Debuff Master-Chapter 1085

Chapter 1085

Chapter 1085
Tens of thousands of swords swept away the Low-Ranking Fallen Angels who had been guarding the ones carrying the Protogenoi.
Fwooooosh!
The flaming swords whirled together, merging into a violent cyclone that unleashed an even more intense storm of hellfire. The splash damage unleashed by it swallowed the Low-Ranking Fallen Angels whole.
Shwaaa!
Swept up in the blaze caused by the Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain, the fallen angels were reduced to nothing but black ashes that eventually scattered into the wind.
The Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain greedily devoured the fallen angels, annihilating the fallen angels assigned to protect the ones carrying the Protogenoi.
“Hey, Hamchi!” Siegfried called out to Hamchi, who was riding on his back.

Kyuuu!”
“Wipe them all out!”
“Roger that!
Kyuuuu!”
Following Siegfried’s command, Hamchi opened his mouth wide and unleashed his signature laser beam.

Kyuoooooo!”
The laser beam’s destructiveness had increased dramatically along with Hamchi’s level.
Ziiiiiing!
The fallen angels carrying the Protogenoi were shot down by the laser beam. No matter how powerful they were, it would be impossible for them to keep flying with a hole the size of a fist in their torso.
“W-What?!”
“What was that?!”
The fallen angels fell into disarray when their comrades were shot down.
“W-We’re falling!”
“Brothers and sisters! Hold firm!”
“Hold on! Don’t let go!”
The fallen angels carrying the Protogenoi lost their balance after some of them were shot down by Hamchi. They held on with every last ounce of their strength in order to avoid plummeting from the sky, but it was to no avail.
The Protogenoi were simply too heavy, so the absence of even one fallen angel made things difficult for the rest.
“I’ll help,” Shakiro said.
Wooong!
Riding his aura blade like a snowboard, Shakiro activated his own version of Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain.
He was not going to be outdone by Siegfried. While he couldn’t summon elemental swords imbued with fire or ice, the destructive force of Shakiro’s version of Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain was just as terrifying as Siegfried’s.
If Siegfried’s version relied on overwhelming brute force, then Shakiro’s version relied on razor-sharp pinpoint precision.
Swoosh! Chwaaak!
Every one of the countless aura blades flew in trajectories that targeted the enemy’s vital points with surgical accuracy.

As expected,’
Siegfried couldn’t help but admire Shakiro’s skills all over again.
Shakiro’s control over Transcendent Torrential Flower Rain was on an entirely different level of precision. It was far beyond what even Siegfried could hope to achieve.
“Aaaagh!”
Right after Shakiro unleashed his attack, the Protogenoi began to fall one after another.
Their carriers, the fallen angels, were neutralized by Siegfried and Shakiro. Without their
wings,
gravity took over and dragged the Protogenoi back down to the world where they were condemned to stay for an eternity.
And the outcome was simply catastrophic..
Splash! Splash!
The Protogenoi plunged straight into the river of lava flowing below and melted instantly.
The lava in this underground cavern was so unimaginably hot that even the Protogenoi, the first creations of the Creator, were no match for it.

That’s it!’
Siegfried exclaimed inwardly.
When he saw how the Protogenoi had melted instantly upon plunging into the lava, he realized exactly what tactic they needed to use against the Protogenoi and the angels.
The fallen angels guarding the formation had already been wiped out, which meant that there was no one left to protect them.
The rest of the fallen angels were still flying mid-air with the Protogenoi in tow, which meant that they couldn’t defend themselves from the barrage of attacks that Siegfried and his comrades were about to unleash.
***
The fallen angels were on the verge of losing their minds after getting pummeled by the enemy. They couldn’t fight back at all, as they were still carrying the Protogenoi, and the fact that they were sitting ducks drove them mad.
However, there was nothing else they could do aside from taking the hits.
Why?
It was all because they would have to drop the Protogenoi in order to retaliate against the attacks, as fighting while carrying these colossal giants was impossible to begin with.
Still, abandoning the Protogenoi was not a choice.
This mission was issued directly by none other than the current Chief Archangel, Lucifer, so it had to be successful no matter what.
“D-Damn it!” Garuel gritted his teeth and trembled with fury. As the one in charge of the entire operation, he was now caught between two impossible choices. He couldn’t make up his mind on what to do.
“Damn it all! I’ll personally kill every last one of you!”
Unable to take it any longer, Garuel sped toward Siegfried.
No matter how powerful Siegfried was, there was no way he could possibly take on Garuel without transforming into the Demon Lord of Greed and Betrayal.
At best, all he could do was hold out until he would eventually lose.
However, Siegfried was not Garuel’s opponent this time.
“Garuel!" Michael shouted and blocked Garuel’s path. “This is your last warning, Garuel. Stand down.”
“You are a traitor to your own kind, Michael!”
“Garuel... you’ve left me with no choice,” Michael muttered with a dark face, but a different expression quickly replaced it.
“I will stop you, Garuel,” Michael said firmly and went on the offensive.

A-Argh!”
Michael completely overwhelmed Garuel.
Michael was already powerful enough to overpower even the Archangel of Death, Zerachiel, in terms of skill. He had only lost to him at the time due to the difference in their stats, but now, he possessed nine wings.
Having nine wings placed him on par with or beyond most archangels.
In other words, this was a fight an angel like Garuel couldn’t simply win, regardless of whether he was a top-tier angel or not. With Michael marking Garuel, the remaining trio, Siegfried, Hamchi, and Shakiro, were free to go utterly berserk.
There was no one left to stop them now that the stronger fallen angel was busy.

Argh!”
“Ack!”
“Kyaaah!”
One after another, the fallen angels fell to the attacks unleashed by the trio.
“Y-You damned insects!”

Aaaack!”
When the angels they were strapped to were killed, the Protogenoi plunged to their deaths and met a tragic end. Having no flight capabilities meant that they were as good as dead.
They could survive falling from a moderate height, but they plummeted tens of thousands of kilometers into a river of lava. Even the Protogenoi, who were the first creatures ever created by the Creator, couldn’t survive such a fall.
Meanwhile—

[Alert: You have absorbed soul energy!]
Siegfried harvested the souls of the fallen angels and gradually filled up the energy required to activate the skill, Demon Lord’s Descent.
But that was not all.

He raked in a massive amount of experience points from hunting the fallen angels and as a result...
[Alert: You have leveled up!]
[Alert: You have reached Level 440!]
He was now just nine levels away from reaching the wall that stood between him and the realm of Grandmasters. Upon leveling up nine more times, he would finally be at the cusp of becoming a Grandmaster.

You will have to put everything on the line.”
Of course, he would have to pass the test given personally by Deus to break through the wall and become a Grandmaster.
***
The battle was over in an instant.
Garuel, the commander of the operation, suffered a fatal wound—a gaping hole through his chest.
“I didn’t... think... I would die like this... at the hands of a... traitor...!” Garuel spat the words at Michael before plummeting to his death.
In the end, Michael sentenced him to his demise.
The other fallen angels and the Protogenoi suffered the same fate.
Siegfried’s party did not spare a single one of the fallen angels, and the entire Protogenoi race, from its leaders to the lowest-ranking one, plunged into the river of lava below and perished.
The first creatures created by the Creator, who dared to rebel against Him, had met such a hollow and pitiful end.
“I think we really got lucky this time,” Siegfried said, shaking his head. Then, he grumbled, “Things would have gotten really ugly if we couldn't stop them.”
If those giants armed with divine powers were unleashed into the Middle Realm, then the catastrophe that would have followed would be simply unimaginable. They only managed to stop them by sheer luck, as they were in the right place at the right time.
Had they been caught off guard...
Just thinking about what could have happened sent a chill down Siegfried’s spine.
“I think it is time to head back,” Siegfried said.
“Yes, I agree.”

Kyuuu!
Let’s go!”
Hamchi and Shakiro responded without hesitation, ready to return to the Middle Realm.
However, one person remained still.
“...”
Michael did not respond. Instead, he muttered under his breath, “How many more must I...”
Sorrow would fill his heart every time he killed one of his own kin with his own hands, and the sorrow made him feel conflicted about his decisions. Rather than being weak or indecisive, Michael was an angel so upright and kindhearted that he could never get used to slaying his own brothers and sisters.
“Michael...”
Siegfried understood Michael’s gentleness, so he never once thought of him as weak.
Besides, if there was someone capable of killing their own people without batting an eye, then could they be even considered sane to begin with?

Ah,
I have delayed us. Let us go,” Michael said, after coming back to his senses.
He finally spread his wings and took flight toward the surface.
Thus, Siegfried’s party flew as fast as they could and made their way back.
The journey back to the surface was a long one. It was so long that Siegfried was forced to sleep inside his VR capsule while being carried by Michael.
It took a long time for them to reach the bottom of the pit, but returning to the surface took even longer.
“Thank you for all your hard work.”
Upon arriving at the surface, Siegfried turned to Michael and Shakiro, showing his sincere gratitude.
“No, you were the one who worked the hardest.”
“You did well, Siegfried.”
Michael and Shakiro reciprocated with their own words of appreciation.
“Well then, take care. I have things to take care of, so I will excuse myself—”
"
Ah,
Siegfried."
Siegfried was just about to head off immediately to prepare for the upcoming war against the Holy Alliance when Michael called out to him upon recalling something.
At the same time, Shakiro also called out to him as if he had something to say.
“There’s something I need to tell you, Siegfried.”

Eh?”
Siegfried looked at the two of them. Then, he asked, “What is going on?”
Michael gestured politely and said, “Please, go ahead first.”
“I will then,” Shakiro accepted the gesture with a nod. Then, he turned to Siegfried and said, “I have something to tell you about Beggarius.”

Ah...
” Siegfried muttered.
He remembered that Shakiro had mentioned something about the backstory of the Beggar King, Beggarius, before they ventured into the Lava Cavern: World of the Condemned.
“Shall we set camp somewhere first? It is getting late now, Master,” Siegfried said.
“Let’s do that,” Shakiro agreed.
The group stepped away from the cave and into a nearby small forest. There, they pitched their tents, lit a campfire, and gathered around it.
“You don’t know anything about Beggarius, do you, Siegfried?”
“Honestly, I do not, Master.”
“I see...”
“Is there some secret story behind him?”
“Do you know what Beggarius’ real name is?”
“No, Master.”
“His real name is... Deggendorf von Posteriore.”

Ah,
I see... So his real name was Deggendorf von Posteri—wait, what?!” Siegfried shrieked and jumped up in shock. He had never imagined, even in his wildest dreams, that
this
would be the real identity of the Beggar King, Beggarius.
