Chapter 1352 - Calamity
Zhuge Ming's words began to shake many people's decisions. After all, from a long-term view, nothing he said was wrong.
The moment that Heaven Gaze Realm elder expressed his opinion, the elders who had supported the Lingqiong Clan earlier immediately began to regret it. If another sect were to beat them to the True Martial Continent and enslave their descendants, it would bring immeasurable shame to the sect.
"I agree with the construction of the interstellar teleportation array!"
"I agree to it as well!"
"Me too!"
"Agreed!"
"Elder He, weren't you against constructing the interstellar teleportation array earlier? Why did you change your mind all of a sudden?" An elder who had supported the Lingqiong Clan earlier turned at once to support Liu Wuxie.
"No one said that I must only take one side," the elder chuckled, raising his right hand.
In the blink of an eye, more than a hundred elders had raised their hands, and the number continued to grow. Many who had previously chosen neutrality also raised their hands to support construction.
They could earn resources steadily again, and the sect no longer lacked them. If they lost their reputation, however, it would be gone forever.
The number of raised hands surpassed those in disagreement, and more hands kept rising. This sight brought a smile to Hua Feiyu's face as a total of 240 elders supported constructing the interstellar teleportation array to bring the True Martial Continent back.
The vote crushed the Lingqiong Clan.
"Lingqiong Gong, do you have anything else to say now?" Hua Feiyu asked, eyes narrowed. After all, the Lingqiong Clan had proposed a majority vote, and it ended with more supporters for construction.
"The interstellar teleportation array has to be built on both ends. Even if we've decided to build it, how are we going to build one in the True Martial Continent? It's still useless even if we all agreed to it," Lingqiong Gong argued, though his tone had softened notably.
Even he couldn't fathom why so many had supported Liu Wuxie. He didn't know Liu Wuxie had begun to bribe disciples back in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower, whose seniors were elders in the Heavenly Dragon Sect, and they naturally supported Liu Wuxie.
"Lingqiong Gong, that's not your concern. My Han Clan naturally has a way," Elder Han said, rising to his feet. With the matter settled, he had no reason to stay longer, and he walked toward Liu Wuxie.
"Greetings, Elder Han!" Liu Wuxie bowed.
"Once this is over, come to the Spirit Sealing Institute," Elder Han said, patting Liu Wuxie's shoulder. He did not elaborate.
"Understood," Liu Wuxie answered, seeing Elder Han and the others from the Spirit Sealing Institute.
"You watch out," the Lingqiong Clan said as they rose to their feet. There was no longer any meaning for them to stay.
When the Han Clan and the Lingqiong Clan left, the main hall fell silent once more.
"Liu Wuxie, are you willing to become my disciple?" Hua Feiyu asked out of nowhere, leaving everyone stunned. But they soon understood the sect master's intent.
Liu Wuxie had already offended the Lingqiong Clan today, and they would stop at nothing to kill him once he left this hall. Elder Long alone couldn't shield him, and within three days, his enemies would turn Liu Wuxie into a corpse.
Though the Lingqiong Clan didn't interfere with the sect's internal affairs, that didn't mean they had declined to do so. After so many years of development, their overall strength had even grown to rival the Heavenly Dragon Sect. They could easily crush Liu Wuxie by sending a single Earth Immortal Realm expert.
If Liu Wuxie became the sect master's disciple, it would grant him protection. Even the Lingqiong Clan would have to think twice about touching him; at the very least, they wouldn't dare to act openly. With enough caution, he would have a high chance of survival.
"I pay my respect to masteM!" Liu Wuxie said, dropping to one knee.
The Heavenly Spirit Celestial Academy's Elder Madman had shown him great kindness, but he couldn't be considered his master—at best a guide on his path.
Liu Wuxie naturally recognized Hua Feiyu's goodwill. He had no reason to refuse; it was just a form of address, and he did not fuss over such things. Moreover, Hua Feiyu had saved him multiple times, and he had no grounds to refuse.
"Congratulations, Sect Master, for obtaining such a treasured disciple!" Many elders rose to offer their congratulations. Everyone could see Liu Wuxie's boundless potential, and it was only a matter of time before he surpassed old antiques like them.
"The meeting will end here today. All elders can return to your posts," Hua Feiyu announced. He had words for Liu Wuxie in private.
Space kept distorting in the main hall as the elders departed. Before Zhuge Ming left, he glanced at Liu Wuxie with a smile; they understood everything without a word.
"Are you satisfied with how things have turned out today?" Hua Feiyu smiled, looking at Liu Wuxie. Now that everyone had left, there was no need for pretense. The two had played their parts perfectly, ensuring everything went as planned.
"Thank you for making it possible. But I have a question that needs Master's guidance," Liu Wuxie replied. Without Hua Feiyu's help, the sect wouldn't have easily agreed to construct the interstellar teleportation array under the Lingqiong Clan's intervention.
"Go on. I know you have many doubts, and I'll answer whatever I can," Hua Feiyu said, taking his seat. With no one else present, he signaled for Liu Wuxie to relax and speak freely.
"Can I know why you helped me so much? You even sent a phantom to Mount Dragon City to protect me from that mysterious black figure and sent Senior Zhuge to lead the expedition, protecting me from the shadows," Liu Wuxie asked.
Had Hua Feiyu not sent Zhuge Ming to lead the expedition to the Myriad Race Ceremony, the Grand Unity Sect would have killed him countless times. If another elder had led the expedition, they would not have cared about his life or death.
"A calamity," Hua Feiyu said.
"A calamity?" Liu Wuxie asked, his brows pinched.
"That's right, a calamity," Hua Feiyu replied, a hint of concern softening his usually composed face.
"What calamity?" Liu Wuxie pressed on.
"A disastrous calamity for the Heavenly Dragon Sect," Hua Feiyu replied with a sigh. Usually, he shouldn't have shared that with Liu Wuxie, but since the latter asked, he saw no reason to hide it.
"The Heavenly Dragon Sect has a long legacy of over a million years, and how could there be a calamity for it? Even the Grand Unity Sect won't be able to touch us, right?" Liu Wuxie asked.
The outside world knew only the Grand Unity Sect's rapid rise, unaware that the Heavenly Dragon Sect had been developing quietly throughout the years. In terms of development, it was no weaker than the Grand Unity Sect.
Moreover, the Heavenly Dragon Sect had immortals, and even if someone killed all its disciples, the sect could recover within a few thousand years. Thus, Liu Wuxie couldn't discern the "calamity" Hua Feiyu meant.
"The Spirit Sealing Institute has calculated for the past thousand years, but they couldn't get any more information on this calamity.
"Perhaps the calamity might arrive in the next few years or perhaps decades," Hua Feiyu answered. The Grand Unity Sect could not touch the Heavenly Dragon Sect, indicating the calamity originated elsewhere.
Who would believe that a sect with a legacy of over a million years could face a calamity that threatened the annihilation of the entire sect? Few would believe it even if anyone were to reveal it, but Hua Feiyu would never joke with Liu Wuxie about such a matter.
"But what does this calamity have to do with me?" Liu Wuxie pressed on. He was merely at the Primal Origin Realm, and what could he do to help when even the Heaven Gaze Realm experts couldn't stop it?
"You're the chosen one who will face the calamity. The Spirit Sealing Institute managed to calculate a few months ago that the chosen one has appeared, and they ultimately fixed their eyes on you," Hua Feiyu replied, sorrow glinting in his eyes.
"I'm the chosen one?" Liu Wuxie asked, baffled.
"I don't know the exact details about it. The Spirit Sealing Institute is still working to finalize details, and this is what we know for now. Keep it to yourself and don't mention it to anyone, lest it might stir panic among the sect," Hua Feiyu warned.
The Spirit Sealing Institute's divination had never failed before, and Hua Feiyu also hoped that they would be wrong this time.
"I understand!" Liu Wuxie knew this matter was too important to be disclosed, and it would only bring unnecessary panic among the sect that might even spread throughout the entire Indigo Bamboo Astral Domain.
"There's no need to burden yourself over. Just do as you would do normally, and we have to let everything take its course," Hua Feiyu continued, easing the burden on Liu Wuxie and signaling him not to feel too much pressure.
"I know what to do," Liu Wuxie replied. He had shouldered a far greater burden than this.
"I know most of your affairs," Hua Feiyu continued, shifting to a solemn tone. "I will join the other elders to open an Astral Domain Path in three days, and it will only last for three days. That means you have to return in three days, or you will be trapped there for eternity."
The temporary Astral Domain Path would only last for three days, and Liu Wuxie had too much to do during this period.
"Three days is more than enough," Liu Wuxie replied after a brief calculation. Three days were more than enough for him to handle what he needed in the True Martial Continent.
"I have three other disciples aside from you. The eldest now commands an army in the Blood Fiend Battlefield, the second is training outside the astral domain, and the third has gone beyond the stars to harvest Starry Sky Stones. You will meet them in the future," Hua Feiyu explained. He had three other disciples aside from Liu Wuxie, but none of them were in the sect.
Liu Wuxie was inwardly shocked upon hearing the news about his senior brothers. He hadn't expected that his three senior brothers would be so powerful.
The eldest disciple was fighting at the Blood Fiend Battlefield's frontlines; the second was training outside the astral domain, which was extremely dangerous. It was so dangerous that even cultivators at the Heaven Gaze Realm could not guarantee their own safe return.
Meanwhile, the third had ventured beyond the stars, where astral storms could sweep them away if they weren't careful.
"This is the Dragon Origin Herb that you need. I have nothing to give you, and you can have this eighth-grade spiritual pill as a meeting gift," Hua Feiyu said, sending a stalk of Dragon Origin Herb and a porcelain bottle to Liu Wuxie.
"Thank you, Master!" Liu Wuxie rejoiced. With the Dragon Origin Herb, they could finally save Han Feizi. As for the eighth-grade spiritual pill, he could use it to make his breakthrough to the fourth-level Primal Origin Realm.
"Alright, time is short. I believe you have other matters to attend to; I will contact you in three days," Hua Feiyu continued, signaling that Liu Wuxie could leave now.
Liu Wuxie still had many things to do in the next three days.
"I will take my leave!" Liu Wuxie said, cupping his fists toward Hua Feiyu and leaving the main hall, disappearing from the central peak with a leap.
"May you grow quickly," Hua Feiyu murmured and vanished, leaving behind a brief spatial distortion.
