"Is this what you call, creatures that can bring redemption?"
Teresa, the eldest daughter of Duke Campbell from the Jiede Duchy, frowned at the two black serpents covered with spines on their backs, her expression full of disgust and aversion.
Had there not been two Archbishops from the Dawn Temple and a team of Holy Temple Knights standing next to these monstrosities, she would have drawn her sword and chopped them down by now.
Since the age of thirteen, Teresa, as a Mechanical Female Knight, had led the Guard Army to clear and exterminate monsters, developing a strong hatred and discernment towards them. She could identify a Shape-shifting Demon hidden among the crowd by intuition alone.
With the instincts honed from seventeen years of battlefield combat, Teresa recognized at a glance that these two black serpents were monsters. And if they were monsters, what else needed to be said?
As the Duke's daughter, she was beginning to suspect that the people in front of her might be high-ranking Shape-shifting Demons in disguise. Otherwise, why would they bring two monsters and claim they could redeem the world?
"Yes, Your Highness Teresa, this is a divine oracle!"
The two Archbishops of Dawn Temple exchanged a glance and then affirmed with resolute expressions.
Even though claiming that creatures emitting Demonic Qi could save the world sounded like an affront to others' intelligence, if not outright insulting, the divine oracle could not possibly be wrong.
"Divine oracle?"
Upon hearing this, Teresa could no longer bear it. She slowly drew her Alchemy Long Sword, her chest heaving as flames spewed from her mouth and nose,
"What kind of monsters are you disguised as? Should I force you to reveal your true forms, or will you unveil yourselves?"
"Your Highness Teresa, please remain calm. When we first received the divine oracle, our reaction was not any better than yours. However, we can now prove to you that these two black serpents are capable of saving the world."
"You have half a Magic Hour. If by that time, you fail to convince me that these serpents can save the world, I will consider you as blasphemers spreading false divine oracles."
"You've given too much time, Your Highness Teresa!"
Upon hearing this, the two Archbishops grinned confidently. Then, with the aid of the Church Knights, the two black serpents restrained in an iron cage were released. Subsequently, an Archbishop, showing a hint of reluctance, retrieved and threw a Judgment Soul Demon's corpse onto the ground.
The two black serpents, just released and looking around aimlessly, fixed their gaze on the Judgment Soul Demon's corpse. In that instant, they lunged, devouring the flesh and bones of the high-rank Demon at a staggering speed.
As they maintained this astonishing feeding pace, their bodies also visibly grew, developing more organs and tissues, gradually transforming from serpents into dragons.
"What's the point of monsters that can devour Demon corpses?"
Even though the two monsters, seemingly not as impressive as sub-demons, could devour the remnants of a high-rank Demon, it only proved that their teeth were sharp and their digestion and growth capabilities were extraordinary.
"Your Highness Teresa, have your perceptions dulled to this level? Can't you sense the transformation of the land?"
Seeing the Duke's daughter still on alert, with her Guard troop ready to draw their swords at any moment, an Archbishop expressed his headache and frustration.
"The land?"
The armored Mechanical Female Knight turned her gaze to the ground beneath the two black serpents. As the creatures grew, a unique devouring force targeted certain materials, absorbing them from the earth.
"What is this?"
Suddenly realizing something, Teresa disregarded the threateningly transformed black serpents and stepped forward, kneeling on the ground, reaching out to touch the earth.
"Your Highness Teresa, I remember the Duke has a Great Druid from the Natural Faction. If you're uncertain, you can invite the Great Druid to confirm. I believe they will provide you with a satisfactory answer."
Seeing the Duke's daughter's face filled with suspicion and wonder, another Archbishop, with a confident smile, reminded her.
Even they didn't understand why the great God of Light, the Lord of Dawn, sent two monsters to save the world. But that didn't stop them from praising the lord's greatness and omnipotence after initial tests on the creatures.
"Go, fetch Lord Hughes!"
Realizing the land had indeed changed, Teresa, as a warrior rather than a Spellcaster, chose to hand the situation to experts, following her father's teachings.
Soon enough, as the ground mildly trembled, a white bear with antlers on its forehead appeared with a rumble. This seemingly mountain-like heavy creature left no footprints behind, with flowers and plants sprouting wherever it passed.
The vibrant, resilient green, together with the subtle fragrance, invigorated all who witnessed it.
Before the onset of the magic tide, these once-common roadside wildflowers and grasses had become extremely rare, tended only by Nobles who had the means to sustain them.
