"How do you feel?"
Seeing the giant on the operating table reopen his eyes, the Dragon Horn Giant's tone softened significantly.
Because in his view, a goblin that has completed the energy core implantation could be considered its kin, while those goblins who have not undergone this critical modification, no matter how mechanized they were, were merely a lower tier of primitive creatures.
"I feel filled with power from head to toe right now!"
Although the flesh on his chest was blurry, the goblin apprentice felt the energy surging within him and sat up from the operating table as his flesh rapidly grew and healed under the abundant energy's stimulation, a satisfied smile appearing on his slightly swelling face.
Yet, that very smile pulled at the yet-to-heal wound on his chest, causing a fountain of blood to gush out, though the goblin wasn't particularly concerned about such injuries.
Although his teacher's stitching skills were notoriously lousy, even worse than the most basic human medical apprentice. But it didn't matter, because these fleshy parts were all going to be replaced in the end, so good stitching or not was irrelevant.
In fact, at least thirteen modification schemes came to his mind now, and he was determined not only to further enhance his body's level of mechanization but also to completely overturn and restart all his previous modifications.
This is the power of a body of steel and machinery; as long as there are sufficient resources, optimization and modification can take place at any time.
"An incredible feeling, isn't it? I know, so congratulations, from now on, you are a bona fide member of the Steel Dragon Folk.
But that's far from enough; you still need more guidance and help. Are you interested in joining our Steel Dragon Clan?"
"Steel Dragon Clan?!"
The goblin apprentice was startled, then his expression became excited.
This is an organization that emerged within the goblin community as the wave of mechanical modification swept through.
The prototype of this organization was transformed goblins who revered Noah, the God of Steel and Machinery, as the primordial ancestor, and its predecessor was goblin engineers who, in subsequent modification plans, evolved their bodies toward the Dragon Clan out of admiration for the primal ancestor.
It was precisely because of their shared beliefs, interests, and pursuits that these dragonized goblins united to form an organization called the Steel Dragon Clan, no longer viewing themselves as goblins but rather as a higher tier above goblins, the Steel Dragon Clan.
Their ultimate goal is to attain a status equal to or even surpassing that of the Pure-blood Dragon Clan in the eyes of the God of Steel and Machinery.
Such an ambition, goal, and pursuit have made the Steel Dragon Clan extremely popular among the young goblins, who were raised immersed in dragon culture.
Though they also have Dragon Transformation Towers in their residences, the starting point of their goblin bloodline is too weak; even with the Dragonization Domain's influence, compared to other Holy Dragon branches, it's simply unsightly.
In contrast, mechanical modifications can quickly provide power comparable to or even surpassing Dragon Vein creatures, making the choice self-evident.
Quite a few goblins have no aspiration to become the foundation of the next generation's rise; they only desire to see themselves rise in this generation.
"Interested in joining? If you join us, I can provide you with sixteen Steel Dragon Beast modification templates; you can modify yourself according to these templates or use them as a reference to design your own. However, once you join our Dragon Clan, the direction you choose can only be that of the dragon."
"Of course, it's been my dream since childhood, and I am willing to become a dragon; I want to become the strongest Steel Dragon!"
"The strongest Steel Dragon? Then work hard!"
Without mocking the ambitious youth, the Dragon Horn Giant, who considered him one of his own, was very tolerant and accepted any of his ideas. Who could say what the future held? Perhaps there really would be such a day.
Compared to goblins' acceptance of their kind, Noah's tolerance for goblins was unparalleled, even if these guys started to see themselves as the Dragon Clan.
Noah's pure-blooded lords had significant opinions about this new Dragon Clan. These folks were originally goblins, even if their goblin ancestors had once had a glorious history.
But that history had already faded away, and there was nothing worth mentioning. Now, only remnants were left. If it weren't for Noah, the Holy Dragon, firmly supporting and nurturing them, these beings would have vanished into history long ago.
Noah found these goblins audacious and somewhat endearing, yet he neither reprimanded them nor suppressed them but provided guidance and acceptance, with most of the modified goblins still calling themselves Combat Dragon Beasts.
Only a few truly bear the name of the dragon, and each must receive Noah's approval. For instance, the strongest of the modified goblins was given the title of Steel Dragon by Noah.
Additionally, Noah declared that only those who transformed their bodies into the state of Ancient Dragons and became the strongest among goblin elites could earn the title of Steel Dragon.
This was no mere honorary title but one with corresponding actual power, so the goblins vied intensely for the name of Steel Dragon. However, Noah channeled all these energies outward instead of wasting them in internal conflict.
The small internal changes in the goblin community were merely minor disturbances after Noah had completed the fifth phase of the Floating City's construction.
The true, overwhelming wave was when these completed Floating Cities, after preliminary reorganization and training, set out from home, heading directly to the Material Realm, where part of the land was occupied by Noah's forces.
Five Floating Cities descended upon five different Material Planes; one city could shake a world. Though it might sound exaggerated, in fact, with the cooperation of Noah's Dragon-man Battle Group and each Floating City's controller, they indeed could achieve this because these worlds had already been conquered, with no obvious resistance forces present.
After the Floating Cities arrived, those who originally intended to resist and attempt a return to origins found their hopes completely dashed.
No legend can oppose a Floating City controlled by a Legendary Spellcaster; even divines must retreat three spaces.
The only countermeasure could be another Floating City driven by a Legendary Mage, but alas, in Noah's homeland and surrounding areas, all Floating Cities were manufactured and produced by Noah.
Thus, as the Floating Cities took to the skies, Noah keenly felt a change, with resources from the conquered planes being transported back home visibly increasing and stabilizing.
As a result, Noah initiated more construction plans, preparing to build more Floating Cities while issuing orders to sweep away any remaining rebellious forces of the Floating Cities, by proximity, selecting new target worlds for conquest.
He constructed Floating Cities not as defensive and garrison objects but for attack and conquest.
Without divine interference or influence, using Floating Cities as war fortresses to boldly attack other Material Planes causes a tremor most small Material Realms cannot withstand.
Especially since Noah's invasion is unlike that of the Abyss Hell, those demons from the Lower Planes come with the aim of world destruction; thus, under their massacres, it easily triggers the World Will's revival and resistance.
But Noah's Dragon-man Army primarily employs appeasement tactics; as long as willing to surrender, they dare to take it; if not yielding, after all the soft words are spoken, well, there's no choice but to start the slaughter.
War is inherently cruel, even more so as this colonial war was launched by Noah for his ascension to Dragon King; Noah bears no woman's compassion; this is his path to kingship. Regardless of what's blocking this path, even if they were divines, he would sweep them away altogether.
Thus, a century flashes by, and a Dragon Race Empire spanning multiple planes, led by the World Guardian Holy Dragon, emerges across the World Sea, drawing the vigilance and attention of various forces, observing this late-blooming riser, with many immortal wills awakening from their slumber to witness the roaring Floating Cities coursing through the howling Void Storms.
