Chapter 124: Chapter 79: Bootlicker!
"Cut more, cut more! Two pounds of meat isn’t enough for anyone!"
"Don’t cut the front leg, cut the hind leg, the hind leg meat is chewy, it’s delicious when roasted!"
"Everyone eat to your heart’s content, all the meat today is on me, the little demon!"
"You over there chanting, monk, you got your Sutra of Rebirth wrong! I’ve heard your Buddhist Sect’s ancestors chant it, come over and eat some meat first, I’ll teach you the correct way in a bit!"
With a dog chain around Taotie’s neck, it naturally invited everyone to eat meat, leaving everyone utterly befuddled!
The little venom whispered to Linglong, "Is this guy sick or something? Can you eat sick cow meat?"
Linglong rolled her eyes, "It’s a dog, not a cow... wait, it’s not a dog, it’s a Divine Beast, Taotie. How could a beast of this level get sick!"
Just then, Linglong saw Zuo Xiaoluo with a small knife, slicing meat from Taotie’s hind leg.
Taotie was generous, and so was Zuo Xiaoluo.
With one slice, she cut at least fifty pounds of hind leg meat.
Linglong’s eyelids twitched violently.
She looked at the chunk of hind leg Zuo Xiaoluo was holding, weighing more than her entire body, and said with a twinge of fear, "A normal beast would either be dead or half alive after being tormented by those two maniacs! But look at that Taotie, it acts like nothing happened, apart from being a bit dispirited, it wasn’t harmed in terms of Primordial Energy at all. Its vitality is simply astonishing!"
The little venom listened, half understanding.
She looked at the aromatic roasted meat and asked, "So, can you eat sick cow meat or not?"
Linglong instantly went crazy, "...You can eat it! Eat, eat, eat, but beware it’ll kill you!"
The little venom’s ears directly filtered out her latter sentence.
She nodded, "As long as you can eat it!"
With that, she ignored Linglong and trotted over to Zuo Xiaoluo, eagerly waiting to eat meat.
Linglong’s mouth twitched.
The Yao Race is always skilled at calculation, prioritizing benefits over family ties.
Linglong was also an expert at this, never opening her heart to anyone.
Even towards her own parents, she set up numerous contingencies.
But to the little venom, Linglong felt an instant connection.
She was both amazed by the little venom’s pure heart and worried about her naivety, afraid she’d be deceived.
So, whenever there was a chance, Linglong would break down all sorts of principles, explaining them bit by bit to the little venom.
Who would’ve thought, this little girl was a complete fool who didn’t understand anything.
Except when it came to food, she couldn’t understand anything else!
Linglong was both exasperated and amused.
Annoyed that the little venom was so unlearned, like a blockhead, not even a fraction as smart as her.
Amused that even though she was not even two years older than little venom, she was acting like a mother hen, lecturing her incessantly.
Just as Linglong was thinking, a skewer of steaming hot roast meat was suddenly placed in front of her.
She froze for a moment, then looked up in surprise.
Then she saw the little venom reluctantly holding up the skewer, clearly unwilling, but pretending to be generous, "Here, it’s for you to eat!"
Linglong’s heart warmed.
She glanced sideways, intentionally teasing little venom, reaching out to take the skewer.
It wouldn’t budge.
Linglong looked up at little venom, smirking, "Didn’t you say it was for me? Why won’t you give it, feeling stingy?"
"Who said I’m stingy?"
The little venom was most afraid of being called stingy.
Hearing Linglong’s words, she quickly shoved the skewer into Linglong’s hand, urging, "Here, hurry and eat, it’ll taste bad if it gets cold!"
Linglong took the skewer without hesitation, taking a big bite, savoring it with delight.
The little venom couldn’t help but swallow, whispering, "Is it good?"
Linglong’s eyes were full of laughter, teasing her, "Delicious, roasting the hind leg is indeed chewier than the front leg! Taotie truly is an ancestor of the glutton family, it even knows the best parts of its own body!"
The little venom didn’t understand Linglong’s morbid joke.
She was now entirely focused on that skewer of roast meat in Linglong’s hand.
Seeing the little venom almost drooling, Linglong handed the remaining roasted meat to her.
"I’m full, could you help me throw away the rest?"
The little venom clumsily took the skewer.
Hearing this, she was stunned, "Throw it away? That would be such a waste! There’s still so much meat you haven’t eaten!"
Linglong waved her hand dismissively, "I really can’t eat anymore, either throw it away or help me finish it, but don’t mind..."
Before she finished, the little venom quickly said, "I’ll help you finish it!"
With that, she hugged the huge skewer, happily gnawing away.
Linglong: "..."
So used to playing mind games with everyone, she didn’t know how to deal with an honest person.
Linglong thought she had to preserve little venom’s self-respect.
But she didn’t even have that!
To the little venom, self-respect didn’t matter, being full did!
Watching the little venom devour her food with gusto, Linglong suddenly felt intensely envious.
"She’s truly so happy!"
-----------------
"It seems quite happy?"
Zhao Yi held the iron chain, with Taotie tethered to the other end.
With an iron chain around its neck, Taotie bounced happily, finding everything curious as it emerged from the Monument Forest.
Cheerful and incredibly joyful.
Not an ounce of understanding of being a prisoner, let alone the dignity of a Divine Beast.
Leaving the Monument Forest, Taotie led the way.
"His Highness the Crown Prince of the Great Xia Dynasty is here, why don’t you all step aside!"
"Long live His Highness, the Crown Prince!"
Amidst Taotie’s pompous behavior, like a sycophant ordering even a passing wild rabbit for the ninety-ninth time to move aside, Zhao Yi couldn’t take it anymore!
He suddenly yanked the chain, pulling Taotie off balance.
Zhao Yi gritted his teeth, "That’s just an ordinary rabbit, do you think it can understand you telling it to move?"
Zhao Yi already started regretting.
He decided to find an opportunity to ditch this Divine Beast, Taotie, which was more like a mangy dog.
Abandoning a pet might be shameful.
But keeping it would ruin Zhao Yi’s reputation!
Zhao Yi couldn’t even bear to imagine.
Once back in Shengjing City.
Seeing this mangy dog in front of his carriage shouting arbitrarily.
Wouldn’t that be a complete social disaster!
