Fate: I Just Want to Die and Sit on the Throne of Heroes-Chapter 65: Grab and Run [Bonus Chapter]

Chapter 65

Chapter 65: Grab and Run
This was Rowe’s maximum output with the Sword of Rupture.
No Gilgamesh lending him his treasures.
No Enkidu backing him up.
No entire nation pouring its strength into him.
Only his own body, his own circuits, his own will.
Naturally, the scale was not as grand as when he had faced the pantheon last time.
But in this place, in this timing, the result was no weaker at all.
Power that cleaves heaven and earth is always at its sharpest when the world is on the verge of being remade.
Crimson stormwinds howled across the roiling magma and half formed crust, forming a vast vortex with Rowe at its center.
The Sword of Rupture whirled.
The world split.
Within that severed domain, there were only two figures.
Rowe.
And the colossal primordial Mother Goddess.
“Aaaa…”
Tiamat’s eyes were still full of confusion and bewilderment.
But she seemed to have understood Rowe’s decision.
You love this world as well.
Do you also love the people who live upon it?
Her blossom colored eyes, star filled and clear, seemed to be asking that question.
Rowe did not answer aloud.
He did not need to.
His actions said enough.
The Sword of Rupture spun in his hand.
Rowe coughed violently, forcing down the weight pressing on his chest, enduring the black mud of divine malice that surged within his body, and raised the blade.
It was aimed at Tiamat.
The crimson light screamed.
Then, at the last moment, the trajectory shifted.
The sword did not point at her.
It pointed at the world.
Buzz.
A clear, sharp tone rang out, like a note from the birth of creation.
The air fractured.
Dust blew apart like shattered pottery. Cracks, pitch black, crawled through the sky and across the sea, spreading and joining, splitting the entire scene apart.
In an instant, the primordial landscape Tiamat had brought with her shattered.
And with it, so did this section of the world.
Rowe used the Sword of Rupture not to wound her, but to exploit the instability she had already caused.
He struck the boundary of reality itself.
He tore the world open.
He forced a gap wide enough for the Primordial Sea to retreat.
The Mother Goddess Tiamat was not an opponent he could casually defeat. With long preparation, perhaps. In such a hasty encounter, this was his limit.
Within the widening fractures, Tiamat fell silent.
She simply watched him.
As if trying to etch every detail of his form into her memory.
Until the flowing light folded in on itself.
The cracks closed.
And the world knit itself back together.

When the brilliance faded, Rowe still stood on the shoreline.
He coughed softly.
His body felt even weaker than before.
Not dead yet.
A little disappointing. But not entirely bad.
The ground beneath his feet was flat once more, no trace of the magma chasms from moments earlier.
The sea breeze had stilled.
All was quiet.
Only the setting sun in the distance, reflected in the slowly closing rift still hanging in the sky, marked that anything had happened at all.
“Rowe…”
Enkidu ran over, bare feet leaving faint prints on the sand beneath her robe.
“This King… tsk, forget it. This King will overlook it this time. With this King’s mercy, it is not impossible to tolerate your insolence a little longer.”
Gilgamesh also approached.
“But this King must make one thing clear. There is only one ruler in all heaven and earth, and that is this King.”
“This is the last time.”
He was obviously worried, but still insisted on sounding strict and uncompromising.
“What a stubborn duck,” Rowe sighed. “Gilgamesh, you duck.”
“You arro…”
“Cough, cough, cough!”
Gilgamesh’s retort was neatly smothered by Rowe’s sudden fit of coughing, as if, should he dare say one more word, the Sage would simply drop dead on the spot.
Gilgamesh froze.
A throat full of curses stuck fast, neither going up nor down, leaving him in exquisite torment.
Then he heard Rowe laughing.
“AHAHAHAHAH…”
That arrogant, familiar cadence.
Right now, he was a terminally ill patient. He could do whatever he wanted.
Rowe reached out and patted Gilgamesh’s head with great satisfaction.
Gilgamesh’s mouth twitched violently.
But he truly did not dare to do anything.
If he acted on impulse and something happened to this sickly man because of it, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
On the other side, Ishtar Rin finally exhaled and slowly bent to pick up the Bull of Heaven she had thrown earlier.
“Moo…”
The Bull of Heaven trembled and struggled.
It clearly loathed its good for nothing mistress, who always flung it away the instant something happened.
Yet, in the end, Ishtar Rin still forced it back into her arms.
“It’s fine now. You don’t have to worry anymore.”
Her voice had lost its usual sharp edge.
“Mm…”
Another voice overlapped with hers from within.
Ereshkigal.
The Goddess of the Underworld had descended into Ishtar’s body the moment she saw Rowe unleash that blow. By the time she was ready to act, it was already over.
Fortunately, Rowe was unharmed.
She could return to the Underworld again.
As she felt her sister’s presence withdraw, Ishtar Rin relaxed.
Then, as she looked back toward Rowe, she remembered the sensation of his hand on her head.
Her heart skipped and began to race again.
It was over.
Was she going to end up like Ereshkigal too?
Ishtar Rin let out a soft wail of despair in her heart.
Still…
For now, everyone was safe.
“Aaaa!”
A crisp cry suddenly echoed again.
The dark rift in the sky, which had been steadily narrowing, was abruptly forced wide open once more.
From within, just as it was about to close, a gigantic head pushed through.
Tiamat peeked out.
The colossal shadow of her body followed.
Before anyone could react, a hand like a mountain stretched down.
Dragon scaled fingers closed around Rowe’s body.
She scooped him up.
And ran.
Rowe: “?”
…Is this your idea of basic courtesy?
“Aaaa!”
The primordial Mother’s voice rang bright and clear.
Her legs never once touched the ground, yet her entire frame slid away at startling speed over the sea’s edge, seawater like a cloak beneath her, her long, ocean like hair streaming wildly behind her like a waterfall hanging from the sky.
In her cupped palms, she pressed Rowe against her chest, her delicate face faintly flushed.
The tides took up a new rhythm.
The waves surged and rolled, and the people scattered across the shore were left utterly stupefied, hair and clothes whipped in the wind.
Held in that enormous hand, Rowe was even more bewildered than they were.
She came back.
She feinted.
She ambushed him.
How could this Tiamat have absolutely no sense of martial ethics?
“Rowe!”
Enkidu was the first to move.
Her footwork shifted, and she sprang forward like an arrow leaving the bowstring.
“To lay hands upon this King’s subject without permission, even as the primordial Mother of Creation, is a crime of utmost disrespect toward the King!”
Gilgamesh was furious.
The Starry Ark roared as it shot into the sky.
Ishtar Rin: “…”
What was she supposed to do? Where was this going? Who was she again?
Once more, at the decisive moment, the Venus Goddess was left frozen in place.
Gilgamesh and Enkidu both gave chase at the same time.
However, a streak of light was even faster than either of them.
The Goddess of the Underworld, who had just returned to her realm…
Opened the gate of the Underworld again.
And in an instant, she arrived.
