Chapter 526: Chapter 269: Light of Divine Source! (Four in One) _2
At that moment, the bird statue opened its purple beak, emitting a resounding cry that seemed to originate from the depths of the Universe. The cry was as deafening as thunder, unleashing a powerful sonic shockwave. This shockwave’s force was extraordinarily fierce, making the air within the shrine seem to twist. Nearby Skeleton Monsters were struck by this force, their bodies instantly shattering as if hit by a giant hammer, bones and dust scattering everywhere.
Simultaneously, the radiant web of light contracted towards all the Skeleton Monsters in the shrine, accompanying the bird statue’s cry. Their skeletal bodies were tightly ensnared by the web of light. As it shrank, all the Skeleton Monsters crackled and then, in the next moment, exploded into countless dust particles, dispersing with the wind.
After all the attacks ceased, the shrine fell silent once more. The bird statue’s red glow gradually faded, and it returned to its previous inanimate state, as if everything that had just transpired was merely an illusion.
As expected, when the bird statue used Energy to attack the Skeleton Monsters this time, a faint tremor once again ran through the shrine. It was as if traces of Energy were flowing along a specific path.
Outside the shrine, Chen Mo stood his ground, recalling the recent changes within. Unfortunately, he hadn’t captured any noticeable differences this time, which prompted him to try again.
Next, Chen Mo repeatedly dispatched hordes of Skeleton Monsters inside. He spent a great deal of time observing different spots within the shrine, attempting to find a structure or device related to Energy transfer.
Finally, through careful observation, he noticed that an area of the mural within the shrine differed from the rest. This section of the mural emanated a faint Energy fluctuation, synchronized with the frequency and rhythm of the ground tremors.
Upon sending Skeleton Monsters inside again, Chen Mo immediately focused his attention on this mural. He observed it closely and discovered it was composed of many tiny lines and patterns.
When he commanded the Skeleton Monsters to touch the statue and trigger its attack again, Chen Mo found these lines would vibrate oddly. When close, he could feel a subtle Energy flow.
Clearly, something’s amiss!
Chen Mo immediately began to study the arrangement and connections of these lines. He believed these lines might be part of an Energy pathway, and the mural itself could be a trigger or control device. He commanded the Skeleton Monsters to trace the lines with their fingers, attempting to find potential connection points and intersections.
After some exploration, he suddenly felt a faint flow of Energy. He noticed that when the Skeleton Monsters pressed specific intersections of the lines, the Energy flow became more distinct.
Chen Mo was thrilled. He realized this mural was part of the Energy transfer pathway! By pressing the correct lines and intersections, he successfully activated the pathway, allowing Energy to transfer from the small sphere to the statue.
Upon pressing specific points on the dragon pattern, the Energy was instantly transferred to the dragon statue. Through the shared senses of the Skeleton Monsters, Chen Mo saw the dragon statue come alive again. However, this time, it didn’t attack the Skeleton Monsters; instead, it seemed to emanate a friendly aura.
A hint of joy touched Chen Mo’s face. He had finally found the hidden Energy transfer pathway and established some form of connection with the dragon statue.
Following this line of reasoning, Chen Mo commanded the Skeleton Monsters to activate all the other statues as well. However, as he did so, the second statue unexpectedly turned hostile and instantly exterminated all the Skeleton Monsters in the shrine.
Activating the dragon statue was fine, but there’s an issue with the second one. Could there be a specific activation sequence for these statues?
With this thought, Chen Mo immediately dispatched more Skeleton Monsters inside.
After observing for some time, Chen Mo noticed that the gazes of the statues in the middle two rows were directed differently. The dragon statue’s gaze was fixed on the bird statue.
Could it be that the bird statue is next after the dragon?
Thinking of this, Chen Mo immediately commanded the Skeleton Monsters to activate the dragon statue and then the bird statue.
This time, there were no issues. Both statues remained in a friendly state and didn’t launch any attacks. Seeing this, Chen Mo immediately commanded the Skeleton Monsters to continue. Following the bird statue’s line of sight, Chen Mo then activated the lion statue. The lion statue also remained friendly and didn’t attack. This confirmed it.
Following the same logic, Chen Mo eventually activated all eight statues.
The moment all the statues were activated, Chen Mo felt a powerful and mysterious Energy fluctuation permeate the entire shrine. Each statue began to emit a dazzling radiance, as if imbued with new vitality. As the Energy transferred, the atmosphere in the shrine grew increasingly mystical and solemn. Chen Mo could sense the power and wisdom contained within each statue; they seemed to be communicating with him in some way.
Suddenly, a dazzling beam of light erupted from the small sphere at the center of the shrine, illuminating the entire space and unleashing a terrifying attractive force. This force pulled both Chen Mo and Yusheng Liuyin from outside the shrine directly into its interior. However, this time the pull was gentle. Chen Mo didn’t feel threatened and didn’t attempt to flee.
"What’s going on?" Yusheng Liuyin, who had no idea what was happening, immediately looked at Chen Mo with curiosity and asked.
"It’s nothing. It’s likely because we successfully deciphered it."
As an invisible force pulled them into the shrine, the eight statues within had already moved to surround the small sphere at its center, forming an octagonal perimeter with the sphere enclosed in the middle.
