Chapter 773

Chapter 773: Chapter 434: Ancient God Father-in-Law Observes His Son-in-Law
"Ophelia! What on earth is going on?"
After Noah found out that his eldest son, Iliya, was clueless, he immediately turned to his Angel Companion. She arranged this whole affair, who else would he consult?
His eldest son is truly dense. He only just figured out his father-in-law’s name, the general Realm, specific identity, and his true purpose and pursuit—all met with ignorance.
What made Noah speechless was that the boy didn’t even know where his wife ran off to; he only knew she went to assist her father-in-law.
But he didn’t know which Plane his father-in-law was on. He even tried consulting his mother, but her response was just like his future wife’s—indistinct. Reluctantly, he had to seek Noah’s help.
"What do you mean what’s going on? Coming straight in to accuse me? What do you want? To pick a fight?"
Facing the aggressive Noah, Ophelia confronted him head-on, showing no weakness.
"Who’s picking a fight with you? I’m merely seeking your guidance, what’s up with that Odin?"
"What Odin!?"
Ophelia’s face showed a puzzled expression, as if hearing the name for the first time, but Noah knew his companion inside out, piercing through her poor performance mercilessly.
"Stop pretending, your acting is absolutely terrible. Before deceiving someone next time, you’d better practice in front of a mirror, Hela being positioned beside Iliad is your doing, how could you possibly not know about Odin’s existence."
Recalling his previous exchange with Ophelia, Noah’s mind raced with thousand Flying Dragons.
Ophelia had told him earlier that Hela was just an ordinary Angel. Noah simply wanted to soothe her emotions and didn’t think much, so he believed her words.
Unexpectedly, this was Ophelia’s deception... no, this wasn’t outright lies either.
The peculiarity was in Hela’s past father; for Noah and Ophelia, Hela herself was indeed quite ordinary, but her reincarnation’s interpersonal connections were extraordinarily complex.
"Even if I knew, what then? Do I have to tell you everything I know? Besides, wasn’t your initial goal just to find a Divine to become an in-law?
If Hela’s father, Odin, succeeds in Ascension, restoring the Divine Position, Hela would genuinely be a Divine descendant. Wouldn’t that be just what you wanted? What’s there to complain about?"
Facing Noah’s accusations and questions, Ophelia retorted confidently.
"I indeed have nothing to complain about, but as Iliad’s father, shouldn’t I at least have the basic right to be informed? And Iliad, he doesn’t even know where his future companion has gone, isn’t that too much?"
"An Ancient Divine once again undertaking Ascension and restoring the Divine Position on the battlefield—is it appropriate for him to be involved?"
"Indeed, it’s not appropriate; his strength isn’t sufficient, participating in the Ascension war is certainly overestimating himself. But what on earth is this Ancient Divine?"
Noah noticed earlier that Ophelia described Odin’s Ascension as restoring the Divine Position, not raising the Divine Throne.
Odin, as he suspected, wasn’t some rash first-time Divine Enthronement individual but a soul with extraordinary origins.
"I’ve revealed more than enough information; can’t you guess already?"
"Guess what? Since you know the answer, why can’t you just tell me outright?"
Noah replied irritably, disliking riddlers.
Can’t things be said openly? Instead of keeping it obscure, once it hinders events, regrets follow—so what’s the use? Time can’t be rewound.
"Because this matter remains top secret to this day. I only know a bit because of my father and have made relevant arrangements. If you assume I know many inside stories, you’ll probably be disappointed."
"So, that Old Divine Odin, ascending Divine Position, has already arranged a batch of Immortal beings including your father as support?"
"I am unsure!"
"Why arrange Hela next to Iliad if you’re unsure?"
Noah was very displeased with the Angel’s continued attempt at concealment.
From the current perspective, the Angel’s arrangement clearly shows Ophelia knew certain information exclusive to specific Divines, prompting her arrangements.
"Because I think Hela is excellent."
"Heh, if Odin’s Divine Enthronement fails, what will be Hela’s fate? She would be purged along with him, right? If Iliad becomes her companion, he’d be implicated. Would you, as a mother, harm your offspring?"
From a mother’s standpoint, Noah trusted Ophelia, representing that in her judgment, Odin’s Ascension has a high probability of success, reclaiming the Divine Position.
Utilizing grasped information for prior planning isn’t gambling; it’s merely placing bets in advance, preparing to share future benefits.
"Noah, it’s not that I’m withholding from you, but the fewer beings who know, the better. The less known, the higher the chance of Odin succeeding."
"Are you guarding against Divines antagonistic to Odin?"
Not entirely ignorant, Noah understood Divine wars, akin to an Elf’s fondness for divining future fate among sleazy Divines; numerous Divines possess some prophecy Divine Arts.
