice dropping. "I like having you here."
"You can’t just...just pull me around like a doll!"
"I can," he said smugly, "and I will."
Athena’s face flamed so hard she thought she might combust on the spot.
She tried to wriggle off his lap, but his hand slid to her hip and held her firmly in place.
"Stop moving," he warned, voice low. "Unless you want to make this worse."
She froze instantly.
Eryx chuckled, leaning in to nudge her cheek with his nose. "There she is... my shy little princess."
"Eryx!" she whispered harshly, feeling all eyes on her even though no one spoke.
He pulled her a tiny bit closer, his lips brushing her ear.
"You know," he murmured, soft and sinful, "if you’re going to watch us work out first thing in the morning... the least you could do is say good morning back."
Her throat tightened.
She whispered shyly, "Good morning..."
He smirked, pleased.
Azrael scoffed. Theo exhaled slowly, trying to hide something in his expression. Rhydric’s gaze flickered toward them again, unreadable.
But Eryx?
He tucked her hair behind her ear and said. "That’s better."
For a moment, the gym was quiet.
The only sound was the faint hum of machinery and the slow, steady breath Eryx exhaled against Athena’s neck as he kept her caged on his lap.
"You’re being loud this morning." he said, his voice cold, cutting through the room like a blade.
Azrael.
He stood with his arms crossed, leaning casually against a machine, but his icy blue eyes were anything but calm. They were fixed entirely on Athena, specifically on the way Eryx’s hands wrapped around her waist.
Eryx didn’t turn his head.
He smirked without looking away from Athena’s flushed face. "Sounds like someone’s irritated."
Azrael’s jaw ticked, just once. "You hauled her in here like a caveman," he said, voice deceptively soft. "Maybe try acting civil for once."
Eryx finally turned his head. Enough to meet Azrael’s gaze with a lazy, taunting smile.
"Maybe try minding your business for once."
Azrael’s eyes darkened.
He lifted an elegant brow lifted."She was standing outside the door. She wasn’t asking to be dragged into your lap."
Eryx’s arm tightened around Athena’s waist.
Athena’s breath hitched.
He tilted his head at Azrael, voice low. "And yet here she is here."
Azrael stepped forward slowly..."
Theo paused, subtly, like he was ready to stop a fight, but he said nothing yet.
Athena swallowed hard.
Eryx felt it... and smirked wider.
"You’re enjoying this," Azrael accused quietly.
Eryx shrugged, smug as sin. "Not my fault she likes being close to me."
"I don’t...!" Athena blurted, mortified. But her voice was a small, tiny thing in a room full of tension.
Azrael’s gaze flicked to her, softer but still burning.
"Athena," he said, voice lower. "If he’s making you uncomfortable, say it."
Her heartbeat stumbled.
Before she could speak, Eryx angled her chin up with two fingers, making her look at him.
"Tell him no, princess," he murmured. "Go on."
Athena froze.
She couldn’t speak at all.
