Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator-Chapter 85: Safe Route

Chapter 85

After pouring the Orange Juice, Lin Ye began organizing his spoils. He first took out five low-tier spatial crystals and completed the Storage Room Blueprint mission.
A trapdoor leading underground appeared in the corner of the room. Lin Ye opened it to reveal a spacious fifty-square-meter underground storage area.
"Isn't this the third floor? Whatever, existence implies reason."
Lin Ye didn't dwell on it, simply clearing out his bedroom and spiritual energy workshop before moving most items downstairs.
Praise-worthy was the fact that the basement also had electricity, finally allowing Lin Ye to bid farewell to that noisy refrigerator.
Returning to his bedroom, Lin Ye began examining item information. Most spiritual energy items were useless to him, except for the new Red Blade that could replace his old one.
[Red Blade]
[Second-tier bladed weapon from the red maze]
[Note: Infused with spiritual energy, it can easily slice through second-tier biological flesh]
After organizing his loot and tending to his pets and plants, Lin Ye lay in bed and opened the group chat, posting pictures of his loot.
"Huh?"
"Holy crap, so much stuff!"
"What kind of treasure chest is this? I've never seen one before."
"Me neither - never this big."
"As expected of a pro, even your treasure chests are bigger than others."
Lin Ye shared information about how water-damaged chests might spawn monsters and treasure rooms. While he could handle it, others might easily get ambushed by chest mimics.
Some survivors might even take contaminated items by mistake.
"Damn, monsters spawning from chests is downright treacherous."
"Good thing the pro warned us, I'd have totally fallen for it."
"Fifteen first-tiers and one second-tier? No way I'm opening that chest."
"Shit, thanks for the heads-up. I just got a special room teleportation card - would've been screwed if I used it."
"Wait, you're already in the deep layers?"
"Lots of advanced players have moved deeper. First-layer chests only give perishable food that goes bad too fast."
"Can the pros teach us how to advance?"
"Where did you all get Consolidation Potions?"
"What's a Consolidation Potion?"
"If your spiritual energy and physical stats are sufficient, drinking a Consolidation Potion lets you advance. But the stronger you are before advancing, the stronger you'll be after."
"Got mine from a red maze chest."
"Damn, you lucky bastard. Mine came from a Station Mission chest."
"I got mine from a War Front chest."
"Doesn't that mean you could delay advancing? Wait until you max out your physical stats?"
"Fool! Zero-tier and first-tier are worlds apart. You think squatting in the red maze picking trash will make you strong?"
"Don't forget weekly Shelter upgrades."
"When advancing, you can enhance one mutation organ, so choose carefully beforehand."
"Huh? I have three mutation organs - can't I enhance them all?"
"You can control it, but the enhancement energy is fixed. Splitting it three ways would make each enhancement weak."
"True, probably wouldn't even activate the organ's special traits."
"Mutation organs have special traits?"
"Yeah, barely noticeable before advancing, but obvious afterward. Mine's my right hand - the skin's crazy tough now, regular blades can't cut it."
"My mutated Kirin Arm beats that. (Mutated organ pic)"
"Yours are just cheap Mutation Card results. My mutated internal organs are better."
"Then post a pic! No pic, no proof!"
"MD, I'm not cutting open my stomach for a photo!"
"Could work - let everyone verify your mutated guts."
"Let me see yours then!"
"...Fine. (Mutated organ pic)"
"Holy shit..."
......
Lin Ye read carefully. He hadn't taken the mutation path. Though he'd mutated in simulations, he'd never advanced with a mutated body and lacked detailed knowledge.
But when group members started spamming increasingly disturbing pictures, Lin Ye went to sleep.
…………………
[Please draw today's card]
"My turn! Draw!"
Next morning, Lin Ye stood up dramatically and drew a card. This time it showed a red-furred rabbit. The card dissipated, revealing a soft-furred crimson rabbit in the Shelter's center.
The well-behaved rabbit hopped into Lin Ye's arms, half-closing its blood-red translucent eyes as it nuzzled his stomach. Lin Ye hugged and petted the pleasantly plump rabbit.
"What can you do?" Lin Ye asked, holding its ears.
"Chirp chirp."
The rabbit didn't resist at all as Lin Ye held its ears.
"You say you're really fast? Nothing dangerous can catch you?"
This was Lin Ye's first encounter with such a cooperative card creature.
"Chirp chirp."
The rabbit licked Lin Ye's fingers and waved its tiny front paws.
"Just lend me the running skill, not that crazy attack one."
Lin Ye quickly clarified. However powerful it sounded, survival skills trumped offense.
"Chirp chirp."
The rabbit nodded obediently.
After pleasant negotiations, Lin Ye rescued the little dog from Little Black's stomach, tended to plants and animals, then prepared breakfast for himself and the rabbit. Yesterday's Orange Juice remained unchanged, so Lin Ye stored it in the basement for future observation.
After breakfast, Lin Ye cuddled the rabbit in bed.

[Simulated D-Class personnel: Henry]
[Acquired special skill: Safe Route]
[Safe Route]
[After activation, reveals one safe path (1/1)]
[Note: Even if the world ends, I'll find a way out]
[Remaining simulations: 10]
Lin Ye opened his eyes to an uncommon solitary cell start instead of the usual prison transport. No screams outside suggested the facility remained intact this time.
Henry was a handsome young man with average physique, looking more like a con artist than a violent criminal.
An overseer opened the cell, gesturing for Lin Ye to follow. He was led to a lab where overseers strapped him to a bed with restraints. Various instruments and an exaggerated helmet surrounded him.
A man in a white coat adjusted equipment, his chest pocket holding an array of markers. Several armed overseers stood in the corner.
This time Lin Ye didn't steal markers for bathroom graffiti - repeating that would be too obvious.
Moreover, the helmet and equipment differed significantly from last time, suggesting either upgraded gear or different functions.
With prior experience, Lin Ye didn't feel he needed reminders anymore.
