Divorce Revenge System: Knowing the Future in Advance-Chapter 823 623: Cai Xiang's Nickname_2

Chapter 823

"Besides, being upset after failing an exam is also a psychological issue."
Dong Que was like a dreamer awoken by a single sentence, thinking that although the group leader was eccentric, he was indeed sharp.
Such an odd angle could be found by him.
But just crying to the Psychological Commissioner over a failed exam might seem too manipulative, a different excuse was needed.
On the other side, Jiang Nian was already home.
He put down his backpack and spread the test papers he needed to work on across the desk.
He glanced at his phone; it was still early. So he went to the kitchen, grabbed some stuff, and headed to Qianqian's place across the street.
"Knock, knock, knock."
"Coming." Qianqian dashed to open the door, flashing a sweet smile, "Welcome back, Master Chef."
Jiang Nian, a bit speechless, thought her shift from arrogant to respectful was amusing.
"Lead the way then."
"Alright, your humble servant shall lead the way..." Qianqian coughed and pushed Jiang Nian into the kitchen.
Then, she casually returned to the living room, flopping onto the couch to watch TV with Song Xiyun.
She spread her arms and wrapped them around Xiao Song's shoulders.
"Midnight snack is served."
Xiao Song: "... Qianqian, are you really that obsessed with midnight snacks?"
At these words, Qianqian put on a serious face.
"Xiyun, do you know? In life, apart from studying and working, everything else has to be done during holidays."
"For some people, even holidays are a luxury."
Song Xiyun: "???"
"And then?"
"So, don't you find it depressing?" Qianqian leaned in, staring at her, "What's the meaning of life then?"
Song Xiyun was a bit overwhelmed by her heavy philosophy and couldn't help but seriously think about it.
"Self-actualization?"
"Wrong, it's to grab some fries at the pier." Qianqian said, then stood up and spread her arms like a seagull.
Flapping her wings, she ran to the kitchen to supervise.
Song Xiyun, puzzled, waited for a while. Then she heard voices from the kitchen and couldn't help but smile.
She took out her phone and started checking the class group chat messages.
"Rice cake is here."
The dining table was bright with the chandelier overhead.
"Qianqian, I suspect you're addicted to carbs like these." Jiang Nian analyzed, "Always thinking about eating rice cakes."
She shook her head, "Nope, it's because I don't eat them often that I crave them."
With that, she took two small garlic leaves from her bowl and gave them to Jiang Nian across the table, deftly taking two rice cakes from his side.
"You like garlic sprouts, eat more to grow taller."
"Give it back."
"I spat on them, would you still want them?" Qianqian asked sincerely.
"Depends."
"Eww, you're kind of a freak." Qianqian said, "Since you like my saliva so much, you probably don't love rice cakes."
With that, she took another rice cake from Jiang Nian's bowl.
Jiang Nian: "..."
Halfway through the meal, Jiang Nian and Song Xiyun started talking about games. The truth about boosting couldn't be hidden, so he just came clean.
Xiao Song also returned the phone to Jiang Nian early on.
Just a few sentences into the conversation, Jiang Nian rekindled Song Xiyun's gaming itch.
After the midnight snack, she voluntarily went to do the dishes. Coming out, she found Jiang Nian gone and Qianqian in the shower.
So she lay down on the couch and opened her phone.
Almost instinctively, she checked some game news. Her fingers moved, feeling a bit empty.
....
The next day, morning self-study.
Class Three was buzzing with activity. Although it was English morning self-study, the first exam was Chinese, so everyone was reviewing Chinese.
Yet, some were doing nothing at all.
"Wang Yuhe, what do you see in the mirror?" Jiang Nian was reviewing with Chen Yunyun and Wang Yuhe.
In Lin Dong's group, a boy had suddenly taken a leave.
"What?"
Seeing Jiang Nian acting cautiously, she couldn't help leaning in.
"Hmm?"
Jiang Nian let go, revealing the mirror.
"A pig."
Wang Yuhe was instantly furious, trying to snatch his mirror. The two engaged in a tug-of-war, back and forth.
"Give it to me!!"
"No way!"
"You called me a pig, I'm going to beat you up." Wang Yuhe pouted, her long legs kicking under the table.
Jiang Nian firmly held her legs, twisting counterclockwise.
"Come on, move then."
"You just wait!!!" Wang Yuhe struggled fiercely but couldn't muster enough strength, "Will you dare let go?"
"Hehe." Jiang Nian wasn't falling for it.
Chen Yunyun was seriously memorizing her text, ignoring their squabble, knowing it wouldn't take long for Wang Yuhe to be reduced to tears.
"Knowing what can't be achieved in a rush, leaving behind an echo in the sad wind."
Jiang Nian had already pinned Wang Yuhe's hands to the table, dodging her zombie-like bites, and took the chance to ask Chen Yunyun.
"Are you memorizing the whole text?"
Chen Yunyun shook her head, "Only those few lines will be on the test."
"What if it comes up in the college entrance exam?" Lin Dong put down his materials and chimed in, "I feel this piece will definitely be on it."
Chen Yunyun pondered for a moment, then uttered two words.
"Resign yourself."
"That's a real 'accept your fate' moment." Jiang Nian nodded, "But Old Liu said, the chances of 'On Departure' being on the test are higher."
"Why?" Lin Dong asked, confused.
"Because it hasn't been tested before. There are only so many pieces in total. They choose one that looks easy."
Hearing this, Chen Yunyun nodded.
"Then I'll memorize the whole text."
Lin Dong: "...."
The favoritism was too obvious, not even pretending. She resigns to fate for her choice, but memorizes the whole text for his?
Sun Zhicheng was even more restless, watching the four of them conversing.
That spot used to be his.
He started regretting his embarrassing confession again, the root of all evil—never should have fallen for those motivational TikTok videos.
Confessing fail, and he really couldn't even be friends anymore.
As the bell for the end of morning self-study rang, the students quickly grabbed their exam supplies. They all rushed out of the classroom, crowding the hallway.
Li Hua spotted Cai Xiang in the crowd, giving an evil smile. He patted Jiang Nian on the shoulder and said.
"I heard Cai Xiang really dislikes being called by her nickname."
"What nickname?" Jiang Nian raised his eyebrows.
"Soy Milk."
"Such a funny nickname, how do you know about it?" Jiang Nian felt tempted.
"I used to be the all-knowing one." Li Hua smiled, "Do you dare call her by the nickname now?"
"What happens if I do?"
"I'll call you 'dad' for a week." Li Hua flashed a devilish grin, his hand resting on Jiang Nian's shoulder, coaxing him.
Jiang Nian stroked his chin, thinking it through, it was no loss either way.
"Deal."
"Soy Milk!!!"
A voice drew the attention of half the hallway. Cai Xiaoqing raised her head, meeting Jiang Nian's gaze.
Click, she popped out the tip of her retractable pen.
Grasping it in her hand, her face steady, she parted the crowd and headed straight for Jiang Nian.
"Oh crap!" Jiang Nian suddenly felt a chill on his neck.
He wanted to run, but it was too late.
"What did you just call me?" Cai Xiaoqing stared at him, her eyes dark, the signing pen in her hand clicking away.
"Duolingo, d-o-c....." Jiang Nian turned his back, mumbling, "You heard wrong."
Li Hua patted him on the shoulder, his face solemn.
"Brother, I'll handle your funeral arrangements."
Cai Xiaoqing's hand had already reached around Jiang Nian's neck, making the Great Demon King tremble with fear.
At a disadvantage, he was to be subdued.
When Jiang Nian had accepted his fate of having his neck broken, Cai Xiaoqing merely twisted him back forcefully.
"Next time, don't call me Soy Milk. My nickname is Weiwei."
With that, Cai Xiaoqing walked off coolly.
Jiang Nian was bewildered, Li Hua was dumbfounded.
"What's what?"
"Wait, Cai Xiang just let you off like that?" Li Hua was outraged, "When I called it once, she turned me into a folding chair."
"People aren't all the same." Jiang Nian remarked, "Hua, what should you call me now?"
"Chi Shi! It doesn't count!"
Li Hua said, then bolted. He merged into the crowd rushing to the exam, clattering down the stairs at speed.
"Hey, you jerk!" Jiang Nian chased after him.
Couldn't find him after going downstairs, so he gave up.
He got to the exam venue, and at the door where the list was posted, noted his exam number in his rough notebook, then turned to head inside.
He took his seat, realizing there seemed to be no familiar faces in the exam room.
