Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Confrontation
Xin Xue, you jinx.
Zhu Wenwu shouted in his heart, this damn door got pushed open directly; he distinctly remembered locking it before.
The instant the door opened, Zhu Wenwu charged forward with his weapon, swinging it towards the doorway.
The intruder was a pale-faced young man who looked at Zhu Wenwu charging at him with an expression of surprise. He dodged the attack with a sidestep, then kicked Zhu Wenwu, launching him into the wall behind:
"You two are still awake? How unexpected. But, it doesn’t matter."
Zhu Wenwu spat a mouthful of fresh blood, looking desperately at the person approaching him, lacking even the strength to call for help.
He frantically signaled to Zhu Xin Xue to take the opportunity to escape.
But Zhu Xin Xue was unmoved, staring hard at the intruder’s back, seemingly petrified by fear.
The pale-faced young man ignored Zhu Xin Xue as well; in his eyes, Zhu Xin Xue posed no threat, just a lamb to the slaughter.
He lifted his blade prepared to cut down Zhu Wenwu, but sensed the wind beside him, deftly evading Zhu Xin Xue’s swinging stick, sneering, "Kid, speed it up a bit more."
"One more shot."
Zhu Xin Xue’s eyes glimmered with a faint blue light, her body leaped into the air, aiming a kick at the opponent’s abdomen.
The young man casually caught the kick with his palm, expecting it to be light; yet the next moment, a strange force sent his body flying, crashing against the wall.
Zhu Wenwu stared in disbelief at the scene before him; since when did his sister become so fierce, kicking this murderer away?
"Murder! Murder!"
Zhu Xin Xue shouted, then turned and ran outside; she knew she was absolutely no match for this murderer.
Her special ability only allowed for a brief burst of amazing power with a special knockback effect, while she herself was far inferior to this murderer in every aspect, whether physical prowess or combat experience.
The pale-faced young man immediately got up from the ground, chasing after her; that move only caused him some pain, no real harm.
But it made him feel particularly humiliated, being sneak-attacked successfully by a little girl.
Running into the corridor, Zhu Xin Xue’s eyes instinctively focused; two corpses lay in the pitch-black corridor, these were the night guards appointed.
Sounds came from other rooms, clearly people were awakened by Zhu Xin Xue’s voice.
As the young man exited the room, others already holding weapons arrived in the corridor; their response was quite swift.
"Why did you kill?"
A middle-aged man with a steel rod questioned as he slowly retreated to the side of two others, cautiously watching the blood-stained long-knife-wielding assailant.
The pale-faced young man halted, turning to look at these people, muttering, "Seems like things are getting complicated."
Zhu Xin Xue glanced back to see seven or eight people now in the corridor; these people possessed a certain combat ability, ideally able to handle the murderer.
But her intuition told her, these people wouldn’t be opponents for the murderer, they needed more manpower.
Zhu Xin Xue turned and ran upstairs to seek assistance.

Su Changxing sent a message to Zhu Wenwu and ran in their direction.
His location wasn’t far from Huang Biao’s base either; though he ran all night, it was essentially a big circle.
Judging by the previous situation, if he doesn’t go, Huang Biao and the others were likely doomed. If possible, he wanted to make an attempt to rescue them.
At a distance of four kilometers, Su Changxing running at full speed would take more than ten minutes to reach, a considerable amount of time, possibly enough for no one to survive by the time he arrived.

Zhu Xin Xue just arrived at the fifth floor when heard screams from inside. She peeked in, seeing Huang Biao leading seven or eight people to besiege a tattered, masked man.
Earlier, Huang Biao had just returned with people from outside, exhausted, fell asleep immediately, but vaguely heard someone shouting outside in his dream, "Raid! Raid!"
It was Qin Jue Ming’s voice.
Huang Biao awoke with a start, realizing something was off about his own status, slept too deeply, too soundly. His heart sank, grabbed a steel saber, and dashed outside, just in time to see a masked man slice down two night guards with a long knife.
He immediately led his people to attack, assaulting the masked man altogether.
The longer Huang Biao fought, the more shocked he became; the opponent’s overall quality was remarkably high, with no weaknesses at all.
Moreover, this person seemed to possess some mental intimidation technique, which could make one momentarily lose focus, already causing several to be injured. Precisely because of this, their approach was cautious; if it weren’t for him standing strong at the front, others might have fled in panic long ago.
They weren’t at a disadvantage, in fact, held the upper hand, because they outnumbered their foe, and a few of them were exceptionally brave.
After several minutes of combat, Huang Biao slashed the masked man in the chest, who turned to run while injured, intending to regroup with his companion, anticipating his companion had already cleared the floor below.
Zhu Xin Xue hid in the stairwell, seeing the masked man preparing to escape, without hesitation, activating her special ability, swinging her stick, charged at the masked man from the darkness.
If she could stall for just a moment, Huang Biao and the others would catch up.
But before she could reach him, she saw the masked man extend his right hand, snapping his fingers lightly.
Her mind went blank; when she regained her senses, realizing the opponent was already descending the stairs to escape.
Huang Biao followed, shouting, "Good job, kid, but don’t do that next time, it’s too risky."
He led his men down chasing.
Zhu Xin Xue shouting behind, "Boss Huang, there’s another murderer below, can you handle it?"
Another?
Huang Biao’s expression grew serious; dealing with just one was already difficult; if another with similar strength appeared, it would be hard to say.
Reaching the fourth floor, Huang Biao entered the hall, seeing the dark corridor strewn with corpses, the pale-faced young man standing among them with a knife, fresh blood dripping from the blade.
All dead.
Everyone on the fourth floor was dead!
Huang Biao’s pupils quivered, his lips unusually dry, an indistinct fury burning inside his chest.
Most of these people were just newly recruited today, merely struggling to survive; yet now, they’ve been slaughtered at will.
"You really deserve death."
He glared at these two unknown origin men but dared not attack recklessly.
"Just trash, dead is dead; if not dead now, they’ll eventually turn into Zombies... Boss Huang, haha."
The pale-faced young man sneered with mocking laughter.
