Evil Dragon, Without a Princess, I Had to Transform Myself!-Chapter 38 : Have You Sucked Any?

Chapter 38

Loranhir looked at Elaphia, and Elaphia looked at Loranhir.
Loranhir was afraid of Elaphia, and Elaphia was also afraid of the Hero.
One thought the Hero's abilities were unfathomably deep.
As a vampire thrall, being invited to join the team was already receiving tremendous grace from the Princess. Elaphia didn't dare offend the Hero in the slightest, fearing the other would blame her and kick her out of the team.
Although the Princess said she was in charge here and the Hero seemed quite obedient, Elaphia clearly understood she hadn't yet gained recognition from the most powerful Hero.
The other thought vampires were simply too frightening to exist. Loranhir had recently encountered a group of vampires who came to kill them. Even though both sides now had aligned interests, who knew if Elaphia might get thirsty and come suck some blood from her or the Princess.
Vampire thralls on the continent had a notorious reputation.
Not to mention Loranhir had heard the complete story and knew who wanted to kill the Princess, and where this team was planning to head.
The destination was undoubtedly Taurant.
Vlad Dreka's territory.
Loranhir didn't have the courage to face such a terrifyingly powerful existence. She thought the Princess was being far too blindly confident in her abilities.
If they really encountered the so-called Grand Duke Dreka, the Hero had no confidence that her fire poker could be drawn again.
No matter what, Loranhir had to try being honest with the Princess again.
And Loranhir did indeed try this.
Yesterday she had tried over and over to confess to the Princess, trying to explain the bloody fact that she was somehow a useless hero who didn't know how to draw the holy sword.
But this time too, just as Loranhir had finished preparing what to say, she only heard nearby breathing sounds.
She didn't know if her words were really boring and sleep-inducing, or if the Princess was already very tired from the day.
Anyway, Loranhir turned and saw the Princess curled up in a ball, sleeping on the sofa, with quiet breathing sounds continuously emerging and her pale chest rising and falling weakly.
This sleeping posture was like a slumbering dragon.
No, that was rather violent and excessive to say.
The Princess couldn't possibly be an evil dragon—how could she say such a thing?
Loranhir shook her head.
Hmm...
After thinking for a while.
She strictly classified it as a cat's cute sleeping posture.
But no matter how cute, to make the Princess clearly aware of her situation, Loranhir steeled her heart, wanting to wake the Princess up.
Could she be so heartless?
She would!
Loranhir gathered her courage and stepped forward.
Then...
Then she carried the Princess to bed and tucked her in properly.
The confession could wait until next time...
There would be plenty of opportunities...
Now, Loranhir sat here looking at Elaphia, and Elaphia looked at her too.
The Princess had slept until now and still hadn't gotten up.
Now the two stared at each other, not knowing what to say, like the most familiar strangers.
Loranhir really couldn't stand this weird silence anymore. She decided to say something to ease the atmosphere. She gave up on this staring contest.
Damn? What should she say to her? Or should she just keep quiet and pretend to be a master?
How about commenting that the weather was nice? But with such blazing sun outside, it wasn't good at all for vampires.
Loranhir cleared her throat.
"Have you sucked any?"
Loranhir said something so awful in her nervousness that even she collapsed upon hearing it.
She had meant to ask if the other had eaten today, but who knew it would come out like this.
Cold sweat beaded on Elaphia's forehead. She obviously took the Hero's crude words as a test—testing whether she would suddenly attack to suck the Princess's blood.
One wrong answer would at minimum result in being kicked out of the team.
Although Elaphia knew the Princess's blood smelled extremely sweet.
Not elegant and refined like plum or pear blossoms, not cool and clean like lilacs or roses, not intensely fragrant like lilies—it seemed to always float with something sweet, wonderful, and sacred.
But she had never considered sucking the Princess's blood.
She would absolutely not tolerate herself doing such a thing.
"Vlad never allows his thralls to drink fresh human blood, so..."
Elaphia hesitated somewhat, considering whether to mention such an embarrassing thing. After thinking, she answered honestly.
"The day before yesterday was three mice, yesterday was a wild boar, today... today I haven't had anything yet. I'm still hungry." She thought and added, "Because I finished all the mice in the attic."
"..."
Loranhir didn't know what to say. Hearing Elaphia's pitiful account, she couldn't say anything. This was the first time she'd heard of a vampire in such dire straits.
She really deserved to die.
Just as Loranhir wanted to slap herself twice for that question, she saw the Princess coming downstairs.
Still showing that stunning beauty, but her expression was different from usual—she looked somewhat confused, as if she'd encountered something incredible, her delicate brows slightly furrowed. Though even this expression was beautiful.
For a moment, Loranhir didn't know what had happened to her.
Patunasankus walked directly to Loranhir and got straight to the point.
"Let's go, we're setting off." She said decisively. "Immediately, right now."
"What's wrong?" Loranhir looked puzzled. "Did something happen?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Patunasankus's cheeks faintly flushed.
For some reason, Loranhir knew this was the first time she'd seen the Princess lose composure. From when she first met her until now, the girl had never shown such embarrassment.
Until now.
The evil dragon vigorously shook her head, shaking all the distracting thoughts out of her mind.
"Nothing. Nothing at all."
Thinking of the scene she'd encountered in the bedroom earlier, Patunasankus had no idea how to react.
She remembered very clearly—in her bedroom, in the room where she had been sleeping, waking, dressing, dazing, and breathing during this time, the scene she'd encountered.
Today had started as a very ordinary morning. She'd enjoyed her pastries and thought about going back to her room for a nap, but before she could return to her room, she heard strange sounds from the corridor.
Curiosity drove the evil dragon to secretly peek inside—a decision she extremely regretted.
Patunasankus saw Evelyn sprawled on her bed, rolling around, breathing heavily.
Breathing in the scent of clean sheets, detergent, fabric softener, and faintly, her sweat, the smell of hair on the pillow.
Everything, everything was Latifa's scent.
Evelyn's face was buried in the pillow, rubbing against it, her legs clamping the sheets...
In an instant, Patunasankus was frightened.
The fearless evil dragon was frightened.
Really.
She was frightened.
