Genius’s Godlike Game Broadcast-Chapter 70 : The Stage is Getting Bigger

Chapter 70

The Stage is Getting Bigger
Under the MetaGamer umbrella, the Elden Soul community and the Elden Soul meta were heating up.
[Minimi Witch Nuna!! I'm dying here!! (999+)]
[Kingdom Knight Order alliance route unlock, is this for real lololol (999+)]
[Gravekeeper lore has been dropped, right? (917)]
[Spoiler) Knight Order Commander: "You too? Yanadu!" (809)]
Facts revealed during Lee Gyeongbok's broadcast started popping up in real-time and quickly shot to the list of most popular posts.
[-Wow lolol Minimi Nuna is so cute]
[-There's a route where Nuna joins? There was such an amazing route?]
[-Damn, but how do you deal with Wraith Golem's changed patterns]
[-Can you unlock the hidden route even with mods? Please......]
[-Now that it's out that Minimi Nuna's got source material, the modder will make it for us!]
[-Look at the hardcore gamers not planning to clear, just thirsting for mods lololol]
[-Huh? Is there really a need to ally with the knight order?]
[-The knight guys are skilled, so it would be convenient to team up]
[-If it's a knight order alliance, do you fight the church?]
[-Nothing's been revealed yet, so I can't even imagine lololol]
[-Ah, I want to watch the broadcast ㅠ]
[-Knew it was the Gravekeeper Knight ㅠㅠ]
[-Where are all those guys who said it was a coincidence now?]
[-The commander's so ruthless, damn, left the Gravekeeper out there and didn't even look for him?]
[-Maybe the Misty Forest is why he got isolated?]
[-Wow... he was faithful to his duty even while isolated?]
[-With this kind of backstory, it's 100% legit]
[-Blondo was a ruined guy too?]
[-Lol the commander was a hardcore gamer too]
[-But why does Nuna know about that?]
[-From is dropping story hints again!]
[-Activating From-brains, go!]
[-Lol, as soon as I finish work, I'm heading straight to King's for a deep read!]
Viewers who, for various reasons, couldn't watch the broadcast left quick comments.
Lee Gyeongbok's broadcast made waves in the community as usual. But a bigger tsunami was coming.
[Here comes a big one!]
[Lolol, this is a legendary match]
[No matter what, I'm watching it live tomorrow lol]
[Duel! Once again, duel!]
[It's duel party time!]
[Purple vs. Eclipse is happening!]
As soon as Purple's broadcast ended, viewers poured into the Elden Soul community. Members who usually just lurked were bewildered by the sudden explosion of posts.
[-What are you saying? Duel?]
[na lol you didn't watch the broadcast]
[na, Purple announced a duel with Eclipse and ended stream lololol]
[na, there's a clip in the post above]
[-Has the duel happened already?]
[na, made a knight order alliance and unlocked Sword's Grave]
[na, since it's another route, it opened earlier!]
[na, the commander guys opened it right away lol]
[na, it's clearly the hardcore gamer's route lololol]
[na for real lol, if it's a facility unlock shortcut, it's totally King-level logic]
As excited people spread the news, even those who hadn't seen the broadcast quickly grasped the situation.
And they, too, couldn't hide their excitement.
[Who do you think will win, Purple or Eclipse?]
[Lol, elden Soul fans, let's vote
If you think Purple will win, upvote
If you think Eclipse will win, downvote]
[-This is for sure a close match lololol]
[na for real lol, after today's broadcast, you know it's close]
[na, gotta upvote those true words^^]
[na, this is how you fish for a popular post lolol]
[-Of course, you have to downvote]
[na, the upvotes must be from newbies, right?]
[na, guess if you started with Elden Soul, that could happen lolol]
[na, to be honest, if you're an old-timer, you'd pick Eclipse]
With the explosive attention, the hot posts list refreshed in an instant.
[If you think Purple will win tomorrow's duel, massive upvote (999+)]
[If you think Eclipse will win tomorrow's duel, massive upvote (999+)]
[If you're a neutral Elden Soul fan just eating popcorn, upvote lololol (999+)]
[If you can't watch tomorrow's broadcast, upvote ㅠ (999+)]
Who would win, Purple or Eclipse? That simple question divided people evenly.
[Wah! I'm an Elden Soul newbie, looked up both streamers since I don't know them]
[The hype is insane but I honestly can't follow what's happening, so I tried to find the most objective info
1. Eclipse
12 years streaming
Started with Dark Ring, completed the entire Elden series
Played only From Studio games for 12 years. Hardcore stuff
Even did swordsmanship training during Dark Ring days, that much of a diehard
Tons of challenge runs
Speed run record
No upgrade clear
No dodge clear
No parry clear
No equipment clear
No heal clear
No level up clear, etc
All of this applies across Dark Ring and the Elden series;;
He's even received official awards
Back-to-back winner of the 'Elden Kingdom Duel Tournament' hosted by From Studio
Both times, it was a round of 128, and it was a world tournament
His 'Knight of Eclipse' character is in Elden Kingdom as a reward
Eclipse is an officially recognized legend by the developers
2. Purple
Less than a month streaming
No experience with VR games before streaming
Officially said he took boxing, and worked at a company before becoming a streamer
Received an offer to be a pro gamer during his school days
Games played before Elden Soul: Bio Crisis, mystic League, gunner Ground
Challenge history?
Not direct, but challenges were created because of Purple;;
Bark 〉 Logan execution challenge
Mystic League 〉 Yami challenge
Gunner Ground 〉 Bullet Pin challenge
Elden Soul 〉 Snap Challenge
No awards yet.
But he's still got some wild feats lol
Bark 〉 saw true ending, devs lowered difficulty after watching Purple's stream
Mystic League 〉 highlighted troll-char Yami, solo backdoor success
Gunner Ground 〉 did an OTP fan meeting? Won a 1:99 match, wrecked NewtonLord and stream snipers in a Genome joint stream
Looking back after writing this, both sides are OP lolol
Took effort, so give me an upvote!]
Amidst the confusion, someone posted a summary of their achievements. Everyone who'd been arguing in separate threads gathered immediately.
[-Upvote for the summary lololol]
[na finally, things make sense now]
[na wow, even with a summary, it's actually kind of complicated]
[na just eat popcorn lolol]
But just because there was a summary didn't mean an answer was clear. Both sides only became more entrenched in their opinions.
[-If you look at it, the answer's obvious lol Eclipse wins]
[na with 12 years on the job, he should win, to be honest lolol]
[na, elder experience really can't be ignored]
[na 12 years vs 1 month? Lololol]
[na Eclipse really is something else, damn lolol]
[-I like Godple too but there's a gap in game type]
[na, Bark and GunG are shooters, and Mystic is fantasy, but Elden Soul is totally different]
[na yeah, exactly! Not trashing, it's just the limit of variety game streamers]
[na for real lol, it's not unjust criticism]
[na, godple's amazing but Eclipse is way too experienced lol]
Those siding with Eclipse touted his experience and expertise. The Purple camp, however, held their own.
[-Come on lol, how does length of time matter lololol]
[na for real lol, isn't it just about how well you play now?]
[na, games aren't some seniority system for god's sake]
[na, it's not like 12 years lets you auto-clear those life-or-death stages in 3 minutes!]
[na, being this good in just a month is even crazier?]
[na, just watching Purple fight Awakened Gravekeeper proves the skills are there already lolol]
[-It's gotta be Purple 100%, newtonLord is a proven legend]
[na exactly! One and only, that's it]
[na lol even NewtonLord brought ten million won for coaching and got help]
[na, how did NewtonLord do against Eclipse?]
[na, Eclipse was probably never stream sniped?]
[na, so Eclipse wasn't even a sniping target?]
[na, not really. NewtonLord only targets prodigies. Never went after grinders like Eclipse]
[na, how do you know so much? HOXY are you from Sagwadan?]
[na, turns out you're actually NewtonLord lolol]
[na, newtonLord caught on the spot]
Purple supporters backed up their side with pure skill and the victory over NewtonLord.
The debate in the comments showed no signs of stopping. In the middle of all this heated discussion—
[Eclipse posted a notice!]
Anyone would have clicked that title. Everyone checked out the post.
It was exactly what the title said.
Eclipse had uploaded a video on Q-tube.
〈Greetings!
I am 'Eclipse'.
Many of you may already know, but I felt I should personally announce this event.
First, my deepest thanks to Sir Purple for gladly accepting such a sudden duel!
Allowing ample time to prepare, too—clear evidence of a knight who understands honor!
I am truly looking forward to this duel.
To my followers, I inform you thus!
The duel will be scheduled at Sir Purple's discretion. This is to return that courtesy, so I hope there are no complaints!
One more request. Until now, I never knew how to contact you, but with this duel now set with Sir Purple, I wish to send a message.〉
In the video, Eclipse, dressed in heavy armor, flowed with words before looking directly into the camera.
〈Wandering Knight, newtonLord!
I hope you will also attend this duel. Though I have heard much about you, I regret never actively searching for you.
I have long wished to test our skills, and I hear you, too, wish to challenge Sir Purple!
I await your favorable reply!〉
The video ended there.
It was a short video, but the reaction was intense. By mentioning NewtonLord directly and requesting his participation, it became even more electrifying.
[-Insane lololol, recruiting NewtonLord on official notice]
[na, that's so Eclipse! Did it so casually!]
[na, "Wandering Knight" what the heck lololol]
[na, that's high-level stuff lololol]
[-If NewtonLord doesn't show, looks cowardly now, right?]
[na that's a yeah moment lol]
[na, feels like Eclipse knew what he was doing lolol]
[-Purple vs. Eclipse vs. Newton lineup is insane lololol]
[na lol no way I'm missing that lol]
[na, insane physical trio, so intense]
[na, this stream cannot fail]
[na, are they a broadcast genius or what!]
As the night deepened, people's anticipation shot through the roof.
* * *
The next day.
Lee Gyeongbok took a seat with his friends at their regular cafe.
It was time for a Team Perfect meeting.
"Hey, man. Check this out."
Choi Byeonghun pulled up a hologram with a look of disbelief.
[Betting Pool]
[PerfectPlay : Eclipse]
[Win – 3.48] [Loss – 1.16]
Lee Gyeongbok's eyes rounded, and Park Juho's glabella furrowed.
"What's that?"
"Illegal gambling."
At Park Juho's answer, Choi Byeonghun gave a wry laugh.
"Someone ed it as a problem. Seriously, these betting addicts. If there's anything to bet on, they'll bet on it."
Lee Gyeongbok's match against Eclipse had become an event on an illegal online gambling site.
Park Juho shook his head.
"Looking at the betting odds, you can guess their intelligence level."
"So more people are betting I'll lose?"
"Well, do you think gamblers think rationally? Since Eclipse has streamed for longer, they probably think he'll be better."
Choi Byeonghun spat out his words and turned off the hologram.
"Clicking their tongues, if they just wanted to have fun, they should stick to Tri point betting."
"Point betting? They have gambling on Tri too?"
"No, it's similar but different. You don't bet money, you bet viewer points."
At Park Juho's explanation, Lee Gyeongbok looked over.
"What are viewer points?"
"Points that accumulate based on watch time. You could call it a sort of fan loyalty metric."
"Oh...... like experience points?"
"You could think of it that way. Viewers can bet those points on wagers set by the streamer."
"It probably won't be a ton for us since the streaming period's short, but I was about to suggest we use it for this duel."
Choi Byeonghun chimed in from the side. Lee Gyeongbok nodded.
"That's good! That'll make viewers even more invested in the stream."
"That's why a lot of other streamers use it too. No reason not to try it this time."
"Seriously, you can tell you're a streaming newbie from this kind of thing. Still, you manage to perform like a streaming genius."
Choi Byeonghun gave a small laugh. Park Juho cleared his throat lightly, regaining everyone's focus.
"Let's get back on track. This duel might end up being bigger than expected."
"I heard Eclipse invited NewtonLord."
Lee Gyeongbok had already heard about what happened in the community.
When NewtonLord came up, Lee Gyeongbok remembered the idol group member from the commercial.
'Come on, no way, right?'
But the thought only lasted a moment.
"No, he really did."
Choi Byeonghun's voice brought his attention back.
Of course, it wasn't like Eclipse acted unilaterally. He notified Lee Gyeongbok in advance.
There wasn't any reason to refuse.
"I already declared that any PVP challengers are welcome, so it doesn't matter."
"Besides, the more attention, the better."
Lee Gyeongbok and Choi Byeonghun didn't think of it as a big deal. But Park Juho looked at the two of them seriously.
"Still, it seems there's even more attention than we expected."
"Why?"
Park Juho pulled up an email at the center of the table.
"MetaGamer contacted us."
At the top of the email was the clear logo of the webzine MetaGamer.
Lee Gyeongbok and Choi Byeonghun couldn't hide their bewilderment.
"Out of nowhere?"
"Huh?"
"Yeah, this duel......."
Park Juho scrolled down the email and pointed at the key section with his finger.
"They want to buy broadcast rights for the duel."
There was no way the press would miss being at the center of attention.
