Genius’s Godlike Game Broadcast-Chapter 87 : Elden's Top Sword, Next (3)

Chapter 87

Elden's Top Sword, Next (3)
An unprecedented final boss fight.
However, it didn't begin right away. It was because a cutscene began before the final boss fight.
"This is......"
"This is the audience chamber where the Decider resides."
A massive door opened and the protagonist entered. A space even larger than the sparring arena in the knight order headquarters came into view.
Though it was called the audience chamber, the interior wasn't resplendent. There wasn't a single flashy decoration, and the floor, made of silvery metal, instead invoked a desolate and cold sensation.
If not for the crimson carpet down the center and the iron throne at its end, no one would have guessed this was an audience chamber.
"So, it wasn't as vast as I thought."
The protagonist spoke as he looked towards the throne. A shadow fell from the sunlight streaming through a window that took up half of the wall behind the throne.
But its size was not that of a normal human.
"Wow, is that Aiden?"
Lee Gyeongbok couldn't hide his amazement. Nor could the viewers.
― Whoa... why is he so huge, lol
― Huh? Was Aiden a giant all along?
― OMG LOL
― The final boss has to be huge for it to feel right!
― How can he be bigger than a drake, Lol
― Ah, so he's just hibernating, turns out
― Hibernating, you say, Lol
Upon the throne sat a giant clad in armor. Yet, despite two people entering, he didn't move a muscle.
"Decider, it's me. Your daughter, alicia, has come."
As the protagonist stepped forward, alicia spoke in a wistful voice. Even though she didn't raise her voice, it felt like her words filled the entire audience chamber.
"Oh......"
Lee Gyeongbok exhaled another small exclamation. Inside Aiden's armor, golden light began to slowly spread.
With that, aiden awakened.
"...... Alicia."
A deep, grave voice resonated through the air.
As if in answer to that vibration, golden aura billowed between the shadows of his concealed helm.
― Damn, that's awesome
― So imposing, Lol
― From is great at the grotesque, but even better at this kind of grandeur
― I love that slightly tattered cloak, Lol
― Yeah LOL the vibe is immaculate
― The king of a ruined nation is always right
The viewers were thrilled, but the mood in the cutscene was intense.
Alicia leapt off the protagonist's shoulder and dashed to Aiden.
"What in the world happened to you? Are you all ri—"
"Enough."
At Aiden's word, alicia stopped in her tracks.
"The rune of exile grows faint. Has that much time truly passed..."
― What's this?
― He exiled his own daughter?
― What is he talking about, this was already explained
― Yeah, he banished her because she might become the next Decider!
― Focus up, people!
― So many legendary moments, it's hard to keep track!
At Aiden's words, alicia forced herself to speak.
"That's right. Decider, the humans are suffering. It's time to break the silence!"
"Humans are suffering, you say..."
Aiden shrugged his shoulders.
Suddenly, an ear-splitting laugh erupted. The protagonist and Alicia hastily clamped their hands over their ears.
"That is not right. My silence is for the sake of humankind."
"What do you...? Ah!"
Alicia couldn't finish her sentence. When Aiden stretched out his hand, a semi-transparent sphere trapped her inside.
"Alicia!"
The protagonist ran in surprise, but the sphere containing Alicia immediately returned to Aiden's hand.
― Overprotective parent alert!
― Aiden: You're grounded!
― Lost his gravitas with a single line, Lol
― Call King Eun-young teacher, stat!
― Why is the teacher showing up here, Lol
― Everyone always trying to make jokes, Lol
― Stop harassing our nuna!
A startled Alicia said something, but no sound escaped her mouth.
"You, the broken one. Have you come seeking the Elden Soul?"
Aiden's gaze soon landed on the protagonist. With a firm expression, the protagonist gripped his sword.
"I take it you won't tell me so easily."
"Not to you, nor to anyone else."
His words drew out slowly.
At that moment, Lee Gyeongbok felt control returning to him.
"I do not permit it."
With those final words, the cutscene ended. At the same time, ten spirits were summoned.
"What the...!"
"This wasn't in the plan?"
The bewildered spirits made the viewers laugh.
― Welcome! First time teaming up with Aiden?
― Crazy LOL, seeing this firsthand is wild
― Technically, it's not a team-up, it's a three-way battle, Lol
― Spirits vs Aiden vs Purple, what is this
― Purple strategist's three-way divided world plan!
― Purple strategist, you say, Lol
Meanwhile, the leader shouted.
"Quickly, subdue Purple first!"
Snapping to their senses, the spirits moved swiftly to surround Lee Gyeongbok.
"C'mon, I'm not going to fall for the same move twice."
But even that brief moment was enough for Lee Gyeongbok. He targeted the leader first.
"Where do you think you're going!"
"I'll cover the right!"
"Been enjoying your broadcast!"
But the spirits wouldn't let him through easily. Three of them blocked his path at once.
First, Lee Gyeongbok had to fend off their incoming attacks.
― Wow, they really are hardcore gamers
― Been enjoying your broadcast,"
LOL
― LOL stream sniping and being a fan are different things!
― This level of stream sniping is on another level
― Not intimidated by a 3:1
― Because of Dragon Ascent's Stem, he's worth more than a whole player, Lol
― How many people is he carrying by himself!
― As expected, godple!
The other spirits scrambled, but Lee Gyeongbok's sword never stopped.
"Uwaaah...!"
With a single scream, one spirit turned into a crystal of light and vanished. Lee Gyeongbok was about to pressure the others, but then sensed a chilling presence and swiftly widened the gap.
"Decide. 'Death' approaches."
With that, aiden's voice rang out. At that word, the spirits ceased their pursuit.
"Pattern 1 incoming!"
"Dodge it!"
As they shouted, red-black circular runes appeared all over the audience chamber.
"Must be an instant kill area."
Aiden's first attack pattern, 'Death'.
Lee Gyeongbok quickly figured it out, the threat from the runes stabbing into his mind.
― Instant kill? Just death? -Yeah, you touch it, you die
― Like, what is this balance!
― This is true FromSoft final boss
― Crazy, if the stream snipers secure safe zones ahead of time, it's over!
― Why not just hit Aiden right away?
― You can't damage Aiden until you endure all the patterns, Lol
― How do you beat this!
― Spoiler) Godple does it
Viewers were stunned by the difficulty. Even the most hardcore spirits were busy dodging the expanding area.
But Lee Gyeongbok didn't seem at all fazed.
"Hm, spreading out like this makes it so much easier to deal with you."
At his words, chat filled with question marks. He grabbed a spirit hiding in the safe zone using Dragon Ascent's Stem.
"Wha—!"
"Here we go!"
Of course, the spirit tried to avoid being pulled into the instant-death area. Lee Gyeongbok grinned brightly and charged in.
"No, wait! If you do this, we'll both die!"
Even the safe zone wasn't safe—since it kept shrinking, a misstep meant death.
Two of them, standing in that tight space.
It wouldn't have mattered if they were on the same side, but they weren't.
"Nope. I won't die."
With a sly grin, Lee Gyeongbok pressured his opponent.
― LMAO, Purple's confidence is insane
― One-plank bridge meta?
― At this point, you have to feel bad for the stream sniper
― Yeah, nowhere to run lol
― Truly a role model for embarrassing hardcore gamers...
The opponent scrambled to defend under Lee Gyeongbok's assault, but it didn't take long for victory to be decided.
"Uwaa...!"
The moment their blades clashed, it was as if drawn by a magnet. The swordplay learned from Eclipse proved highly effective.
He wasn't satisfied with just that—he looked for his next prey.
"Magic, use your magic to intercept him!"
The flustered leader shouted.
Nobody expected anyone to act so recklessly under such dangerous circumstances.
Several spirits fired various projectiles, from ice and fire to lightning.
"Seems like people don't really use lead shots in Elden Soul?"
But it didn't work on Lee Gyeongbok. He'd already read their trajectories, so none could hit him.
― Lol, who uses lead shots in Elden Soul?
― Hyung! This isn't Gunner Ground!
― Lol, lived my whole life and never thought I'd hear someone complain about lead shots in Elden Soul
― That skill is insane, Lol
― Thought it'd be a disaster 1:11, but LOL
― The only thing that got destroyed was the viewers' predictions
― Ah, the dangerous side is actually the "11"
The viewers couldn't help but exclaim at the sight of him dodging every attack.
Until, finally, the shrinking death zone receded and the first pattern ended.
"Oh my god..."
"Four of them died?"
Lee Gyeongbok had invaded the tiny safe zone and taken out two more. Only six spirits remained.
At least the leader survived—that was some small mercy.
"Get ready for pattern 2! Let's settle it then!"
Aiden had more than one attack pattern. And as infamous as the Elden series was, there was no rest between patterns.
"Fools. You reject a peaceful death."
Aiden's voice echoed again. He was still unmoved from the throne.
"Those like you are replaceable at any time. Now, be silent."
As soon as Aiden's words finished, a mirror shot up in front of Lee Gyeongbok and the spirits.
"Aha."
Sensing the threat, Lee Gyeongbok scoffed. The reflection in the mirror sprang out and instantly struck with a sword.
"A pattern that induces a melee, huh?"
Having read the ambush, Lee Gyeongbok dodged lightly and spoke.
― Huh?
― What? Is it a clone? -Two Elden's Top Swords!?
― No, just the same equipment, controlled by AI
― That's fine, then
― A melee? Even better!
― If you play this straight, it's super tough, but a three-way brawl is a huge advantage
Without hesitation, Lee Gyeongbok cut down his mirror image. With a shattering sound, its form scattered like glass.
Looking around, he saw the spirits and mirror images locked in combat.
"Huh? They're using hand signals? Why not just talk?"
Apparently, to distinguish friend from foe, they'd preset hand signals. Lee Gyeongbok found it curious.
― Again with the naughty jokes!
― Lol, don't act like a newbie!
― But he IS a newbie!
― Yeah, our Godple is still on a first playthrough!
― Their voices don't come out in-game anyway, Lol
― Your mic is on because you're streaming, Lol
― Among Aiden's lines, "replaceable" and "silence" are the keywords
Lee Gyeongbok smiled brightly at the chat.
"Oh, really? Then I'll just have to kill them."
― He's back! The killer's smile!
― Lol, this pattern is usually so boiled sweet potato
― Yeah, it's where trolling always happens
― It's really infuriating when you get team-killed here, Lol
― That's exactly what FromSoft wants?
― But now, it's actually better!
― Elden Warriors all loaded up!
He threw himself into the melee. Everyone besides himself was an enemy—he had nothing to worry about. Blue flames blazed as he incinerated the spirits around him.
A true rampage.
Whether real or fake, no one could withstand his assault.
"All your flailing is meaningless."
Again Aiden's voice rang out, and with it, the broken mirror shards began to melt away.
"All of the spirits...!"
"Oh, what do we do?"
Maybe they broke out of their silence, since the surviving spirits spoke. Only three spirits survived the brawl—and they were all hardcore veterans with many clear runs under their belts. The leader spoke in a grim voice.
"This... we can't win."
Their experience let them figure it out quickly. The leader bowed to Lee Gyeongbok.
"That was beyond imagination. I apologize again for disrupting your broadcast."
― Why is the stream sniper so polite, Lol
― So what were all those other snipers?
― Seeing such a courteous sniper after only seeing losers is refreshing, Lol
― This kind of sniping... isn't so bad?
― But still, sniping is kinda messed up
The viewers thought the sniping was finally over. But the spirits' next actions exceeded everyone's expectations.
"Please, show a skill that none can imitate."
With those words, the leader committed suicide. As Lee Gyeongbok stared wide-eyed, the other two spirits also delivered short exclamations and followed suit.
― What's this? What just happened? -Did they commit seppuku?
― LOL, what is this, a samurai story?
― Wow, they actually did it
― They gave up the three-way and turned it into a real 1:11
― Counting the clones, it became 1:22, Lol
― So they actually can't die now?
― Yep, undying
― Now it's a 1v21 with Aiden lurking
― This is the worst possible final boss scenario
― Was this even meant to be cleared?
― From: Try again, please
― Lol, sounds right, usually it's a retry
The chat went wild at the turn of events. But Lee Gyeongbok only smiled.
But now, for a slightly different reason.
'Wow, what is this?'
The revived spirits weren't a problem. The threat they posed felt like child's play compared to what he now sensed crawling over his entire body.
A suffocating dread pressed down on him, and its source was obvious.
"This time... I might really fail."
A warning on a level he'd never experienced while gaming now filled his mind.
― Huh?
― Wow, this is the first time I've seen Godple say that
― LOL how long has he streamed for again
― Yeah, sounds like he's been doing it for five years
― Confidence, gone?
― I believe! I believe in Purple!
― Perfect punch! Perfect punch! Perfect punch!
― One two three! Purple, fighting!
The viewers responded to his never-before-seen hesitation with a mix of disbelief and support.
"O broken one."
The air rang and the floor trembled. The giant Aiden, who had never moved until now, rose from his throne. He gripped the towering pillar beside him with one enormous hand.
No, that wasn't a pillar—it was a greatsword.
-???????
― Wait, that wasn't a pillar?
― Insane, Lol, that's a sword?
― Is that even a sword?!
― Guts sensei...!
― No way! That's insane!
― Look at the babies being shocked
― But for real, anyone would be shocked, Lol
The chat was instantly paralyzed by shock.
Aiden looked down upon Lee Gyeongbok and finished his words.
"Even the last remaining fragment of your soul shall be broken!"
With that line, a golden aura erupted from Aiden's body, filling the sight like staring straight into the sun.
― Runnnnnnnnnn!
― Roll! Roll now!
― Something big is coming!
― Is this finally it?
The experienced viewers frantically typed in chat. Lee Gyeongbok knew why.
'That's truly insane.'
Though his vision was blocked by light, since he'd focused the moment he sensed Aiden's threat, he could feel it.
Time seemed to slow as he watched the greatsword come crashing down toward him.
Anyone else in this situation would barely be able to breathe—but Lee Gyeongbok was different.
'This is fun!'
What filled his heart was thrill. The rush, together with the chill, gripped his heart.
Lee Gyeongbok didn't dodge. Instead, he focused even more deeply, and lifted his sword.
As the light faded bit by bit, Lee Gyeongbok's figure became visible to the viewers.
-???????
― He dodged it?
― Parry, maybe?
― No, it's un-parryable!
― It's unguardable!
― You can only roll through it
― That's it, it's over
Aiden's attack couldn't be parried or guarded against in the system. As that was discussed in chat, the greatsword and the Dragon Scale sword clashed.
With a thunderous crash, the spirits nearby were knocked to the ground.
― No-death record broken, sigh
― If you don't know, you die
― Just retry from here!
― Honestly, with a legendary run like this, a single death is fair
Everyone assumed Lee Gyeongbok had died. But the screen didn't go dark.
― Huh...?
― Yudahee isn't showing up?
― Really?
― He's alive?
Even the signature "You Died" message of the Elden series didn't appear.
As the dust settled, the giant chasm the greatsword had gouged out became clear.
And next to it stood Lee Gyeongbok, alive.
― He lived? Seriously?
― How the hell did he survive!
― You can't parry or guard it!
― How is this possible?
― Another Perfect Bug, Lol
― From: This is scary...
Viewers were thrilled by his survival, but their curiosity was stronger. How was he still alive?
Astonishingly.
"Did you deflect my blade?"
It was Aiden himself who answered. Chat was, again, gripped by shock.
― Deflect? That pillar?
― That's possible?
-(Kemalcon)(Kemalcon)(Kemalcon)
― This is an actual line?
― Wow, from even added a line in case someone did this, Lol
― Realization: If you can't parry or guard, just deflect
― It's that simple, Lol
Meanwhile, Lee Gyeongbok widened the gap and caught his breath.
"Wow, that was close. If it weren't for the swordsmanship I learned from Eclipse and the Dragon Scale sword, I would've failed."
A statement confirming Aiden's words. The chat's tone shifted immediately.
― He really did deflect it? Not a bug?
― LOL, it's true, if it weren't the Dragon Scale sword, any other weapon would've shattered
― Dude, Eclipse taught you swordsmanship for fighting people!
― Giants are people too!
― Isn't that giant discrimination?
― Doesn't 'against people' mean 'against big people'? LOL
― Not "against people" but "for big people,"
LOL
― Eclipse: What?
― Damn, this is hilarious, seriously
Viewers quickly returned to their exclamations, relieved he'd survived.
― Today, godple's reason for being Elden's Top Sword became clear
― The snipers got their wish, Lol
― He really achieved something no one else can
― Let's see anyone try to copy this, Lol
― From now on, "Purple is God" is standard~
― Not a hardcore gamer, he's just Elden's Top Sword, Lol
An achievement no one could imitate.
Accordingly, Lee Gyeongbok's title changed as well.
― At this point, "Elden's Top Sword" isn't good enough
― Yep, now "Elden's Only Sword" is more like it
― LOL, elden's Only Sword!
― Elden's Only Sword! That's got a ring to it
― Only Sword! Only Sword! Only Sword! Only Sword!
Incomparable to anyone else.
Beyond the best (第一), to the only (有一).
This was the moment Lee Gyeongbok became "Elden's Only Sword."
