Chapter 93

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Lady of the House’s Bedroom
Su Changxing muttered to himself: "Not only stupid, but a filthy mouth too."
Once again, a faint voice came from inside the door.
"It’s you who are filthy, your whole body is filthy."
Su Changxing gritted his teeth and returned to the previous data room, browsing the books and materials there, many of which were wrinkled ancient books, "Key to Ancient Music," "Essentials of Astrology," "Ancient Witchcraft’s Social and Cultural Context"...
"The changes in the world have made certain outdated things trendy again. Things that have been passed down from the past must have some value."
Su Changxing murmured.
The Lady of the House seemed to be studying mysticism through some ancient books, attempting to derive power from them.
As for other materials, most of them were about experimentation data on resisting mutations, with some reasonable discussions about the potion-making process.
"It feels like many people are experimenting, but in reality, it should be just the Lady of the House. Is this some method of experimental verification?"
Su Changxing pondered a bit before continuing to search for clues about the apocalypse.
Half an hour later, having roughly searched the data room, he did not find any related written records or books involving the apocalypse.
Things didn’t develop as expected, but he still harbored some hope to search other rooms.
Retreating a few meters along the corridor, Su Changxing came to the room where a little boy was injecting a potion. The room was small, and dozens of silver boxes were placed on the shelf.
"These should be the potions made by Shield Company to resist infection."
He opened one box directly across and found it empty. He continued to open the other boxes one by one, discovering that most were empty, finding only three red potions in one box.
The potions had no name or description, only a serial number WAN102012. Nonetheless, Su Changxing put them into his backpack.
He searched all the rooms on this level again but still found no useful clues, and it seemed like this was the top layer of the laboratory.
Things hit a dead end. Su Changxing stood in the corridor facing the empty space, lost in thought.
At this moment, a voice came to his ear.
"The great True Knower tells you, eight meters ahead in the ceiling there’s a compartment where you should find what you want."
Su Changxing looked up at the ceiling and found that one of the square panels was indeed loose.
After going over and pushing it open, a ladder slid down from above.
In the darkness, several bright scratches appeared on the table where the head was, forming an overall regular shape, constantly changing.
Just climbing up the ladder, Su Changxing heard the roar of zombies and noticed that the "woman" suddenly disappeared as he climbed up.
It was a straight and dim passage, but there were no rooms around, only fluorescent tubes placed along the walls.
"Tap tap tap~"
Heavy footsteps came to his ears.
A shadow rushed from the front, moving very quickly.
Su Changxing stepped back and raised his knife to block, steadily taking the blow, a clanging sound of metal collision resonating.
He saw the figure clearly, a pale face full of curling keratin, scarlet eyes, with a stench.
It was a zombie, but with strength and speed far exceeding an average zombie.
Su Changxing noticed its arms were metal-colored, similar to the Extraordinary he encountered on the third underground floor.
Extraordinary or something else?
Su Changxing took a deep breath, his muscles on his arms suddenly swelling, and he slashed the zombie’s head, making a sonic boom in the air.
Both speed and power combined, unleashing immense destructive force.
The zombie instinctively retreated, its head reeling back, but it was still slow, being struck steadily on the head by Su Changxing.
"Clang~"
A crisp and loud sound.
Su Changxing hit the zombie flying with one strike, the backlash making the hilt tremble constantly, and looking closely, a small piece of the blade chipped off.
The zombie flew five or six meters, heavily landing on the ground, the next moment, standing up again without any pause, charging at Su Changxing with heavy footsteps.
There was only a shallow dent on its skull.
"Damn hard."
Su Changxing sidestepped to dodge its attack and kicked it flying.
The zombie unsurprisingly stood up again and launched another charge, like a piece of sticky candy, not only thick-skinned but also tireless.
Su Changxing confirmed that this zombie’s ability was similar to that Extraordinary but far more terrifying.
Although that Extraordinary was also thick-skinned, it had a sense of pain and would lose action capability under strong attacks, whereas this zombie would not, relentlessly attacking.
Facing the zombie charging again, Su Changxing remained calm, a black-gleaming iron hammer appeared in his hand, smashing it towards the zombie’s face.
This iron hammer was heavy, even for him, not easy to pick up single-handedly, its weight equal to two steel sabers.
This time, Su Changxing easily smashed the zombie away, making it hit the wall with a dull sound.
The zombie’s forehead showed a noticeable dent, but it immediately got back up and charged at Su Changxing again.
Su Changxing tirelessly hammered it on the head again, sending it flying once more.
He continued bashing it like pounding iron, the metallic sheen on the zombie’s skin gradually dimming.
This ability had its limits!
Su Changxing hadn’t used full strength to end this zombie, also to see how long this zombie could withstand.
He suddenly struck a heavy blow, sending it flying.
The metallic color on the zombie’s body completely faded, but it was still not dead, struggling on the ground.
Su Changxing caught up, delivering the final hammer, smashing its head, black blood and flesh exploding, splattering on the walls and floor.
"This kind of ability with the zombie’s life force is simply unreasonable, so zombies can become Extraordinary? This zombie seems like a guard, is this the Lady of the House’s ability?"
Su Changxing exhaled, his breath slightly hurried, dragging the iron hammer forward, seeing at the end of the passage a red wooden door, a light peeking through the crack.
Pushing open the door.
Inside was not the bloody or eerie scene Su Changxing imagined.
A pale yellow large bed, a brown wooden wardrobe, an elongated desk, a fluffy carpet.
A cozy bedroom setup.
A faint fragrance permeated the air.
"Is this the Lady of the House’s bedroom?"
Su Changxing surveyed the room, finding it clean and tidy, with nothing extra, then noticed the bed was surrounded by fragmentary black mist.
He seemed to be able to mobilize and absorb this mist.
In an instant, countless fragmentary and intermittent memories surged into Su Changxing’s mind.
