When Lunaire and I emerged onto the surface through the 100th floor teleportation magic circle of the《Cocytus》… We found ourselves surrounded by an even thicker rampart than when we had first entered.
It seemed that the subjugation of the monsters that had already crawled outside was already complete.
The gathered adventurers raised cheers, praising each other’s accomplishments.
It had already been three days since Lunaire and I left the surface, and the number of adventurers gathered had swelled to many times what it was back then.
I had heard even before we went in that they were using the Sophia Trading Company’s influence to gather people, but still, it was pretty impressive how they managed to gather this many in just a few days.
「Looks like they successfully subjugated the monsters without any trouble.」
Veranta came walking toward us.
「I’m glad to hear the monsters on the surface have been subjugated.」
「Things did get a little hectic. In the end, most of the forces we had stationed across the land to protect key locations in this world had to be recalled here. I just hope the higher beings don’t take advantage of this opening… At any rate, we should first honestly celebrate the fact that we were able to resolve the major incident before us. I’ll rebuild it and strengthen that old temple which had sealed the《Cocytus》.」
Thanks to his abilities, Veranta was incredibly versatile, and on top of that, his pure leadership skills were impressive, that was truly reassuring.

Veranta explained with a proud look on his face.

The idea that there were such powerful forces scattered aroundt the world who never step onto the public stage, starting to make a sense to me.
Suddenly, an even louder cheer could be heard from afar.

「The world is saved because of you!」
…I heard familiar name, but it got an unfamiliar title attached to it.
「E-excuse me, give me a way please… Please move aside! Um, Kanata-san have returned, I have to go see him…!」
I could see Pomera being pushed around by the crowd, flustered and overwhelmed.
「Dragon God… Pomera?」
Veranta nodded when I asked.

Up until now, Pomera had already been praised as the saint, saint fist, and even drunken saint, but it seems she’s finally been elevated to the status of a god.
「Since Kanata has returned, that must mean the whole monster eradication quest has been taken care of.」
Rosmonde appeared behind us as Veranta and I had such a conversation.
「So you're helping out too, Rosemonde-san.」
「Did I not say so? After getting involved this much, I had every intention of seeing it through to the end. I am, after all, one of the A-rank adventurers myself.」
At that moment, Ramiel swiftly flew in and landed beside Rosemonde.

After letting out a cackling laugh, Ramiel narrowed her eyes and glared at Pomera in the distance, and then she heaved a sigh.

The slightly cold expression, and forelocks that trimmed neatly at the same height was something akin to her trademark.
「Kotone… San?」
She was Kotone Takanashi, a fellow otherworlder like me, known as the《Ares Hand》. The last time I saw her was in the magic city of Manarak.
「I see… so you summoned other otherworlders too, huh…」
I’d heard before that the《Gift Skill》often granted to otherworlders could potentially became balance breakers in this world.
Even if Kotone’s own level wasn’t particularly high, thanks to the《Ares Hand》, enabled her to wield any weapon with perfect mastery.
If Veranta had provided the right equipment for her, she would have become a formidable force capable of taking on even the monsters from《Cocytus》.

Said Kotone.

Maybe he figured it’s better to tell the otherworlders everything and ask for their cooperation rather than trying to hide the real situation from them.

「Well… I planned to make an official announcement.」
Veranta responded to my muttered words with those remarks.
「… EH?」
I was at lost for words, unable to comprehend what he said a moment ago.
「I said I intend to announce this matter officially. I’ll expose the truth to all of people living in Locklore, the fact that this world has been nothing more than a worthless form of entertainment for the higher beings.」
It was an absolutely explosive statement.
It left me completely dumbfounded.
If they go through with that, this world would completely lose its role as entertainment for the higher beings.
Because no matter how unreasonable or disastrous something might be, everyone would know it was Veranta and his group doing.
The meaning and perception of every event that occurs in this world would be drastically altered before and after the revelation.
「To start with, I’ll start by revealing the truth to the adventurers gathered here. Then, I’ll gather promising individuals, train them, and assemble a force of high-level warriors. 「Kanata, you're not still under the illusion that this is just your personal battle at this point, are you? We're going to liberate Locklore from the higher beings. This is a rebellion against them, a fight waged by all of humanity in Locklore.」
This matter had turned into quite a big deal…
No, maybe this was the kind of story it was meant to be from the beginning.
My existence, which was not intended by the higher beings, continues to diminish the value of Locklore in their eyes. In the end, there was no other choice but to fight for the fate of this world.
「I want to see it. A true Locklore, no longer a mere garden ruled by the malice of the higher beings. It's you who showed me that dream, Kanata, Lunaire. So don’t you dare tell me, after coming this far, that you're not prepared.」
「Yes, of course. We've come this far. I can't even begin to imagine what the higher beings will throw at us next, but we've already retrieved the world's planted schemes, and we've fended off both Luniman and Lucifer. We'll push forward as far as we can.」
I felt that Veranta was smiling upon hearing my response.
