Genius’s Godlike Game Broadcast-Chapter 78 : Snow Mountain Drake Hunt (3)

Chapter 78

Snow Mountain Drake Hunt (3)
The snow mountain was well-known not only for its danger but also for its scenery. It wasn't easy to appreciate from the lower altitudes, but the higher one climbed, the more the pure white vistas shaped by nature delighted the eyes.
Among all, the snowflakes drifting in the wind gave the impression of stepping into another world.
However, that was only the case when following the proper mountain path.
"Now, can you see? Here comes another gust. Be careful when you go hiking later."
Lee Gyeongbok pressed his body against the wall as he spoke. The snowflakes falling above him were warning signs.
Sure enough—
KWAaaaaaang! An explosion thundered out as fierce winds swept down the mountainside.
― Who would ever hike up here! LOL
― Just seeing snowflakes fall will give me a trauma now
― Got that trauma in the army already LOL
― For real, anyone who served hates snow
-???: Whew, whew, the duty officer will initiate now. Snow clearing operation begins as of this hour.
― Enough with the army stories!
The gust quickly died down.
Just as Lee Gyeongbok tried to use a sorcery again, another round of KWAaaaaang echoed.
― What? Another gust?
― That doesn't sound like just wind.
― Doesn't it seem further away?
― Is it an avalanche or something wow
'This is...?'
Unlike the chat window, Lee Gyeongbok immediately recognized the source of the sound. That was thanks to the keen sense of threat he detected within his sixth sense range.
Soon, he caught sight of a massive shadow circling the mountain within his vision.
― Whoa? Is that the drake?
― King Snow Drake incoming LOL
― Seriously LOL, it's huge
― I was thinking it would look like a wyvern, but this is wild
― It's even bigger than the Wraith Golem, damn
― Is Godple getting attacked now?
The chat window was filled with surprise and worry, but Lee Gyeongbok remained unfazed.
Though he sensed the threat from the drake, he already knew he wasn't its target.
"Looks like it's out hunting."
As he said so, the drake's massive frame dove swiftly down. Its real target was a pack of "snowmen"—enemies Lee Gyeongbok would have fought had he taken the normal mountain path.
A great ape-like creature covered in white fur screamed as it was grabbed by enormous talons. Other snowmen hurled their spears in a panic, but the drake didn't even flinch.
"KIEEEEEEEK!"
As the drake clenched its talons, the captured snowman writhed, emitting a shrill cry. Then, the drake opened its huge mouth and devoured the snowman's upper body in one gulp.
Crimson-black blood splattered onto the white snow.
― What a live Drake mukbang LOL
― Wow... those snowmen are hella strong, but they got crushed
― No joke, snowmen are almost mini-boss-level
― Seriously?
― Yeah, about on the same level as the Gravekeeper
― What! Gravekeeper-tier mobs as regular enemies?
― I told you, elden Soul is a hard game!
― Don't take it lightly just because you watch Godple's broadcast LOL
Once viewers realized Lee Gyeongbok wasn't the drake's target, they felt at ease.
Meanwhile, the snowmen began calling for reinforcements. Packs banded together, roaring angrily and charging the drake.
"Oh...."
Lee Gyeongbok let out a soft exclamation at the rising sense of danger.
The drake's torso swelled briefly, then shrank rapidly. It opened its mouth, and a torrent of fiery breath spewed forth.
When the flames died down, only charred lumps remained.
― Yikes, that's insane
― That breath is nuts, damn
― One-shot kill, Lol
― You want us to beat that thing?
― As a select-type boss, it's supposed to be tough
― Flame Breath vs. Double-Absurdity Breath
― Is this a battle of breaths now? LOL
The drake snorted lightly and soared back into the sky.
"As expected, the monsters here are tougher than the people. I'm looking forward to it."
Lee Gyeongbok smiled as he commented.
― Pure self-confidence ON!
― You're literally looking forward to this after seeing all that—unbelievable!
― But seriously, is it even winnable?
― Right? He didn't even go soul farming with a shortcut yet
― Anyway, godple can do it
― Because he's the #1 sword in Elden, of course
Amidst the divided reactions, Lee Gyeongbok resumed his climb.
Soon after—
He reached his destination: the summit.
The snowy peak resembled a crater. Inside, there was a massive cave that appeared to be the drake's lair.
"The owner isn't home, I see."
― Even the drake ran off when it heard Godple was here
― LOL, scared?
― The mighty Godple can make even drakes flee!
― But how would a drake even hear about Godple? LOL
As Lee Gyeongbok stood puzzled at the entrance, control suddenly slipped from him. His sixth sense blared a warning.
'It's here!'
At the same moment, something crimson-black dropped from the sky onto the snowy plateau.
It was a thoroughly mangled chunk of flesh. Judging by the blood-matted fur, it had been a snowman.
Immediately after, a sharp sonic boom rang out. As the protagonist hurriedly retreated, a massive body landed on top of the spot with a crash.
― Whoa...
― It looks even bigger up close, wow
― The intimidation is real, wow
― And it still looks cool, Lol
― FromSoft always nails creature design!
Its black scales shone like refined metal, splattered with red blood, and its reptilian eyes—glinting yellow—drew the gaze.
The drake seemed unconcerned with the protagonist's presence, devouring the fallen chunk of flesh in one gulp.
"Now I understand why you'd need a shield here."
Perhaps it heard the protagonist's voice, because the drake turned its blood-smeared face that way.
Its double eyelids blinked, vertical pupils narrowing. Then it opened its mouth, bellowing out a roar.
― KROARARARARARA!
― The Snow Mountain Drake is roaring!
― The King Snow Drake is the strongest of all snow mountain mobs!
― It's even stronger than the knight order or Elden bros!
― Anyway, it roared!
― LOL were you waiting for the punchline all along?
― Purple viewers chaining combos now!
― Do younger folks still know that meme?
― I'm 18, and my college friends all know it^^
Unlike the viewers' laid-back chat, the situation changed in an instant.
Suddenly, the protagonist's ears rang, and the entrance he'd used collapsed, blocked by snow. Immediately after, control was restored and combat began.
Despite its bulk, the drake closed the distance in moments. Lee Gyeongbok dodged swiftly with evasive maneuvers.
'No wonder the fortune said "minor misfortune."'
A single strike gouged a scar into the ground. Lee Gyeongbok controlled his breathing and drew his sword.
― Damn, what's with that speed?
― Shouldn't it get nerfed if it becomes a required boss?
― It looks even faster now
― If that even grazes you, you die
― Honestly, even for Godple, this looks hard
Anxiety spread through the chat window.
But Lee Gyeongbok had no time to reassure them. Again, the drake lunged.
'Still, its charging attack is straightforward.'
He narrowly dodged the talons, though the backdraft pushed him away.
But all of that's accounted for—Lee Gyeongbok swung the blade he'd taken from the Corrupted Knight.
A sharp metallic sound rang out as sparks flew. Without resisting the rebound, Lee Gyeongbok quickly made some distance.
"Hm... this is a bit troublesome."
He furrowed his glabella.
After a single exchange, a fissure had already appeared on the blade.
― Of course, it's tough
― The drake's physical defense is no joke
― You're supposed to bring spare weapons for this LOL
― Why didn't anyone tell him?
― You're supposed to learn by dying in Elden Soul, don't you know?
― True, Lol
Veterans were slow to explain after the fact. Lee Gyeongbok glanced at the chat with a light smile.
"For now, I'll go with a temporary workaround."
He chanted an order silently, and his sword glowed red. With sorcery reinforcing it, the durability loss could be prevented.
Meanwhile, the drake was hardly idle. Its torso visibly expanded.
'Dragon Breath...!'
In Lee Gyeongbok's mind, the path of the flames was drawn out. He found the safe zone and launched himself across the ground.
A flash filled his view, followed by searing heat barely missing him.
― He dodged that?
― How did he avoid that!
― That was way too close, wow
― LOL, and he survived
-???: Thought I hit! (But didn't.)
The viewers were amazed, but Lee Gyeongbok didn't stop there. He used sorcery to pull himself toward the drake's foreleg, shortening the gap instantly.
A red arc slashed by like a bolt. There was no metallic sound this time. The overheated sword clearly wounded the drake.
But Lee Gyeongbok wasn't celebrating.
"Hm, this will take too long at this rate."
Against the drake's massive body, the wound was negligible. To prove the point, the drake immediately swiped at him with its talons.
Of course, it missed.
― Wow, he even counterattacked from there LOL
― But seriously, this is a terrible matchup
― Godple is amazing, but this situation is really bad
― Of all things, it's got high physical and fire resistance
― He should probably go farming first...
― Fast reload break?
― Yudahee: Are you really going to lose this time? For real?
― Yudahee still can't give up, Lol
The chat window began to lean toward the expectation of Lee Gyeongbok's defeat. But he was still calm.
It looked hopeless, but his spiritual energy and senses let him see what others could not.
'The answer is targeting the weak point.'
The Snow Mountain Drake's weak point.
His developed sixth sense and spiritual energy had revealed the solution.
Among the countless scales on its gigantic body, one was turned backward.
'So, this is the inverse scale.'
And it was located right beneath the drake's jaw.
Lee Gyeongbok planned how to strike at that weakness while dodging attacks.
"I'll need to focus for a bit."
― No-mic, hardcore gamer mode!
― What's he implying?
― Will focusing make a difference...
― He means he'll brute-force with willpower, Lol
― I bet it takes four hours to clear LOL
― I'll be back when the drake's dead
Some remained apathetic, not knowing Lee Gyeongbok well.
― Wait, is there really a way to win in this situation?
― If Godple says he's focusing? That means something's up LOL
― Really, you can always tell who's new
― The perfect focus mode?
― What's perfect focus, Lol
― Don't you know he's never failed when going perfect focus mode!
-(StampCon)(StampCon) in advance
Longtime viewers expected a different outcome. The chat heated up, though Lee Gyeongbok couldn't know this.
'Open the path to the inverse scale.'
Spiritual energy and senses responded to his resolve. Time seemed to slow as his thinking sped up.
The swirling snow mountain winds, the drake's movement route, the trajectory of its coming fire breath—
His mind overflowed with the information amassed by his sixth sense.
Perhaps because the area was wide open, multiple routes came to mind. But those options rapidly dwindled.
Finally, only one route remained.
'I see it.'
Lee Gyeongbok's eyes sharpened. He sprinted along the imagined path in his mind.
As he closed in, the drake's talon lashed down. With a flash of red, the talon was deflected to the side.
― Talon parry!?
― Whoa, perfect focus mode is crazy
― But it's still hopeless
― For real, is one more scratch going to change anything?
As Lee Gyeongbok reached beneath the jaw, the drake's pupils dilated. It flapped its wings, putting distance between them.
Instinctively protecting its weak point. Not stopping there, its torso swelled again.
― Fire press incoming!
― Dodge!!! Into the corner!!!
― LOL, stop with the ominous sound cues
― Still, I feel like something's happening?
― Yeah, the drake feels cornered now
The atmosphere in the chat began to change.
Just then,
An unforeseen situation unfolded for viewers.
As the drake opened its mouth to spew fire, an explosion thundered and the snow mountain's storm surged in.
Thus, the flames were compressed by the storm far more than usual.
'Now...!'
Lee Gyeongbok didn't miss the chance. He reached out toward the incoming barrage of flames.
Invisible wind wrapped around the concentrated fire. The jet twisted into a vortex right in front of the drake.
Startled, the drake pulled its head back.
That was its fatal mistake.
"Got you."
A calm one-liner, as a crimson arc swept upward. It landed squarely on the drake's inverse scale.
Normally, the sword should have bounced off, but this time it pierced the scale completely.
Yellow eyes rolled in shock. The vertical pupils went slack as the eyelids drooped shut.
Then, the drake's massive body crashed down with a hefty thud.
― Uh...?
― What?
― Whoa?
The chat, which had been racing, suddenly slowed. No one had really expected the drake to be slain.
But what no one expected had come true.
