Daughter of oblivion: Claimed by four alpha(s)-Chapter 138 - 136: Adrianna’s Doom...
Chapter 138: Chapter 136: Adrianna’s Doom...
What the fuck did Leo feed this guy? Each passing day, his behavior was becoming more of Leo.
"Leo," Athena said next. The boy spun in a theatrical pirouette, nearly losing his balance and stumbling forward. The room erupted in laughter, and even Athena covered her mouth to hide her giggle.
"Alaric... and Armand," she added, watching them stride forward. Alaric gave her a warm, steady smile. Armand offered only a curt nod, though his eyes betrayed faint amusement.
For a moment, Athena paused, scanning the room again. This was the time to choose whomever she trust. This wasn’t about the whispers or pressure of the students.
She took in a deep breath, then she shifted her gaze to the phantom fours. Her voice clear. "The Phantom Fours."
The chamber erupted in chaos. Students gasped, mouths hung open in shock.
Did she just...?
She’s choosing all of them?
She’s such a—bitch...
The Phantom Fours reacted instantly.
Eryx’s lips curved slowly into a predatory grin. God, she’s such a cute little princess, he thought, his eyes alight with something that bordered on hunger. He thrill of being chosen so clear. Although she chose all of them, he was still satisfied that he get to be beside her.
Theodore’s smile was softer, more amused, crinkling at the corners of his eyes as he regarded her. There was a quiet satisfaction in knowing she trusted him enough to include him, even amidst the tension.
Azrael’s gaze swept over her from head to toe. Would he be overreacting if he spin her around the room? She never seized to amuse him.
Rhydric, as always, remained silent, but his eyes followed her every move without making a reaction. And yet, Athena felt the weight of his attention pressing against her chest.
Athena felt suddenly very small under their combined gaze. The heat of their attention, the intensity of their silent desire and expectation, made her knees feel weak. It was as though they could devour her with a look.
The Phantom Fours began moving toward her, each step commanding respect in the room.
Before they could reach her, a sharp, commanding voice rang out, cutting through the tension like a blade. "Athena. You have no right to pick all the Phantom Fours for your group."
Azrael’s eyes rolled so hard it almost made a sound. His lips muttered under his breath, just enough for Athena to catch it. "This Eryx’s beloved doesn’t know when to shut up."
Theodore simply shook his head with a faint smile, amusement dancing in his eyes.
Eryx’s glare shot toward Azrael.
Rhydric, on the other hand, didn’t react, but the clenched of his hand betrayed his composure. If the gods doesn’t take that Adrianna girl, he would send her back to heaven himself. Such a waste of human production.
Adrianna stepped forward, chin tilted high as if she owned the entire Visionary Chamber. "She has no right to choose all the Phantom Fours," she announced loudly, her voice slicing through the murmurs.
Before anyone else could open their mouth, Alaric spoke, voice calm but laced with frost. "And why is that?"
Everyone knew Alaric didn’t like the Phantom Fours, but this wasn’t about them. This was about Athena, and he would defend her without hesitation.
Adrianna visibly faltered. Her lips trembled as she struggled to find something....anything, that sounded intelligent and more convincing. But she forgot she was a dumbass. "B‑Because... b‑because... choosing all four of them is... is unfair! Yes! It gives her... um... unfair advantages over everyone else!" she declared, lifting her chin triumphantly, as if she had just delivered the greatest argument in history.
A few students snorted. Someone whispered, "What kind of reason is that?"
Felicia stepped forward, annoyance written all over her face. "In case you don’t know, Adrianna," she said sweetly, "according to the rules, Athena has the right to choose whoever she wants as her ally. And you don’t have the right to interrupt."
Adrianna swung toward Felicia like a snake striking. "And you have no right to interrupt me while I’m still talking, bitch!"
The entire room inhaled sharply.
Levi rolled his eyes. "She fucked herself."
Athena took a step forward, fury rising in her chest as she prepared to defend her friend...who the fuck did Adrianna think she is?
But the mechanical robotic voice boomed across the chamber before she could open her mouth. "Miss Adrianna. You have used a forbidden word during an active challenge. According to Rule, verbal slurs are prohibited. You are hereby disqualified.
Leave the Visionary Chamber respectfully.
Scholar Athena Ashbourn has the right to select any ten individuals she wants, including the Phantom Fours."
Adrianna froze, eyes blown wide.
"W‑WHAT?!" she shrieked. "You can’t just disqualify me like that! I didn’t even get the chance to participate! THIS ISN’T FAIR!"
The voice responded, unbothered. "Leave respectfully. Failure to comply will result in removal by onsite security."
"I SAID I’M NOT LEAVING!" Adrianna screamed, stomping her foot like a child.
Her voice cracked as she turned in circles, glaring at the students. "You idiots! All of you are stupid! Especially you, Athena! And Felicia, you fake little..."
The chamber doors slid open. Four guards walked in, expressionless.
"No! NO! Don’t touch me! I SAID...DON’T TOUCH ME!" she screeched as they grabbed her arms.
She kicked wildly, heels scraping across the floor. "LET GO OF ME! GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME, YOU USELESS PIECES OF SHIT!"
She thrashed harder. "YOU RUSTY TIN-CAN VOICE! I HOPE YOU BREAK!"
"ATHENA YOU BITCH—THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
"FELICIA YOU PLASTIC-FACED WHORE!"
"And Phantom Fours...YOU FUCKING DEMONS!"
The guards lifted her clean off the ground as she continued to flail.
Her screams echoed down the hallway until the doors shut with a heavy thud.
Silence fell in the room.
Athena slowly smiled. A satisfied smile.
If the mechanical voice hadn’t stepped in, she would have happily torn Adrianna into tiny pieces with her bare hands.
Felicia snickered under her breath.
Leo whispered, "That was the best thing I’ve seen all year."
Levi nodded, wiping tears from his eyes. "Legendary."
