Chapter 506: Chapter 260 The Undead’s Legion, greatly enhanced! (Three in One, 3/5)_3
[Continuation]: If your shield is broken or dispelled, you immediately regain an identical shield. (This effect cannot be triggered consecutively.)
Back in the dungeon, the shield Chen Mo had applied to the Rebel Army was dispelled by the Imperial Army. This rendered the shield effect completely useless during the battle between the two teams. However, with the [Continuation] perk, even if the shield were dispelled, it would be instantly replaced with an identical one, which would be invaluable.
After all, skills that dispel shields typically don’t have short cooldowns. After dispelling the first shield, the opponent wouldn’t easily have the means to dispel the second one that’s applied.
Chen Mo primarily chose this ability for targets he needed to protect when he wasn’t nearby. If he were nearby, even if a unit’s shield broke, his impressive 90% cooldown reduction would allow him to replace it quickly, so it wouldn’t be a major issue.
Of course, the perk was extremely useful even when Chen Mo was nearby. Shields dealt damage upon breaking. If an opponent broke them consecutively, they would explode twice. The shield’s rupture damage was already high, so triggering it twice in a row was very satisfying.
[Backtrack Shield·Black]
Profession: Skeleton Mage
Level Requirement: Level 10
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Effect: Consumes at least 100 Energy to apply a shield to all friendly units within a ’Class Star Level × 200 meters’ radius. The shield has ’2 × (60 + Class Star Level) × Energy consumed’ shield points, can resist any form of damage, and lasts indefinitely.
Any unit inflicting damage on units protected by these shields grants the shielded units [Frenzy], increasing their attack speed by 100%, and triggers [Lightning Chain Retaliation]. The retaliation damage is equal to ’your Magic Attack’ and inflicts fixed damage equal to ’the shield’s original maximum shield points’ to the unit that ultimately breaks the shield.
If the shield is broken or dispelled, another shield can be reapplied. (This effect can only occur once per cast.)
Chosen Effects: Electrify, True, Mutual Destruction, Large Amount, Frenzy, Continuation
Now that the shield’s quality was upgraded, its range and thickness were further enhanced. With Chen Mo applying it, the shield’s durability could reach into the hundreds of millions, making it nearly unbreakable for ordinary enemies.
He was quite satisfied with this perk.
After dealing with the shield, he took out all the god-grade materials and began the synthesis of the Skeleton Summoning Skill.
As he tossed all the god-grade materials into the synthesis interface, it underwent a dramatic change. Unusual lights flickered for a few seconds before dissipating, revealing a gold-grade Skill Book before Chen Mo. The effect selection prompt quickly appeared.
After reaching gold-grade, future upgrades became very difficult. Therefore, Chen Mo was much more cautious when choosing perks.
Chen Mo wasn’t satisfied with the first ten options, so he refreshed them. The second and third sets of options were also unsuitable. Checking the effects of ten perks each time was tiring, and Chen Mo ended up discarding dozens more.
It wasn’t until the ninth refresh that Chen Mo finally saw a perk with excellent effects!
[Symbiosis]: When a summoned creature with this perk is injured, the damage taken is distributed among all summoned creatures that also possess this perk.
This perk is just like [Shared Fate]! Doesn’t this mean that whether an enemy attacks me or my Skeleton Monsters, the damage will be distributed among all Skeleton Monsters with this perk? If I have a million Skeleton Monsters, each would only take one-millionth of the original damage. If I have ten million, it would be one ten-millionth? What an insanely effective damage reduction!
The mere thought of it thrilled Chen Mo.
It was as if all his Skeleton Monsters now possessed an incredible damage reduction capability.
To defeat them, one would have to wipe them all out simultaneously; otherwise, they would be impossible to handle.
Chen Mo was very satisfied with this perk. Furthermore, once the Skeleton Summoning Skill reached gold-grade, the skill itself underwent a huge transformation.
[The Undead’s Legion·Gold]
Profession: Skeleton Mage
Cooldown: 5 seconds
Effect: Consumes 100 Energy to summon ’Level × Class Star Level × 1,000’ permanent Skeleton Monsters. (You can specify various low-tier professions for the Skeleton Monsters, and they will be equipped with corresponding low-tier phantom weapons and skills.)
The Skeleton Monsters’ attributes are linked to your Wisdom and Spirit: ’Life = Spirit × 10, Attack Power = Wisdom × 3’. They also receive a boost to their All Attributes equal to ’your Class Star Level × 50%’.
Features: Bomb, Revival, Corpse Poison, Rally, Sacred, Unity, Continuation, Symbiosis
Once the skill reached gold-grade, its name became fixed as [The Undead’s Legion], regardless of the chosen perks.
The [The Undead’s Legion] skill was now extremely powerful.
The quantity calculation formula now also factored in his level. At Chen Mo’s current level and Class Star Level, he could summon over 520,000 Skeleton Monsters.
Furthermore, if combined with the Undead Rally skill effect from [Dominator of the Undead], the results would be truly heaven-defying.
At his current level, Chen Mo had a 1-in-700 chance (approximately 0.14%) of summoning 367,500,000 Skeleton Monsters. Such a terrifying number—it was truly a sea of the undead.
