Has Big Shot Fallen in Love Today?-Chapter 638: Going Wild with Alcohol

Chapter 638

Chapter 638: Chapter 638: Going Wild with Alcohol
Gu Jiahui had fallen asleep and was dreaming.
He dreamt of early November at Huishi High School, on the rooftop of the student union building, surrounded by potted autumn chrysanthemums, with him and Sheng Tang sitting under a big umbrella.
He reached out, wiped Sheng Tang’s lips with his finger, and then touched his own lips.
Now he was already a grown man, considering his status and the wealth his father had given him, combined with the vast fortune he had earned using that wealth, he should have had several romantic relationships.
He was handsome, wealthy, and gentle, countless women threw themselves at him, but he avoided them all.
To this day, he had never been in love with anyone.
His only kiss with a girl was actually with Sheng Tang—a slightly plump Sheng Tang.
Moreover, it wasn’t even a real kiss.
"President Gu?" The driver called him for the third time, his voice a bit louder, and Gu Jiahui finally woke up.
He was momentarily disoriented, falling abruptly from the chaotic dream of the past back into reality.
"President Gu, should we go home or to the company?" The driver asked Gu Jiahui.
The driver was waiting at a red light. After the light, there was an overpass. If they were going home, they needed to take the overpass; if to the company, they would turn onto the street below.
Gu Jiahui adjusted his sitting position.
From the small town where the filming location was to the city, it was a three-hour drive.
He had already slept for three hours and was feeling pretty good, ready to grab some food and work overtime.
"To the company," Gu Jiahui said.
When he arrived at the company, he was still somewhat dazed.
There were still people in the artist department, apparently because an award-winning actor had involved himself in a major scandal and his team was working through the night to come up with a plan and press release.
Gu Jiahui greeted them.
The artist’s manager asked him, "President Gu, what should we do now?"
"You’re the professionals, don’t ask me," Gu Jiahui waved his hand. "Just do your best to protect your client’s interests. Discuss any budget matters with my secretary tomorrow."
Within the company, artists were referred to as clients of the managers, and managers provided services to the artists.
Of course, only famous artists could be considered clients.
He took a stroll around and then returned to his own office.
One of his secretaries knew he would be back tonight and hadn’t left work yet.
Gu Jiahui sat down in his office, but his emotions were still unsettled.
He hadn’t thought much about Sheng Tang over the years, nor followed her affairs, because he assumed she would marry Gu Shiting.
He was extremely busy with his company and studies tormenting him; he wished he could double the hours in a day. Unlike Gu Shiting, he wasn’t a genius who could easily succeed.
Besides his studies and career, he also harbored a secret plan.
This plan had been in motion since middle school, a meticulous endeavor maintained for over a decade, which occupied his mind.
It wasn’t until two years ago that he found out Gu Shiting and Sheng Tang had long broken up.
Since then, he started thinking of her frequently again.
He remembered her gaze in the attic of Sun Lanlan’s flower shop; he remembered the softness of her lips under his finger; he remembered her dazzling presence on the school stage.
He remembered her triumphant glee when she bested him.
Gu Jiahui had been sitting for ten minutes when his secretary brought dinner and coffee, but he stood up.
"Go home early," he said to his secretary.
Gu Jiahui owned several sports cars, two of which were parked downstairs at the company because he had to switch cars depending on the clients he met.
Today, he drove a red sports car and called his cousin Cheng Lichuan as soon as he got in: "Come out for a drink. If you don’t come, I’ll get drunk by myself and drive home."
Cheng Lichuan replied, "I’ve recorded that. I’ll send it to Tangtang later."
Gu Jiahui: "..."
That night, he drank himself into oblivion. When he got drunk, he became very quiet, with no thoughts in his mind.
By the time Cheng Lichuan arrived, he had already drunk himself to the floor, so Cheng Lichuan had to drive him back home.
He wasn’t prone to drunken antics, but once home, he kept knocking on Sheng Tang’s door.
"Sheng Tang, open the door!"
Cheng Lichuan repeatedly told him Tangtang wasn’t home. To prove it, Cheng Lichuan even opened Sheng Tang’s room.
Sheng Tang was just a guest, so her room held no secrets and was never locked.
Gu Jiahui went into her room, collapsed on her bed, and refused to get up again.
