Chapter 316: The Respawn Revolution
To enter the Tulip Kingdom, you’d need to register. After registering, you wouldn’t appear on this map, so there’d be no problem.
Only stowaways would show up. They’d just need to follow the map and deal with the stowaways, and everything would be fine.
This was way easier than patrolling and capturing people before.
Plus, since they’d respawn the next day after dying, the experience was even more perfect.
Everyone looked at that huge screen in the sky, their faces full of joy. The super-high death rate was over. They wouldn’t have to keep experiencing that pain of dying. For people who came here worried about dying, this was just amazing.
Just this one thing made their initial concerns fade away fast.
Right then, a huge floating colosseum-like structure appeared in the sky, actually surrounding the portal up there.
If nothing went wrong, any Nightmares coming through from the other side would be trapped directly in the colosseum, where they’d fight it out.
Only guys who escaped from the colosseum would become red dots on the map to be hunted down.
The difficulty dropped again.
Everyone couldn’t help but cheer.
Even without external help, this was already a really good situation for them—the best in thousands of years.
Ren’s work didn’t stop. All kinds of different functional buildings kept generating. Although the style still wasn’t something these supernatural beings could understand, nobody was resisting it.
Especially as time went on, they gradually, somehow, inexplicably understood what these buildings did, actually knew how to use them, how to pick the rooms they wanted...
Everything happened quietly and naturally.
Like they’d always lived in this place.
Before long, everything was ready. The supernatural beings were released from their restraints and started exploring the surroundings, looking for their future homes.
"Is this your vision for cities on the mainland in the future? Seems a bit different from what appeared around you on your ascension day."
The Goddess of Magic watched the changes below, thinking back to Ren’s ascension day when illusions appeared around him. That was also a city made of steel and concrete, but unlike here, it didn’t seem as oppressive, and it had a more complex transportation system.
"The Tulip Kingdom’s just too small. At most, it can hold a million people. Plus, everyone moving in here will be supernatural beings and military personnel. They’ll never get sick here, and they default to resetting to their previous day’s state the next day, so there’s no need to build any transportation system. Just having a few parks to hang out in is enough."
Ren looked at his work, pretty satisfied. "But to be safe, we should still send a few thousand combat clerics and lots of Magic Conductors in to keep this place secure for now."
"As for us, we’ll create some mechanical or magical life forms to go in and do some basic exploration of that other world. Once we figure out the general situation, we’ll either explore and conquer directly, or build up our strength."
Ren’s plan was pretty simple, but practical, and it maximized the security here.
Honestly, the other side had ten times, maybe even a hundred times the population of this place. Just that alone made Ren’s mouth water.
If he could get the Magic Net coverage over there, just the daily prayers from regular use would be enough to make him and the Goddess of Magic the most powerful gods on these two planets.
"Should we explain things to those people? Also, are you keeping this bell tower or changing how it looks?"
"We definitely need to explain. As for the bell tower, let’s keep it as this plaza’s mascot. We’ll make this plaza the respawn point too."
Ren thought about it and made his decision.
"Respawn point?"
"Everyone who dies will be recreated in this plaza." Ren smiled. "How’s that? Pretty good idea, right?"
Honestly, Ren thought the bell tower’s design was actually pretty nice. It used the bell sound to remind everyone of their respawn time. If he changed it, he didn’t even know how he’d change it or where he’d put it—those were all things worth thinking about.
Might as well just keep this plaza and give it some practical use.
After looking it over a few more times and confirming there were no problems, Ren summoned all the legendary-level powerhouses to the top floor of the tallest building.
This was a very modern-style office with windows on all sides. You could clearly see everything in the Tulip Kingdom.
For legendary-level powerhouses like them, flying up high and looking down at everything was pretty normal, but standing in a building like this and looking down at everything felt different.
A lot of them looked around curiously. They really hadn’t expected the God of Technology to transform the Tulip Kingdom like this.
"We’ve all met once before. I’ve got a decent understanding of you all. If any of you want to be free, I can fulfill my previous promise."
Ren looked around and smiled.
"If it were before, we might’ve chosen that, but now you’ve changed the whole kingdom’s rules. Under these rules, I think we should be able to do pretty well."
The group exchanged glances, and someone spoke up right away.
The others all chimed in.
"Since you’ve all made your choice, you’ll need to take responsibility for it in the future."
Ren looked around. "From now on, you’ll still be responsible for clearing out the Hollows that enter this world—what you call Nightmares."
"Also, I’ll be sending lots of tech combat clerics with plenty of Magic Conductors into the battlefield. The most powerful Magic Conductors are about as strong as a normal legendary magician. Plus, Magic Conductors and their user’s own strength complement each other."
"As the situation changes, more forces might provide support."
"I hope you won’t disappoint me."
The moment he finished speaking, Ren, the Goddess of Magic, and Book all vanished from the spot.
The legendary powerhouses looked at each other.
But pretty quickly, their expressions turned to joy.
"This is great! With lots of support and all these aids, our lives are finally gonna get easier."
"Too bad it looks like the god doesn’t want to enter that world right now..."
"What’s good about going in? Lady Dream went in and never came back out. Now we’re so well prepared—when they come over, we just kill them and that’s it. Then we can enjoy the rest of our time."
These legendary powerhouses each had their own ideas, but no matter what they thought, every single one of them developed deep respect for Ren, the God of Technology.
