Even If I’m Reborn as a Cute Dragon Girl, I Will Still Make a Harem-Book 6: Chapter 101: Caught Off Guard (part 1)

Book 6: Chapter 101: Caught Off Guard (part 1)
“Uhh…” Faced with the old man’s expectant smile, Lilith scratched her cheek, her gaze wandering. “I don’t really remember.”
“You don’t really remember?”
Old Gentleman leaned his wrinkled face closer, urging impatiently, “Then think! Come on—focus! You’ll remember!”
“But even if you say that…”
Lilith scratched her ears and cheeks, but no matter how hard she tried, her mind remained blank, like booting up an open-world game with only a tiny corner of the map unlocked.
“Though, if I had to guess…” She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. “I don’t think so.”
“You don’t think so?” The old man suddenly raised his voice, startling her out of her thoughts. “How could you?!”
He shot to his feet, his sleazy old face twisting in rage, spittle flying everywhere as he scolded, “You’re such a disappointment! You’ve disappointed me! After all this time, you still haven’t achieved your goal? What a waste of that gorgeous skin of yours! If I were you, I’d smash my head against a block of frozen tofu!”
“Come on… It’s not that bad…”
“It absolutely is!”
Before Lilith could recover from the verbal assault, an invisible force grabbed her by the collar and flung her outside with a whoosh.
“Ouch…” Lilith rubbed her sore little butt, tears welling in her eyes. “You old jerk! What was that for?!”
“Hmph! Since you haven’t reached your goal, don’t expect me to answer any of your questions!”
The shabby door slammed shut with a loud bang.
But just before it closed, a small plastic bag flew out and landed at her feet.
“Take this and get lost!”
“Cheapskate,” Lilith muttered.
Still, her attention was instantly caught by the aroma wafting from the bag.
“Whoa, scallion pancake!” Inside were her favorite scallion pancake. Judging by the smell of cheap oil, it was definitely one of those sold for a dollar fifty each at the park’s corner stall. “Hmph. I’ll forgive you for the sake of these scallion pancakes, old geezer.”
She was starving anyway.
Lilith dusted herself off and stood, taking big bites of the greasy scallion pancake. Her earlier irritation melted away almost instantly.
But as she ate, she tilted her head, frowning. Somehow, it didn’t taste quite as good as she remembered.
“Ah, whatever. At least it’s food.”
After devouring it in a few quick bites, Lilith patted her satisfied little belly.
“Thanks… huh?”
She turned to thank the old man, but the massive cardboard boxes had vanished without a trace. Only the streetlight remained, flickering occasionally.
“Leaving so abruptly? That’s not like you.” Lilith scratched her head, then frowned in frustration. “Where should I go now?”
She glanced at the darkness around her and instinctively stepped back beneath the streetlight.
There, she crouched down, hugging her knees.
She felt she should wait for something, though she couldn’t quite say what.

“Lilith…”
Just as she began to doze off, an eerie female voice suddenly appeared in her ear. A slender, pale hand emerged from the darkness and landed on her shoulder. 𝘳𝐀ꞐՕВÈ𝘴
“I… finally… found you…”
“Whoa…! Who’s there?!” Lilith jolted upright and tumbled several times before scrambling to her feet. She scuttled behind the utility pole.
After a long moment, she cautiously poked her little head out. She blinked her large eyes nervously as she asked timidly, “A-Are you a ghost? Can we talk this out, Miss Ghost? I’m skinny and not tasty, so please don’t eat me…”
“Who the hell are you calling a ghost?”
Lilith received a head chop.
“Do I look that much like a ghost to you?”
“Ow! That hurts!” Lilith clutched her head, crouching down with a pitiful whine. “Can you not hit me there? It stunts my growth!”
“You’re not going to grow any taller anyway!”
The silver-haired girl in a white dress stood before her, hands on her hips, fuming. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve been looking for you? And that’s what you say when we finally meet? You think I look like a ghost? Huh?”
“Oh… it’s you, Lesiah.”
The moment Lilith saw her, another flood of memories returned to her mind. They were all the adventures the Dragon Princess had shared with the crown princess of a human nation in the dream of the god.
“Oh, I was the Dragon Princess.” Lilith tapped her fist on her palm in realization. “That sounded pretty impressive.”
*But… what exactly is a dragon?*
“You’re spacing out again.” Lesiah pinched her cheeks in irritation. “Am I the last person you want to see right now?”
“Of course not.” Lilith suddenly put on a serious expression, then took Lesiah’s soft hands. Her lips curled into a mischievous smile. “I was just thinking about how to welcome you.”
“Oh? And did you figure that out?”
“Well… um…”
Lilith’s eyes darted around, searching for inspiration.
Lesiah’s gaze, however, grew increasingly pointed. It felt like if Lilith dared to brush her off, Lesiah would instantly transform into some ravenous monster and devour her whole.
Just then, something caught Lilith’s eye. Her expression brightened.
“Of course I did.”
With a confident smile, she took Lesiah’s hand and led her gracefully, like a swan gliding on water.
Then, with a quick spin, she snatched something from the base of the utility pole—a bouquet of roses.
The red blooms flared like fire, their petals lush and radiant. The bouquet also came with an elegant card. In golden letters, it read: *To my lovely Lesiah*.
“How thoughtful,” Lilith murmured.
She had no idea who left them there, but that person was definitely a saint.
When Lesiah turned back, Lilith pressed the bouquet into her arms with a charming smile.
“For you, my beautiful little princess.”
“Lilith, you…” Lesiah, who hadn’t expected much, was taken aback. Her heart swelled with emotion. Tears shimmered at the corners of her eyes.
“Looks like you really liked my little gift.”
Lilith slipped an arm around the princess’ slender waist, leaned in close, and their gazes locked.
*Perfect.*
If this were a Mary-Sue manga, imaginary flowers would already be blooming in the background.
“Lilith, so you… you knew all along.”
Lesiah covered her mouth, overcome with emotion.
*Hey, hey—it’s just a bouquet. No need to get that emotional.*
“Know what?” Lilith asked, feeling something was amiss.
“Oh, playing dumb now?” Lesiah said, smiling through her tears. “I know you wanted to surprise me, but pretending not to know just ruins the mood.” Then she rubbed her belly shyly and continued, “About your child that I’m carrying in me.”
