Chapter 786: Chapter 440: Water and Wind Manipulation, the Way of the Dragon King (Part 2)
He opened his mouth and spat out a wisp of water vapor, which wrapped around a thin stream of water coiling around his body, cleaning away the bloodstains and shattered scales left behind during the transformation, revealing a body of gleaming, shining gray-black scales.
Gurgle~
Noah, having completed his second evolution, was filled with exhaustion both physically and mentally, but now was not the time for rest, as the intense hunger surged upon him like a tidal wave, overwhelming his will.
Noah’s will was certainly not going to be suppressed by mere physiological instincts. He first admired his current form reflected on the water surface below,
after completing the transformation, his body had leapt and turned into a massive seven-meter-long creature. In this body of water, no creature could contend against him; he had become the top predator here.
More importantly, his current posture was no longer floating on the water’s surface, but riding the water vapor and fog, suspended low above the surface.
Manipulating the power of water to achieve such a flight-like effect, even though it relied on the terrain and environment, once out of this context, Noah would have to manage accordingly. But it was enough to prove that Noah’s life form had completed its most essential transformation.
He had evolved from a mundane being into a transcendent creature, crossing the most critical threshold, and the process took only seven days.
Noah’s split soul created a body with similarities to the original but also many differences, not only lacking the crown-shaped Dragon Horn and the Dragon Wings, which were more magnificent and radiant than the Sun.
More importantly, there was a fundamental difference in attributes. Noah’s original body was dominated by fire, symbolized by the sun, while currently, Noah’s serpentine body controlled water and wielded the wind.
Despite these differences, Noah had no intention of changing his course; he planned to continue along this path.
Since it was a split soul and a different Race, naturally, he wanted to experience a different path. Perhaps it would provide some assistance and aid in his path to becoming a Dragon King.
"It’s time to leave!"
Although such an environment posed no threat to him anymore, and with his second evolution, this pond couldn’t possibly nurture any challengers that could pressure him, making it extremely safe.
But Noah did not forget the purpose of casting his split soul; staying in the pond, not to mention developing faith, a third evolution would be impossible to accumulate.
To put it simply, with his current size, it wouldn’t take long before the pond was empty from his consumption, leaving not even a fish fry.
Thus, after circling in place for a moment, Noah left this water body that was extremely familiar to him, entering a larger and deeper lake.
Upon entering the broader waters, the newly arrived Noah was immediately attacked by a group of monsters with arms and legs and ugly fish heads.
Fishmen!
Similar to the Sahuagin and Kuo-Toa, but slightly different subspecies of fishmen.
It must be said that the fishman is a species with extremely hardy vitality and remarkable adaptability; seemingly, regardless of which Plane, their shadow can be seen, even in this Space-Time Realm that was sealed countless millennia ago.
Noah observed the group of fishmen before him, showing hesitation and thought in his eyes.
The crude weapons indicated that these fishmen possessed significant intelligence, having developed rather rudimentary crafting techniques. From their attacking formations, they understood basic hunting techniques, enough to show that these fishmen had the foundation to develop civilization.
Wisdom and civilization are the foundations for developing faith; therefore, when faced with the fishmen’s hostility and attacks, Noah did not counterattack immediately but hesitated for a moment.
"Sigh, I can’t stand you, you’re just too ugly!"
When the first bone spear flew in front of him and was swatted away by his Dragon Claw, Noah sighed and made his final decision,
"There’s no help for it, blame yourselves!"
After saying this, the hungry jiao serpent skimmed low over the water. Despite its seemingly massive body, it nimbly dodged the fishmen’s attacks and directly went for the shaman wielding a Fishbone Staff, intending to unleash some type of spell ability.
Gutting, disemboweling, Noah recalled one of the techniques developed by the Metal Dragon Race for slaying or hunting fishmen.
The Bronze Dragons, who were extremely fond of the taste of fishmen’s flesh, could massacre fishmen with precision, using their Dragon Claws to dissect their bodies and select the smoothest fish belly with the finest texture.
Now, Noah replicated such slaughter, or perhaps hunting techniques. As Noah passed by several fishmen, those with incomplete bodies collapsed successively into the pond, while in Noah’s Dragon Claws, several pieces of fish belly with beautiful, snowflake-like marbling appeared.
"Mm, it tastes really good!"
Noah tossed the fish belly into his mouth, chewed slightly, and his eyes immediately brightened as he finally experienced the delightful taste spoken of by the Bronze Dragons.
Different Dragon Clans have unique preferences for the taste of food. For example, Bronze Dragons love the taste of the Sahuagin, while Golden Dragons prefer to savor Pearls.
Noah’s original body had tasted fishmen’s flesh before, but he found that although it was tender, it had a persistent fishy smell, failing to qualify as a delicacy.
Now it seemed that the reason he couldn’t appreciate the sweet and savory taste of the Sahuagin, as described by the Bronze Dragons, was perhaps due to being a Fire True Dragon. Now, with attributes aligned with the Bronze Dragon, he could truly taste it.
"No wonder the Bronze Dragon Clan doesn’t recognize you as a Wisdom Species; I don’t acknowledge you either now!"
Having tasted the fishmen’s flesh, Noah abandoned the idea of spreading and establishing faith among the fishmen. Even without the taste factor, fishmen’s faith needed careful consideration.
The greatest historical achievement of these creatures was summoning a Weak Divine Power that lasted less than ten days.
So for such inferior quality, there’s no need to hold high expectations; it’s better to seek other Wisdom Races. Noah didn’t believe that only fishmen were the final survivors of the Divine War.
If they truly were the only surviving Wisdom Species, they should have thrived long ago merely by scavenging the debris and remnants of the Divine. Instead, they wielded a bunch of bone artifacts, ambushing unknown entities.
...
"Andis, I am your master. I picked you up and raised you. I gave you the most delicious food to eat, the finest clothes to wear, and I gave you life, allowing you to have everything you have now. You should obey me; how dare you defy my orders?"
A voice filled with anger and indescribable fear echoed in a room suffused with a lustful atmosphere. The plump noblewoman, draped in only a thin veil, looked at the boy in the middle of the blood pool with an expression of shock and anger.
He was once her favorite boy, among her collection, the one she doted on and played with the most. Although ten days ago, she and her group of friends had played a bit too roughly with him, causing him to lapse into unconsciousness, with even the physician issuing a less optimistic diagnostic.
But this child persevered through sheer tenacity. As a reward, she kindly granted him a sufficiently long rest period.
Unexpectedly, in just ten days, her most cherished toy turned into a killer, slaughtering her circle of friends and their attendants right before her eyes.
"You did indeed offer him a chance to live, but ultimately you robbed him of his life, and in the end, he felt only resentment towards you."
Odin looked down at the trembling noblewoman before him, feeling nothing but boredom.
To control such a creature, so indulged in carnal desires, came as effortlessly as flipping his palm.
But he found it nauseating.
