Evil Dragon, Without a Princess, I Had to Transform Myself!-Chapter 29 : The Letter

Chapter 29

"This, put it on."
Loranhir took off her outer garment and without further discussion put it on Patunasankus.
The previous scene had been quite striking; the hero's face still had a slight blush.
"This one too, wrap it around you. It might not fit well."
"I don't feel cold."
Patunasankus muttered softly.
"Put it on!"
This was the first time Loranhir's tone sounded so firm.
Patunasankus didn't know what was wrong with this person, whose eyes kept darting around, with steam seemingly rising from the top of her head.
It was all quite puzzling.
"...Oh."
Despite not understanding, the evil dragon nodded woodenly. She wrapped the slightly oversized coat around herself, smelling the fragrance it gave off. Loranhir also draped a garment over Evelyn, but unlike the simple covering purpose for the other, Patunasankus clearly noticed that the one Loranhir gave her was warmer.
This didn't matter either.
To the evil dragon, it was all the same.
The old staircase creaked for a while as Elaphia, covered in injuries, came downstairs. She immediately saw Loranhir bustling about in the abandoned courtyard.
"Facing a holy knight, yet still unscathed?" Elaphia said softly.
She had thought the troublesome holy knights of the Layang Empire would at least give the hero some minor difficulties, but she had clearly overestimated the holy knight's combat ability.
Given the headstrong nature of holy knights.
By now, he had probably already perished at the hero's hands.
'Truly worthy of being a hero, so powerful,' Elaphia thought.
If she had actively led Loranhir to this abandoned mansion, she wouldn't have been beaten up by the ferocious beast.
And for such a powerful hero to willingly serve the princess, it was clear that Grand Duke Dreka's desire to kill the princess under the protection of such a supremely powerful being was nothing but a fool's dream.
Elaphia gazed long at the holy sword at the hero's waist.
Legend had it that no one could witness the holy sword unsheathed and survive. The hero's strength was undeniable.
If... she could borrow the hero's power?
Elaphia had an idea.
"She is the ferocious beast?"
Listening to Patunasankus's explanation, Loranhir pointed at the sleeping Evelyn, her tone calm and steady.
"Mm."
Patunasankus nodded.
She had been hesitating whether to pretend to be scared or something, but noticing that Loranhir's attention was completely focused on Evelyn, she didn't bother to pretend.
Loranhir swallowed, imagining her several encounters with the ugly ferocious beast. The chilling memories still remained. Suddenly, she noticed Evelyn's eyelashes flutter.
Loranhir frowned, instinctively wanting to retreat behind Patunasankus, but at least she didn't actually do so.
Evelyn opened her eyes and saw before her a cold-faced girl with extraordinary bearing, accompanied by a suppressed heartbeat.
Evelyn shook her head. Before she could figure out who was in front of her, pain and whimpering followed.
Discomfort everywhere, like the splitting headache after a hangover, threatening to tear her consciousness apart.
"What's wrong with her?" Patunasankus asked.
The familiar voice made Evelyn instinctively look in that direction. Even knowing it was impossible, she still hoped, hoped for the shadow of a dandelion girl.
Then she froze.
"Probably aftereffects of the curse. She may need proper care for some time," Elaphia finally limped over. "Evelyn, lie still, don't move. We'll take you home soon."
Patunasankus noticed someone had been staring at her.
She just turned her head, her hair swaying.
"Evelyn?"
Patunasankus instinctively called the person's name.
Then, Evelyn captured the moment of her turning.
Long eyelashes slowly opened, eyes as blue as the sky. The moment they captured her figure, beautifully shaped pink lips opened and closed, a wonderful voice vibrating the air, the moment she called her name.
Evelyn's vision blurred.
She saw that dandelion again, the golden silk-like bud changing strange light patterns in the sunlight.
Suddenly, Evelyn clung tightly to the dandelion girl's hand, not letting go, as if afraid that someone would float away the moment she released her grip.
Evelyn couldn't remember the last time she had held her hand like this.
"...?"
Patunasankus looked puzzled, but for some reason, she also gripped the hand tighter. It was a strange resonance.
"Latifa," Evelyn softly called the girl's name, then her consciousness seemed to break, and she fell asleep in the evil dragon's arms.
Patunasankus didn't make any movement, her slender, tender hand stroking Evelyn's head, just as Latifa often did.
"Good night," the evil dragon whispered.

Meanwhile, at the Black Death Patunasankus's lair.
The evil dragon's head maid Isha pushed open the heavy fine gold door and saw that the huge bed was still empty.
Lady Patunasankus had been missing for a long time.
The monster servants all guessed she had probably gone to capture a new princess, but Isha knew the Black Death was not that kind of person.
She had come to present the once-a-decade Princess Symposium invitation to Patunasankus. Famous evil dragons from across the continent would be invited.
By all accounts, the dragon lady would not miss such a conference. She was an evil dragon full of base pleasures.
Perhaps she was busy with something important.
Isha placed the letter on the evil dragon's bed, knowing Lady Patunasankus would see it when she returned.
After doing all this, Isha also went to Latifa's room.
It was just as it had been when she left, spotless.
Pushing open the door that had never been locked from the beginning, Isha, according to the princess's preference, placed the customary bouquet in the vase.
Several rows of fresh flowers, neat and tidy, half pale yellow, half light purple, blooming vigorously and delicately.
Even though she knew.
The dandelion would never return.

On the evil dragon's bed was a letter that read:
[To the Hacked-to-Pieces Black Death Patunasankus:
It's been a long time since we've been in touch. I hope your character is as vile as before.
We sincerely invite you to participate in our continent-wide multi-racial Princess Symposium full of base pleasures.
We all look forward to you sharing your practical experience with us, so if time permits, please accept the invitation to attend.
The address and time of the exchange meeting remain as always.
Your arrogant,
Eternal Frozen Mist—Liulansankus]
