Chapter 520

Chapter 520: Chapter 266: Excellent Returns! (Two in One) _2
Its entire body was enveloped in frost, emitting a penetrating chill.
Through the special senses laced throughout its lair, it noticed Chen Mo and Yusheng Liuyin’s entrance. The Ice Giant Beast let out a ferocious roar, its sound as piercingly cold as the winter wind, reverberating throughout the entire lair.
It opened its massive mouth, spewing out a cold breath that formed a dazzlingly radiant frost ray.
The frost ray instantly froze everything around, layering the lair’s floor and walls with an even thicker coat of ice.
"It’s really cold in this darn place."
An icy environment was more unbearable than sweltering heat. Considering its incessant roaring, Chen Mo was genuinely worried that the ice cave would collapse.
He immediately decided to end this quickly. After assessing its abilities, he ordered the Skeleton Monster to kill it instantly.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
As countless arrows flew out, the Frost Beast, which had just given Chen Mo and Yusheng Liuyin a taste of its power through its roars, was killed instantly, before it even had a chance to launch an attack on them.
Yusheng Liuyin was at a loss for words as she watched from the side.
She had teamed up with others before, and although killing a BOSS of this level posed no real threat, she had never killed one so quickly or easily.
This isn’t killing a BOSS; this is bullying and slaughter!
she thought.
An instant kill upon meeting it. The BOSS couldn’t even last a second!
This was a super BOSS with the strength of a third-transition level 80, yet it was swiftly killed by someone at first-transition level 40.
Yusheng Liuyin finally understood what was meant by "comparisons are odious."
Compared to this junior, my third-transition feels so futile,
she mused.
[The Heavenly Path’s Hint: You have successfully killed the Frost Beast Lei Enszhuo, increasing the current instance settlement rewards by 100%. Frost Beast Lei Enszhuo is a Legendary creature and contained many legendary materials. You are now temporarily granted the "Top-Notch collecting technique." Please gather to your heart’s content!]
"Time to harvest!"
After slaying the Frost Beast, Chen Mo cheerfully gestured to Yusheng Liuyin to start gathering materials.
In the meantime, Chen Mo stashed the Frost Beast’s Special Undead into his Special Space for the Undead.
This beast possessed good area-of-effect freezing Skills, which were quite potent control abilities. Chen Mo was fond of such functional Skills.
The Frost Beast was even larger than the previous Fire Dragon, so the two of them spent quite some time harvesting it.
However, they harvested fewer legendary materials than from the Fire Dragon.
But Yusheng Liuyin said with a smile, "This Legendary creature is quite valuable! We’ve gathered materials worth nearly 1,500 Eternal Gold Coins from it."
"That much?"
"These Legendary creatures are rare because they can only be found in extremely cold environments. Dragons are different; they can survive in many environments. Sometimes you can even encounter them on a mountain peak in any SS level difficulty dungeon. Naturally, the more common they are, the lower their price."
"I see."
Chen Mo nodded. That made sense.
Having gained another 750 Eternal Gold Coins, it felt quite satisfying to have earned over a thousand Eternal Gold Coins in such a short time in the dungeon.
Moreover, legendary materials were different from other materials; there was no need to worry about selling them due to high demand.
He could sell them directly to the Academy Alliance Headquarters.
These materials were in great demand.
Unlike Chen Mo, when challenging a dungeon, others usually needed an ample supply of high-level medicines and high-level tools to ensure safety.
Legendary materials are the primary ingredients for most high-level medicines and tools, so the demand is naturally very high.
After all, these items are consumables and are used up quickly.
"Junior Brother Chen Mo, you should invite me to dungeon raids more often in the future. It’s so relaxing to go with you," Yusheng Liuyin said with a smile. "I’ll cover all your academic credits."
"Well, if I can get academic credits for free, then that’s great. I’ll come to you, Senior sister, when I’m short on Experience," Chen Mo joked with a smile.
"That’s a deal, pinky promise," Yusheng Liuyin said, elegantly extending her slender finger. Her pinky was as delicate and smooth as white jade, and her movements were light and elegant, exuding a gentle aura.
Chen Mo smiled and gently extended his own finger to touch Yusheng Liuyin’s, their fingers gently entwining.
The moment their fingers hooked, Yusheng Liuyin began to recite a solemn pledge unique to her homeland.
Seeing this, Chen Mo laughed and said, "Does it have to be that serious?"
Yusheng Liuyin playfully stuck out her tongue and said, "Just joking, it never really works anyway."
Chen Mo shook his head with a smile and then headed straight for the third confirmed Legendary BOSS’s lair—the Lair of The Broken King.
The lairs of the previous two BOSSes were relatively straightforward, so Chen Mo was quite curious about what kind of lair this new BOSS would inhabit.
Chen Mo and Yusheng Liuyin flew out of the ice cave and turned to enter the Lair of The Broken King.
The lair was dark, forcing them to rely solely on their perception abilities to navigate.
The walls of the cave were covered in cracks and fractures, and the entire cave exuded an aura of disarray and collapse.
Various Space-Time Rifts could be seen on the walls and floor of the cave.
These rifts emanated waves of distorted Energy, sometimes flickering with a faint blue light, and at other times emitting terrifying tearing sounds.
"Space-Time Rifts? We need to be careful. Even high defensive power won’t protect against instant death if we touch one," Yusheng Liuyin warned, having sensed the surrounding Space-Time Rifts.
Chen Mo nodded. He had previously studied the danger posed by these Space-Time Rifts. Their danger was incomparable to regular attacks; high defensive power and health points were insufficient to withstand them. One would need to have reached at least the fifth-transition and mastered some degree of Spatial Force to avoid them.
Of course, there were ways to deal with them before the fifth-transition, but that required possessing specific high-end abilities.
However, neither Chen Mo nor Yusheng Liuyin possessed such abilities at this point.
Having discovered these Space-Time Rifts, the pair carefully navigated between them, remaining constantly on guard.
The Space-Time Rifts were a clear sign of danger within the cave. Anyone who carelessly touched them could be torn apart and swallowed by the tremendous Spatial Force in an instant. Once that happened, even their corpses might not be recovered.
For those capable of resurrection, it was slightly better. If a Space-Time Rift devoured them, they could resurrect after being transported through it, thus temporarily escaping the immediate peril.
A chaotic aura emanated from the rifts, inspiring fear. Chen Mo and Yusheng Liuyin sensed the Energy fluctuations from the rifts, understanding the immense danger and uncertainty they posed.
They carefully avoided these Space-Time Rifts, ever vigilant for any sudden incidents they might cause.
Compared to the previous two lairs, the environment of this cave was clearly more dangerous. The pair were Flying through it, the atmosphere tense. They moved cautiously with each advance, lest they fall into the engulfing rifts.
Soon, they reached the depths of the cave, where The Broken King resided.
They gazed into the darkness ahead, where a huge and terrifying figure gradually materialized.
The Broken King was large and imposing, its body appearing to be composed of shattered rocks and twisting Energy. It loomed in darkness, flickering with a deep purple light, its devil-like wings stirring up chaotic Energy.
Its skin displayed a shattered pattern, as if eroded by endless time and power. Its fiery red eyes revealed no mercy or coldness, resembling those of a devil from the abyss.
Sharp, blade-like tentacles extended from The Broken King’s head, radiating dark Energy. Its sharp claws were sturdy and strong, capable of tearing mountains and pulverizing land.
Every breath The Broken King took was accompanied by a surge of terrifying Energy.
Chen Mo sensed that all its Skills were chaos-type, and it possessed virtually no defensive abilities, indicating it was a purely offensive BOSS.
There’s no point in trying to subdue this type of BOSS,
Chen Mo felt slightly disappointed.
I had initially thought I might encounter a BOSS in this environment that could create Space-Time Rifts, which would have been somewhat useful.
