Chapter 534

Chapter 534: Chapter 263: Pressure from Above
Jiangzhou City, Changling Road, Dafachess Room.
"Old Feng, play a few more rounds. Losing today is no big deal. You’ve won a lot recently, losing a couple of rounds is normal."
A scruffy man came out, reeking of alcohol.
Feng Jianyi was in a bad mood today. He had lost several rounds in a row. Yet, these people were pulling him back for more, clearly up to no good.
Even his drunken mind became clear, so he chose to get off the table early.
"Get lost! Play what? You bunch of rascals, I’ll come back tomorrow with enough money and wipe you all out."
"Hahaha, fine, we’ll be waiting."
Walking on the road, Feng Jianyi felt the air had turned much cooler. He couldn’t tell if it was because he’d lost money or if it had really gotten colder, but the biting chill made him feel increasingly uncomfortable.
Suddenly, a figure appeared at the intersection ahead, standing there alone.
Feng Jianyi was very curious, what was happening?
People around here were becoming fewer, but today on this road, there was only a single pedestrian left. It was very strange.
"Hey, brother, where is this?"
"Say something!"
Feng Jianyi then approached the man, who seemed burly and was wearing a hoodie, standing sideways to him, looking somewhat odd.
But being ignored after asking a question? That was sheer disrespect.
Just as Feng Jianyi was about to curse his family, he suddenly noticed the overhead road sign and immediately understood.
"Damn it, I took the wrong road, damn it..."
After a few violent coughs, Feng Jianyi lit a cigarette, quietly waiting for it to burn out completely.
"Really unlucky, shouldn’t have drunk that lousy alcohol."
"Sigh."
After a sigh, Feng Jianyi turned to leave, but as soon as he turned, he suddenly felt a terrifying pressure descending upon him from above.
Something was wrong, there was danger!
This was an alarm from his instincts.
He quickly turned around only to see the man in the hoodie lunging at him.
Snap—
With just one slap, his neck was clutched.
Strong as an ox, pinning him like a vice, filled with the threat of despair and slaughter.
"Hiss... you, uh, ah..."
No matter how Feng Jianyi screamed, the assailant had no intention of letting go. By now, his vision was starting to blur because the terrifying strength was truly breaking him.
Finally, the mysterious man spoke, his tone hardened.
"You’re right, Feng Jianyi! Indeed, you’re unlucky. You shouldn’t have just avoided drinking, you should’ve died ten years ago."
"Today is the day to pay the price!"
As soon as he said this, his expression turned shocked, as if he had seen a ghost.
Struggling for breath, Feng Jianyi desperately clawed and tugged, hoping to uncover the man’s true face, but only managed to roll up his sleeve in the scuffle—
Revealing hideous scars and numerous other marks, looking rather shocking.
"You—"
Before Feng Jianyi could say another word, a fist came straight at him, followed by endless darkness.
The noise along the entire street subsided, as if a stone had fallen into a river, rippling gently before returning to calm.
Jiangzhou City, Da Chang Restaurant.
In a private room on the top floor, a bald man in a suit smiled as he greeted and backed out from the room.
"Alright, alright, I’ll be right back."
After stepping out of the room, the man took a deep breath.
This was Liang Deng’s fourth drinking engagement over the past few days. Due to work, he had to socialize a lot. Even at this age, one must cautiously navigate social affairs.
"Waiter, bring two more bottles of Remy Martin to the private room, a bottle of Champagne, and two more cases of side dishes. Put it on the tab..."
"Sure, Brother Liang, any other orders?"
"That’s it, you can go now."
After sending off the waiter, Liang Deng let out a burp, then staggered into the bathroom. He splashed water on his face in front of the mirror, trying to clear his head a bit.
But he had to drink this round, his identity and position required it for more profit.
As the lowest-level manager, it’s his only channel.
After washing his face, Liang Deng wobbled into a nearby stall, and after finishing up, while adjusting his clothes, he suddenly heard a clattering sound as if something fell.
He didn’t think much of it at first, but quickly, there was a second noise.
This made him very curious. Could he have encountered a ghost? Or was there something wrong inside?
With the mindset of just taking a look, Liang Deng went in.
Just as he approached, the stall door swung open, and a big hand reached out and grabbed onto his head.
Even though he was bald, with no hair to hold, his forehead was still gripped tightly.
The opponent’s hand seemed as strong as a mountain, enough to instantly sober up Liang Deng, who had a belly full of alcohol.
He thought he was being attacked by a bear!
As he was dragged in, his body slammed heavily against the toilet. Just as he was about to cry out, the man landed a punch squarely on his mouth.
With that, his teeth mixed with blood, flowed down his throat, the pain making him want to cry but having no tears.
This combo made him feel pain from head to toe.
With all his strength, Liang Deng opened his eyes wide but saw only a large, masked man standing in front of him.
