Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future-Chapter 217 - 217: Washed, Doomed, Finished? We’re Set!

Chapter 217

The hurricane blasting out from Universe 7's platform made all the viewing stands sway like candles in a storm.
"Is that the thing that got separated out?"
"He's just repeating one simple movement at insane speed, and it's generating that kind of wind pressure…"
"He's a complete monster…"
Fighters from the other universes braced against the gale, staring in a daze.
The Earth gang were blown all over the place, even more panicked than before.
"D-did something go wrong?"
"Levos, what's happening?"
"Did that separated body go out of control?"
"Miss Vados, please save Lord Levos!" Puar was on the verge of tears.
"Uh… everyone, calm down." Levos hurried to explain. "That separated body has no will of its own. I can control it however I want."
"For convenience, you can think of it as my clone."
And this "clone" could freely merge with him or separate again, basically like a living, plug-in battlesuit.
The result honestly caught even Levos off guard.
He couldn't help asking, "Miss Vados… did you do this on purpose, or were you just too lazy to fully separate everything?"
Vados only smiled and said nothing.
Seeing that nothing bad had happened to Levos, the Earth gang finally let out a collective sigh of relief.
But quickly, new confusion appeared on their faces.
"Uh, Levos, what exactly is your clone doing?"
"Training," Levos replied calmly. "Cell Max's body has never been fully developed."
"Tch." Beerus curled his lip with a "saw right through you" expression. "You're obviously doing this to put pressure on the other universes."
Champa bared his teeth. "Levos, you devious little brat, you're way too crafty!"
"As expected of the smartest one among us!" Goku said in awe.
"I'm a very honest person, okay?" Levos was speechless. "And Cell Max really is just working out."
He'd always worried his talent for cultivation wasn't that great.
But once Vados split him, a new path opened up in front of him.
Any natural shortcoming could be compensated with enough effort.
And now that he had an extra "body," his training efficiency had effectively doubled.
On top of that, this was basically semi-automatic training he just needed to give commands. No mental multitasking required.
Right now, Cell Max was hammering out push-ups at a rate of several thousand per second.
If Levos wasn't worried about the platform collapsing, that number could go even higher.
But at that point, the aftermath would be way worse than just "a bit of wind."
For the moment, the battlefield itself was the biggest bottleneck on his training efficiency.
He couldn't help wondering…
Can Cell Max split any further?
If he could separate out his four different evolution routes into four independent bodies, his growth rate would skyrocket.
Thinking this, he looked at Vados with anticipation.
"Miss Vados, could I trouble you to… split Cell Max into four?"
Vados let out a small sigh.
"I'm afraid not. Separating you alone already consumed a great deal of my strength. If I were to use the technique on you again, I wouldn't be able to handle it."
"Can't handle it?" Levos was surprised. "Don't tell me… you violated the Angels' principles just now when you used the Separation Technique on me?"
"Of course not," Vados denied immediately.
Then she walked calmly toward the other Universe 7 fighters and began using the technique on them one by one.
Light flashed across Piccolo and Buu's bodies.
A moment later, four Cell Juniors appeared on the platform.
Universe 7's two main fighters had just taken a huge hit to their overall power.
"Squeak!"
"Chirp!"
"Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth…"
The four little monsters had yet to figure out what was going on. They just stood in place, round black eyes darting everywhere as they looked around curiously.
Levos' head started to ache the moment he saw them.
His gaze automatically moved to Piccolo.
The Namekian's aura was unchanged.
Levos studied him for a moment, then realized why.
Vados had probably slacked off again.
Nail and Kami hadn't been split off, and even the Grand Supreme Kai that Buu had absorbed five million years ago hadn't reappeared.
That result was honestly pretty good.
Piccolo still had his Yellow and Orange forms.
And the power Buu had gained by absorbing the fused Zamasu clone was still intact.
The two of them were still far stronger than the vast majority of participants.
Levos was quietly lost in analysis when a sudden chill brushed his arm.
Puar was clinging tightly to him Vados was about to move on to her.
"Don't be nervous, Puar. You'll be fine," Levos said, ruffling the blue-haired girl's head.
At first, he'd been worried the forced Separation Technique might shatter Puar's mind.
But after watching Vados in action, he'd mostly relaxed.
She was absolutely holding back.
The question was: why?
After thinking it over for a while, Levos could only chalk it up to Vados' overwhelming confidence in Universe 6's own fighters.
At that moment, Vados slowly pulled her hand away from Puar's chest.
"It's over?" everyone murmured.
Because Puar… hadn't changed at all.
"Why isn't there a new body like with the others?" Champa asked in disappointment, then narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Vados, did you even do it?"
"I did. It just didn't separate."
"If she only has one consciousness inside her, couldn't you at least pull out something like a clone, the way you did with Levos?" Champa pressed.
"Levos is a very special case, which is why the 'clone separation' method even worked," Vados explained seriously. "And Puar's consciousness still hasn't fully synchronized with the power in her body. Forcing a separation would shatter her soul."
Levos' eyes widened slightly.
He hadn't expected the consequences for Puar to be that severe.
Good thing Vados hadn't forced it.
And from the sound of it, she'd gone to considerable effort with his case too.
That meant he owed Vados yet another favor.
Considering the times she had stepped in at critical moments back on the Sacred World of the Kais, Levos felt that simply repaying her with good food was no longer enough.
How is someone supposed to repay an Angel's favor, anyway…?
For now, though, he was more concerned with whether Puar would still be allowed to compete.
As expected, once Vados ed that she hadn't been able to separate Puar, someone protested.
"In that case, she should be stripped of her qualification!" Universe 9's Supreme Kai Roh said coldly.
"Hold on!" His God of Destruction, Sidra, immediately objected. "Just look at her, she's clearly weak. There's not a trace of a true warrior in her."
The Gods began whispering among themselves.
"He's right. You can tell if someone's strong just by their eyes."
"She obviously isn't. You can see at a glance she has no combat experience."
"If that training monster replaces her on the roster, we'll be in real trouble."
"How about we just…"
Supreme Kai Roh forced a stiff smile and withdrew his proposal.
"Since Puar wasn't separated, that proves she isn't cheating. Changing the roster at the last minute would be rather inappropriate…"
In the end, the Grand Minister finalized the four universes' lineups.
"To think they put someone with zero battle experience on the team… Universe 7 is finished," Universe 11's God of Destruction Belmod said, grin stretching to his ears.
"Chi-chi-chi, Beerus, you're doomed," Universe 4's God of Destruction Quitela sneered.
"Universe 7 is done for!"
Hearing them gloat, the corners of Levos' mouth lifted.
This time…
The tournament was in the bag.

Cabba, Caulifla, Kale, Frost, Hit
Universe 9 Fighters:
